- Hey y'all! I finally got another round of beanies in & to go along with them, I drew TWO new designs!! We started embroidering the hats & I realized the design I drew just wasn't working. The design kept coming out with missing thread so I redrew it... FOUR TIMES 🫠 Until I finally got it right & it came out AMAZING!! Howeverrrr I did turn into a zombie & I just kept embroidering onto the HATS INSTEAD OF THE TEST SHIRT!!! ugh lol I don't even know what happened but we came out with a ton of embroidered beanies lol ALL CUTE but dang hahah

About my channel: Hey everyone! I'm Heather, the crazy lady behind ArtsyMadwoman! I'm an artist that literally cannot pick just one art to do... SO! My channel is where I test out all different kinds of arts! We experiment with different materials to see what happens. So the issue with the cloud was tension, much like 98% of sewing machine issues :P the rows of stitching at the bottom were pulling that half of the design 'down' and then the rows at the top would pull that half of the design 'up' and the result is a gap. All the stitches that are meant to be there are in fact there, it didn't miss any. Strong possibility of solving this by changing the stop/start points so it stitches continuously from top to bottom (or bottom to top, side to side, whatever... just all from the one point to an opposite point) so that the stitching constantly stitches next to another line of stitching. You can see at 13:24 and 13:52 that your current stop/start point is at the same place, the far left several rows up from the bottom, and that's where your gap keeps showing up. You've solved it for this design already but in case you want to do future designs that are solid like the original cloud, I'd be willing to bet this helps 💚
Definitely would recommend getting some scrap fabric at a thrift store, even if it’s old sheets, and trying the designs on those 😁
When you do the embroidery you don’t have to change the bobbin color I always use white on mine no matter the color on top 😻

So I started messing around with Ink/Stitch after one of your previous videos. I found that if you go into the 'params' option, you can change the way your project 'fills' and 'understitches' and instead of going just horizontal lines like a printer, you can make it go in curves from the inside out, or outside in, or diagonals, or several other options.
I found that messing with these parameters makes for a much better final stitch out.

Also, one end of the Guterman bobbins comes off so you can store things like needles or pins inside, and hold down the end of your thread!
I think a cream/coffee color thread on the brown beanie would be super cute!

The first set of clouds and stars looked nice but I ❤ the curly stylized clouds and slimmer moon!!! Sometimes trying to solve an issue forces us to think about different ways of doing a thing, and in this case I think you perfected it!

i used to have embroidery machines , but i had to give up sewing .but i loved sewing designs.i could not draw so that is why i loved my machine so much .i still miss sewing.but old age caught up with me ,and i had to stop a lot of my craft .keep up your great work .🙋♀

I like the skull flower concept. The 3 is recognizable, but not easily. I like the bigger heads on the 2, but I think if you pulled the 3rd flower up and to the left you could fit them all in the bigger design. That being said, the single flower skull idea sounds very cool and would be easier to center.
Also… you could add a hand (if you’re not among the artists who despise drawing hands) holding the flowers and that might simply the base of the image… idk, I just feel like the leaves make the small image a bit on the busy side
HAA! That’s so funny that you say that about drawing hands because I am definitely among the artists that hate drawing hands lol rather, I’m not good at it at all haha 😅 but that does sound like a super cool idea!

The seeing blue red, orange red ect is more common in females. Women have more color-detecting cells in their retinas than men do so we see more colors shades.

Check your svg to make sure there are no extra paths in them. That is usually where i find what is causing the weird stuff.

You actually need to test it on the actual fabrik of the beany, but you could cut one beany open and use just one beany to see how the design turns out on the fabrik.
Someone told me about keyboard rugs & mug rugs the other day; it made me think of you. Don't know if you know what they are, but they'd be good ways to fill in space between bigger rugs.
Ohhh yeahhh!! Keyboard rugs! I’ve thought about mug rugs but I wasn’t sure if it was someone’s original idea & I didn’t wanna steal it. I wanna look into it & see about both of those because I do think that’d be a good idea!

Did you get more familiar with the *params* in inkstitch? I'm sorry to say, but your results just show "lazy" digitizing: Just using an svg closed shape (which will be interpreted as a fill) and default settings. Do you clean up the shapes/nodes? Some elements would work better as a satin, a line and maybe adjusting the filltype, stitch angle, underlay. Also are you sure with the stabilizer you put on top? It seems it's a stabilizer one put under for freestanding lace or embroidering towels. There is another wash away for the top to prevent the stitches from sinking in. From madeira for end users it's called Avalon, I think.
If you want to sell those beanies I recommend putting a little bit more effort into the quality of the stitch file, it is challenging, for sure, but also not rocket science ;-) - you can do that! I don't want to be mean, love your energy!

The hat designs are so cute! I actually started learning Inkstitch after finding out about it from your videos! I think you can use commands to edit the way the design stitches out to fix the problem with the gap, this video shows how you can do that.
