2022 Hyundia Sonata Navigation Map Update Failing? Follow this video

For weeks I have been having troubles trying to update my navigation maps for my 2022 Hyundia Sonata Limited. I have tried serval 64 gig USB thumbdrives and still could not update the system.
I took it to the dealership and they could not figure it out. I also called Hyundia tech support and they could not figure it out either.
I decided to choose the 2020 - 2021 Hyundia Sonata in the Navigation Updater software instead and it worked. Watch this video and hopefully this will help you.

2021 Palisade owner here…Confirming the same issue with the looping installation if the USB is plugged in. I pulled it out right after the “system restart” message displayed. Then “restoring data” took even more time. It is incredibly lazy on Hyundai’s devs to not do a check version prior to auto-running the installer. Even more….creating a simple video only takes a few minutes and that would have saved a ton of headaches.

The Sonata SEL with the 8" screen is a much better system. It uses Google maps that never need updating

So I don’t know where to get the files from and do I download onto the flash drive I don’t understand?

I have Sonata 2021 N line, downloaded latest update from October 2023, but now navigation does not work, also apple play is not full screen.
Anybody else has this issues?
Should I download and install Sonata 2022 instead?
Also I see you update has steps 1/5 I had only 1/4?? Maybe I am missing map update???

I didn't download it. I just clicked update and it works. Not sure why. It takes me 1 second

I bet part of his 2022 was made with 2020 parts. There wasn’t really any change due to a few obvious factors. ‘22’s are identical to ‘20’s.

So I did this but now can't use the navigation or maps and have the same car 2022 limited sonata. Going to try and download the 22 update now and see if that works to restore my maps

So update after doing the 2022 update after the 20-21 I can now use maps and navigation

I dowhloaded the program, in the program their are several files, 5 of the files are zipped files, do I have to unzip those files for it to work ?? When I put the flash drive in the usb, on top of the display it says momentarily ( reading usb ) then it goes away, when I hit the download button it says reinsert the usb and try again. This is on a 22 Tucson

I saw a separate video where a guy uses 7zip to open the downloaded file from the website and from 7zip directly copied onto the usb. I think you just need a file manager that can understand zipped files, no need to unpack. I’d recommend trying with all zipped files at first and if that doesn’t work, isolate them one at a time til it does!

After I downloaded the 2021 update, the 2022 USB that they mailed me now works.
