    Other channels:
    clickbait thumbnail + title -> bad content
    Your channel:
    Sort of look like clickbait -> content that never fail to amaze me
    Quality video!

    "factor it into your numbers and deal with it" this is THE BEST advice i have heard when discussing etsy fees. Everyone wants everything for free, that is just not realistic, there are expenses in doing business, deal with it :) Hope you feel better soon.

      Thanks James! Yeah, I understand peoples frustrations but if fees like that are going to stop you I dont think youre cut out for running an online business lol.

      Like other online platforms as a rough guide selling fees work out at about 20% of the selling price.

    You do a very good job of helping and informing others of valuable info. Glad to have came across your channel. I just purchased a s1 40w to do my own real leather hat patches that I stitch onto hats. Thanks again

      Appreciate it thank you for the kind words. The S1 should work great for the leather patches. Might want to beef up the exhaust a little though if you are going to be doing a lot of leather cutting with it.

      Thanks!! P2 would be a perfect fit. Just got my P2 delivered and going to set it up tomorrow. I had to lift it up by myself and think I strained myself back into covid hahaha.

      @@justinlaser Seriously it is heavier than it looks. I am really happy with the build quality and the features so far. I found a local supplier of cast acrylic last week and they seem to have pretty fair pricing.

    Thanks for your informative business ideas. I'm waiting for my Xtool S1 10W to help with my leather craft work. I make small card holders, passport holders and handbags for my friends and wife. Would love to make patterns for my leather craft works, as the S1 10W should probably be able to cut 2~3mm thick black acrylic. I've subscribed to your website, can't wait to start a side hustle. I'm 66 soon, will have to prep for the day when my boss bids me Adios. Would love to learn more on your business strategies. Thanks again, Anthony from Singapore.

      co2 is pretty clutch for this but black acrylic will work if its a diode.

    Hi Justin, love your content. Always professional and outside the box.
    It looks like you primarily use 1/8 in. Do you get much call for 1/4, like for router templates?

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, router people want thicker and often settle for 1/8" if they order from me.

    how to figure out what to charge? it's one of my biggest issues

  • @bloopbleepnothinghere

    But being on Etsy doesn't solve the customer problem. You can be at a marketplace but if you are burried in a room at the back of the market you still have a customer problem. There are so many vendors doing the same thing, it will take years and dedication to get to this guy's customer base.
    There is no shortcut to a good business.

    I have a laser business and I have diode and co2 lasers and I have a leather craft business I still would like you to do some patterns for me !!!!! No time to do them I still use paper patterns on most of my wallets what’s your Etsy ?

    I have a question.. I already have Etsy that I use for sublimation but I just purchased a Co2 laser and I’m waiting for it to arrive but I already have many ideas.. I haven’t had many buyers on Etsy, and I know it takes money to make money.. so how much would you throw to Etsy advertising.. because I think I have the least.

    Question:
    What do you with the rest of the acrylic parts? Throw them into the waste or recycle them in any way?

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  8 месяцев назад +2

      Bigger pieces of scrap I keep around for cutting smaller things but my scrap sheets I take back to my plastic supplier.

    Why can't you cut clear Acrylic with an S1? Will it cut colored Acrylic?

    • @justinlaser
      @justinlaser  8 месяцев назад +1

      The wavelength of a diode laser doesnt interact well with light color materials, especially transparent. The beam just passes straight through the acrylic. It will cut colored acrylic but the darker the better. Most people stick with black for that reason.
