You know it always pains me to see people's hard work and past dreams get torn down, but to see what you did to it in the end is very inspiring. Out with the old and in with the new, I suppose. I hope you enjoy your new place for generations to come. But you know someone in the future will probably be doing the same thing to your hard work in the distant future. We are all just passing through this place anyway. Nice job!
Very true. I have a habit of fixing up "tear downs" Probably done a dozen of them now. Makes me feel good and we do it well enough that the next guy will have something to work with (hopefully) Thanks for watching!
Ok. You got me ! Beautiful cabin so I watched ! Great video so I kept watching ! Even went and checked and you post regularly ! Subscribed ! Now. Gotta get caught up and watch each piece ! Lol. Where u at ? ( only video I’ve watched lol ) I’m in Maine. Take care
That is beautiful and love the location….this is all you need. It’s so peaceful and calming looking. I could definitely live there. Y’all did a fantastic job…..wow!
I hear ya, I try not to have more than one piece of equipment financed at a time. Kubota about done (0 interest so no hurry) then I think I'll be getting an excavator myself!
It turned out very nice, but then I knew it would from watching your videos. Plenty of skilled craftsman can build a great project, but the ability to add the special touches takes it to the next level. Wood on the poach deck? It almost looked like poplar, but I can't imagine that lasting long. I also thought cedar, but that doesn't seem right either. What did you use?
Thanks Phil, I know you've been here since before we started! We used pressure treated southern yellow pine on the deck and framing but the rails are poplar with a treated top rail. Got poplar out of the woods so price was right if I have to replace a few spindles down the road.
The house is truly wonderful: I would say a dream house. The only doubt I have is the mound next to the house: in case of heavy rain, could there be a risk of the house being flooded?
I got one of those too! That's the Squatch Hollow cabin you'll find in other videos. After lot's of research I found the smaller ones rent better and obviously way less money to build or remodel. That one rents 2-1 compared to our bigger one and it's only $30 a night less! Thanks for watching!
I’m doing just that. After my wife passed I moved to a cabin in Tennessee near the border with North Carolina. I ride a motorcycle and this area around Tellico Plains is a bucket list motorcycle destination.
It is no more so than other materials. I believe all smoke is toxic to differing degrees. It is substantially better insulation so obviously we don't plan on a fire but it does a way better job reducing emissions from over use of utilities to control climate so it should come out ahead from a footprint stand point.
I purchased the land and the cabin for about $35,000 (would be quite a bit more now) and we probably spent upwards of $55,000 to gut and remodel the cabin. I would say all in we are pretty close to $100,000. If a fella were to do themselves or get friends to help for fun you could bring that number down quite a bit. The heat pump and HVAC system alone was about $12,000 of that.
Liked the video, great transformation, but tell the guy who picks your music, you don't make horror films. Geeze, we almost gave up after 2 minutes because of the lousy music.
This music is super depressing. I was crying naked on the floor about to start cutting myself. Thank God it's only a 14 minute video. Cool cabin though

The perfectly built place for serenity and peace of mind.
The porch is icing on the cake !
Same!
Absolutely outstanding; fine job gentlemen. A successful rebuild at it's finest...
Wow thanks!
Just sayin’ Carpenters like these guys are joy to watch, what talent, integrity, skill…..they make building an art. A well done video thank you
Wow, thank you!
Clever to make the access wheelchair-friendly.
I think there is a real need for it in the short term rental market
Have remodeled pretty much all of my adult life..retired now…u boys did it right..👍💯
Thanks Gary!
Awesome job on the cabin, that porch is the bomb! The music you selected on this one gives you that ASMR feel. Good luck on your next project.
Thanks Dana!
DOOMSDAY MUSIC
Wow! What a beautifully created cabin. Best I’ve seen on RUclips yet. Well done lads!! 👏💪
Wow, thank you!
What a transformation Steve!! Well done to you and your crew👊🏻
Thanks!
Beautiful work!! That deck is genius with an open area and with a covered section.
Thanks so much!
Loving how it looks on the outside, but would love to see the before and after blueprints.
There are several other videos with before shots. Not much to it. No blue print for either cabin. I like to "wing" it LOL!
I will own a cabin like this one day, it’s my dream and I will achieve it before I leave this earth!
Go for it!
Boy she sure came out nice, great job 👏
Thanks! It was fun.

Hey Tony, welcome aboard! I'm in Northern Illinois but the cabins are in South Eastern Kentucky (we drive allot)
That is beautiful and love the location….this is all you need. It’s so peaceful and calming looking. I could definitely live there. Y’all did a fantastic job…..wow!

perfectly situated dream
Thanks!
The background music is like watching horror movie 🎬. Anwy well done
Thanks!
Nice !
Thanks Mike!
The house is truly wonderful: I would say a dream house. The only doubt I have is the mound next to the house: in case of heavy rain, could there be a risk of the house being flooded?
Thanks! There is a swail or a ditch on the uphill side of the house that channels the water around it so we have not had any problems.
@@buildlife Okay, great thing.
Супер!!! Музыка 😊😊😊
Рад, что кому-то нравится!
Well done
Thanks!
Looks amazing! If J may ask, how big is it?
Thanks, it's about 22x24.
what kind of lumber did you use on the ceiling for all the cabin? -just beautiful.
Thanks, it's pine from a company in Michigan. It has "blue" streaks that is considered an imperfection in it. I really like it too!
nice job
Thanks Russell!
Outstanding!
Thanks!
My guy tackled that insulation in short sleeves and shorts. haha. No fear.
Us Illinois roofers are not known for our high IQ!
@@buildlifeWell ya’ll did a fine job! That transformation was amazing
Nice❤
Thanks 🔥
very nice
Thanks!
Add a 2 bed1 bath house shed to the back side .So it would be a 3 bed 2 bath cabin.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Wow good
Hey thanks!
Some of that ladder placement was a little shaky. :)😊
Always a little shaky on ladders!
Ok.keren..salam dari indonesia
Terima Kasih telah menonton!
nice
Thanks!
Nice remodel is this in Tennessee?
Thanks! South Eastern Kentucky
The music makes me feel like we're about to discover a dead body. Great build!
That was the feeling through most of the build too!
do you sell any of the properties that you renovate?
No this is part of my retirement plan. They are all on the same two parcel numbers too so wouldn't be able to split them up. Thanks for watching!
THIS IS THE LIFE I WONT TO LEAD,AWAY FROM HUMANS
Go for it!
As do I brother!!

IS The spray foam flamable isf so at what rate and temp...and is smoke TOXIC,...

How long did this project take?
It took us about 6 months we worked about a week out of each month.
Creepy music lol but great job!
That was special for you LOL
Nice job but I would have thought it would’ve been easier and perhaps cheaper to tear it down and rebuild
Allot of people would have. I like to restore old things. Way more character and history.
🤩
Hey very good. Please i need the flat these your house. Please
Thanks!
how much all said and done?
ruclips.net/video/RWeAB7kFFYE/видео.html This is a video on the cost!
What price dose it have ?
cost to build or to rent?
@@buildlife to build

You know what similarity is. You kind-a look like bubble dia and you use expressions like your hands movement plus you sound like her
Practically twins and my singing voice is angelic!
🤩🤩👏👏👏👏
Wow thanks! 😃😃😃
Can y’all come build my house. I live on a lake in Arkansas
Sounds awesome! I've got a couple more to do on our property then we'll be there!
👍
Excellent build but what's up with the music.
I take requests LOL Hard to make a million folks happy!
These guys are building dahmers cabin
Pretty sure he's dead LOL! Would be a good theme for the next one though!
Boom!
You can't out-give God.
Scary music 😂
Scary house!
Looks like a regular house build to me. Not a cabin. But, nice work anyway.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not real sure what the difference is anyways.
May as well of just built a whole new house. Seems pointless to destroy 99%
To each his own. Not my first rodeo.
🌠💖💗😇💗⭐♥️❤️✨
Thanks!
Nice video, questionable choice of music!
Glad you enjoyed it?
Liked the video, great transformation, but tell the guy who picks your music, you don't make horror films. Geeze, we almost gave up after 2 minutes because of the lousy music.
Thanks so much for sticking it out. I new you could do it!
Cool video but the music was horrible
Thanks?
creepy and unsettling 'music'
Goes well with your profile pic
Pero eso no es un capin eso es una casa
Una casa muy pequena LOL!
This music is super depressing. I was crying naked on the floor about to start cutting myself. Thank God it's only a 14 minute video. Cool cabin though
Seems a bit extreme, I'd suggest turning the volume down. It's easy.
Музыка депресевная
awful music choice, sorry. cant even watch a minute of it
Thanks for sharing, we'll get it fixed for you right away!
🤥
This is a renovation, not a build.
Thank you for the clarification.
Haha!
What is with the scary music...
Special for you!
2.31 minutes of that sound is all I could take. The title should read rehab not build. I'm sure the rest of the video was helpful to someone.
Glad you felt the need the chime in. Keep up the good work!
Very good work very bad music
Ill let you pick next time.
