You should have walked out of the bridge to see if the marines will turn on you, and if they do, how long (if ever) it takes before they're friendly again.
Actually, I tested this and killed him (no mods) and I went under the pilot and stayed there, and I didn’t get killed. They couldn’t go down there. Then, I looked up a bit, and I shot a marine and it worked. One of the marines. No mods. But only one of them, it only worked for one.
Congrats, you prevented the flood threat.
Man, I remember doing that when I played the original Halo when I was younger. I don't remember why I killed him, but I do remember doing my best to survive against the Marines that kept coming.

I found a glitch on halo 4 original you have to be on forge world so what you do is take a mantis to the top of the map as high as you can go and then when you are falling and close to the bottom make the mantis smash it's foot and then when you land you will have a lowrider mantis and if you crouch you can wall breach

I think it's like Crow's Nest in H3, where the brutes throw a marine at a pillar, the body is scripted to do that, and when he spawns he is already dead.

Hey Generalkidd sir. Why don't you try looking at a glitch on the fourth mission of Halo CEA. Drive your warthog under the cartographer facility with Marines on them, leave them there, and the covenant will start acting weird.

@General Heed, its possible to kill some of the command crew without getting Cortana mad. If you shoot them in the head with a plasma rifle or plasma pistol, they will die and nobody cares.

Yes, you can escape. What about the Megg easter egg? You have to kill Keys and slip by the marines for that. You can continue from there as well.

Actually you can get away just by hiding under the people in front of captain Keyes
If you manage to escape you teleport the cockpit to get killed by unkillable npc
there is actually a way to kill a marine and get away from the room, the only thing is that you get teleported back. I did it by advancing a bit on the mission, on the next room you pick up a plasma nade and stick it to the closest marine then you run away and if you are outside the room as i said you get teleported back into it

answering questions i didnt know i had
So an interesting semi-related story, I was playing Aliens vs Predator 2 awhile back, the marine campaign for like the 100th time so I was goofing around with some cheats. Along the campaign you get hints you a predator is hunting you down, but before you fight him as kind of a mini boss you get the chance to see him a couple times.
Now you can shoot him some before he jumps away (a scripted part) but you simply can't do enough damage with any of the weapons available up to that point. But if you have the rocket launcher from some console commands/cheats you can actually kill him before you're supposed to, about a level before you actually fight him as a boss as he's yelling from this balcony, and I swear I remember he never shows up for the boss fight if you do this. I consider myself to have a pretty good memory, for details and events at least. I might be wrong about this but I need to test it again. You'd think it would be some kind of entity spawned for each level but there must be some kind of trigger to read he's dead or something along those lines, assuming I'm remembering correctly. A neat feature, if it holds true. Plus it was satisfying just to blow him away so easily since it was a pretty tense boss fight.
Should've included the part where you respawn back onto the bridge if you somehow made it off due to sticking him with a plasma grenade and dashing for the exit OR eliminating him in co-op while the other player is not on the bridge.
On Halo:CE for the original Xbox, I once had an Elite on Legendary follow me back on the bridge. I died before I could see it interact with the crew. You should test that out next. I never could repeat what I had done for that Elite to follow me, but it can happen. Of course people today are all pics or it didn't happen.

Shoulda done this in classic graphics, I figured out that if you fly a ghost into the control room (on AotC level) right as the door opens the end of level cut scene will play and the ghost (now unmanned) will coast into the chief and kill him in the cut scene. However the anniversary graphics prevents this cause the MoCapped model doesn't have collision and the ability to die.
One time I managed to kill the captian with a grenade from far, but the game teleported me back to the closed door.
I didn't even know that I could kill captain Keyes
Turn on godmode and run through the level to see if those Marines murder everything

Literally the first thing I did when playing this

Actually if you shoot one of the sitting crew members in the head first before body shots, they turn invincible, ive tested it when I kept screwing around knocking the marines down the ladder area using the black eye skull and melee

I found out that earlier today when I was playing with a friend and I thought what could happens if I kill captain keys
The only reason some marines are invincible are cause you shot them in the wrong way. I’ve tested this theory and if you shoot them on their side(body) with a pistol then they will die but if you just headshot them then it activates the invincible mode for some reason

I’m actually 99% sure you can kill everyone of the command crew, just simply don’t shoot them in the head, also shooting them in the head (exception of Keyes) should prevent a betrayal because technically they didn’t die, the standing ones at least.

Did u know in halo reach pelicans can turn on u can u try and see if u can do it and it was on the Misson onion sword based were you get the target locater as the pelican drop the waterhog fire the locater on the pelican and make sure u keep the locater as u hit loading points u get more amo and make sure u go for the senser first
