From all videos I watch, you been the only one that knows how to explain everything. Thank you for showing. The only thing I'm a lil bit lost and I would appreciate if you give me an explanation or diagram about it. I have a Dodge Journey with a Factory Stereo. I want to hook up 2 amps. One for the speakers and one for the base. Thank you in advance.

    • @Dehnia31

Hmmm, I think I can answer your question. You have to connect the left and right speakers to get a low input signal for the aftermarket subwoofer. Whether you use a advanced LOC or a basic cheap one.. I think the only catch to this is if you have a factory subwoofer and you can just tap into that and that only requires 1 since it’s the main subwoofer in a premium system setup.

The same as many other cars my friend! But Chryslers tend to have grounding issues so I reccomend upgrading all of your power and grounds the big 3 or 4 they call it! But what concerns me is that if your watching this I feel like your contemplating using the factory head unit. Just know that's doing it the generic way! Get yourself a quality head unit NOT the cheap single R.C.A. outputs models, get one with multiple outputs! Then of coarse a quality amp is key! They're pricey but if that's an issue there are ways around the high dollar models like the c.a.b. 1600.1 it's full name is "car audio bargain 1600.1" but if money is on issue get some D.C. audio amps, then get good subs and match your ohms to your amps ideal output and if you don't know what I mean then take a crash coarse in ohm ratings! Or simply Google OHM rating wiring diagrams! I always use the Rockford fosgate wiring diagrams but depending on the amp you choose you then know what ohm subs to buy! Personally I like duel voice coil subs myself ! But again it all depends on the ohm load your trying to Achieve! Now another issue is power! amps are designed to run at 14.4 V not 12 so get you a big alternator! preferably a big one but again it should be sized to the systems needs but factory alternators really don't put out enough MMS will you achieve 14.4 volt! Also, dry cell batteries get some! Really you want the system to be powered by your Battery bank and a big alternator to run the car and still be able to charge your batteries! He G we're close by I would offer to help you in fact it's something I like to do! In fact designing systems is fun! Something I use to do years ago that a lot of people Sean to be forgetting is I ran line drivers to boost voltage coming from the head unit before it goes into the amps! Now a days head units put out higher voltage than they used to but still the higher the better! I always used cadence electronic crossovers with 7 volt line drivers! I see they now offer 9 V now!

Ic2i is for stock radio applications which will provide rca output signal and remote turn on without the lost of bass roll off at higher volume. It is not an amp, hope this answers your question.

If you plan to utilize your stock head unit, this is a crucial install & will make your system sound MUCH better! It will give you a much cleaner and better signal to send to your amplifier(s) / speakers!

Dude with the money you spent on the LC2I why not just get a better head unit? If it's the 9.5 volt output your after get a line driver my friend! Personally I believe a system is only as good as its weakest link and a factory head unit is deffinately a weak link! Also if it's about the factory steering wheel volume controls they have adaptors for those of coarse! I'm sure you know this which is why it surprises me that your using this rather than a good head unit!

This was just to demonstrate on how to install one and use it for those who want to keep the factory unit and not lose all the bells and whistles that come with it. I do agreed with you on a new head unit which is what I have now with a access adapter for steering controls

@@becausebass3629 you know 20 years ago I was setting up systems and back then head units didn't push the voltage that they do now but I still reccomend getting a "cadence" electronic crossovers with 7 to 9 volt line driver!

My stock unit on my 18 Kia sportage works fine with a cheap hi-lo converter But! I do have it connected to a Clarion 7 Band Eq which really takes care of most of the problems. I get great bass and sound to my speakers! No humming sounds.

Yes, but most people with newer vehicles don't want to lose their factory HU for many reasons.

@@LTSRIDE24 well in newer vehicle that's not an option at all such as Chrysler and Honda vehicles. That do have interfaces that can tap into the vehicles canbus and get a full range digital signal and then converted to 4 ch 5v analog low level signal. Some have an option for the use of an optical to a processor. This is way better than any hi to low level converter
