- So this one took a while. Can't explain why as it would simply take far too long to detail all the things that went wrong in the creation of this simple little video. Suffice to say that the tools used were temperamental to say the least.

Just the influx of Halo over the last few months. Reach, Halo CEA on PC and Infinite, it's a good year to be a Halo fan.
It got on my recommended, that’s how I found it.
I assume Spartan 3s, although doesn't quite look like SPI armor. But it gives me that same feeling.
I am in awe. This was very beautifully animated, the storyline was executed well and the music flowed right along with everything. The way you muffled the sounds really added to heavy atmosphere and gave it just the right touch to an immense battle. What did you use to animate this because whatever it was, it looks fantastic.
What storyline? I honestly couldn’t see much story to this because there isn’t any dialogue and it’s not explained why the guy is just standing there doing nothing. Is he sad because he found a helmet of the ground? Who did this helmet belong to? Why is he sad when he found it? So much stuff that I don’t understand. But maybe that’s just me, if anyone would like to help answer my questions then please go ahead.

You’ve never read Halo: Ghosts of Onyx have you? That’s part of what’s being displayed here. Just from a soldier whom fell and the man before us? Is relieving it through the fallen’s helmet cam footage.

I highly recommend the older ones. Ghosts of Onyx is where this takes place, not this exact scene but this particular operation is within the novel. Pretty brutal mission.

this is that GOOOOOOOD shit, operation TORPEDO is so fucking tragic. wish 343 would delve into something niche like the S-III's or Ghosts of Onyx as a whole, but instead we'll get more episodic bullshit of a mainline Halo game like... what in the fuck, 343. hope to see a return to these animations at some point, just wanna see the chad Kurt-051 be brought to life.

Spartan 3s were issued SPI armor as standard, a lighter form of powered armor with no energy shields, MJOLNIR was a better suit of armor, but they didn't get energy shielding units until just before the battle of reach (this short is set ~7 years before that).

That doesn't make any sense EVS from Halo Reach along with other Spartans never had a chip placement you can never put a AI chip in the back of the helmets

Seeing the Ultra embracing death at the end was like… damn…
All deaths were shocking to be honest, they just happened so fast. Perfectly balanced encapsulates what Reach was like…

I'd disagree, if this is suppose to represent operation Promethus, which I believe it does, it bought the UNSC a large amount of time by delaying the covenant by years. "According to Lieutenant Commander Kurt Ambrose, the leader of the Spartan-IIIs, failure would have resulted in the destruction of all of humanity's Orion-side colonies."

This is SFM, source filmmaker. I'd actually recommend NOT getting into it and learning a proper animation/modelling software. I'm currently learning Blender.

Awesome work, really dark and cinematic! I feel that the animation doesn't fit the tone but as a sfm user I can tell it's the software's fault. Anyway, you've incredible job! Keep up the good work:)
I've pretty much stopped using SFM. As much as a headache as learning blender is, it's a far more stable platform.
