    It's so funny looking this, because i'm from Finland😂😂 And i don't understand why almost nobody who live outside on Finland doesn't like salmiakki😂 I like that😄

    Cloetta is Swedish (the polly chocolate is Swedish, you can get cloett treats in Norway and Finland not only Sweden!)

      My cousin here in America had a Finnish Au Pair that craved the salty liquorice candy from home. She had some sent and I thought it was not bad, Strong anise flavor and quite salty. A bit like chewing a hockey puck I'd imagine though.

    Salmiakki really nothing to do with Liquorice.
    Liquorice comes from a plant.
    Salmiakki is a compound - Ammonium chloride.

      _Red_ licorice... and _strawberry taste_...? Newer seen anything like that. Probably licorice only by name then, or heavily mixed with something else. Is it in the USA?
      The licorice extract itself, i.e. directly from the root of the plant, is black-brown-green(-ish) and has a distinct characteristic flavour. It is also used in cooking sometimes.

    I visited Finland and I tried this milk chocolate bar with a raspberry yogurt filling, it was kind of like a fondant/truffle that was slightly yogurt-y. It was lovely and I would kill for some more of it!

    Fun fact about the Merkkari (Pirate Candy)! You can see that the black liquorice ones have little bit of it cut out and the reason is that when you swallow it, it cant get stuck to your throat.

    Oh my god I just love every one of those and I was able to remember the lovely taste of them as those dudes spit them out!! That Kipparin piippu was cleary old. It is supposed to be softer.

    regarding the salmiakki. the flavour comes from ammoniumchloride.
    And how does one make the stuff? why you mix ammoniumwater with hydrochloric acid... And it is a common school chemistry experiment in Denmark

    I'm from finland, and we synthesized ammonium chloride (the salmiakki flavor) at the school in a chemistry class. We also played a bit with aether... none got high ;)

    Your mom is so lovely. By the way I cringed every time you put liquorice in your mouth. Finnish liquorice is extremely strong in my opinion and it would leave the aftertaste in your mouth for hours. As a student living in Finland a few years ago, I never could learn to enjoy liquorice like the Finns. But gosh Frazer milk chocolate is divine :D

    It's so funny to see your reactions to regular and salty liquorice, which I as a Finn have grown to like. I didn't like it when I was younger, but I've gotten used to the taste. I actually like Sisu's (Gifu) Horna the most! You're so funny, when you are imitating your mum :'D I love this video!

    We often eat the black ones and the colored ones together. I especially love to do that with Missä X candy.

    I love everything of those they tried:) But my favorite from those, definitely has to be Salmiakki.. I don't know why others don't like it, I completely love it. I love salmiakki in any kind of way, inside a chocolate or just as in salmiakki.

    That was great! Unfortunate that you don't like liquorice and it's in so many of our classic candies. It might be an acquired taste and us Finns just grew up with it. I remember eating a bunch of those fake pipes growing up! ^^

      I'm an American that has tried it and I found it not too bad.(the black salted liquorice). I had some anise flavored candies that were made in Oulu that were very good. They were yellow with a soft yellow center, not black.

    Correction: Polly & Cloetta Is Swedish Candy/Swedish Brand. But i also see alot of the Swedish Candy Including "Dumle" and Fazer, so..it adds up i guess :)

    The horna once are not salty or spicy at all! I love them and I think they are best once from sisu. And I love the salmiakki chocolate too.

    Every time i visit Finland (living in sweden) i take som Merkkari mix home with me. LOVE IT, especially the pink ones! So fun to watch peoples reactions on licorice!! I love it not all kinds but i still find joy in most of them. Maybe I'm just used to it :P

    Its really liquorice ammonium chloride. Very popular sweet in Finland. Been over 20 countries and best candies are in Finland.

    Don't send salmiakki or liquorice :''D now people thinks finnish candies are sooo bad. I think they are not (im from finland) ! :3 That Sifu is called Sisu :) Sisus are strong salmiakki/liquorice mix, all the salmiakkis isnt so strong.

    I'm honestly almost surprised you didn't get any of Fazer's basic milk chocolate, since that's pretty popular here too (but yeah Fazer is like one of the biggest companies that make sweets around here). Fazer's milk chocolate is often referred to as "Fazerin sininen" which just means Fazer's blue, due to the blue wrapper.

    Haha, that's weird how much you dislike salmiakki. Whenever I have candies, I usually aim for the bag with the most sour ones and the one which has most salmiakkis. In particular the Fazer's salmiakki chocolate is my favourite.
