Chibs is the greatest showrunner of any show in history. I’m sure I saw an interview with James Cameron and he said Chibs was his hero that he hopes to emulate, also I’m sure I also read an interview with Laurence Oliver where he said that Jodie was the greatest actor he’d ever seen and he was sad he’d never get to see her Othello at the National Theatre.

@@alexzanderwright6711 The difference is that Love and Monsters' non-Doctor centric story and commitment to showing interactions of distant characters at least distinguishes it from most episodes of NuWho, regardless if it was bad or good.
Chibnall's run on the other hand so far, arguably amplify Moffat's flaws (having simultaneously grandiose yet inconsequential moments for a storyline; character development that isn't as compelling as Davies) and even Davies (the gradual ridicule of the Daleks, which Moffat made worse, and Chibnall also made worse), and that's just a small part of what made Chibnall's run fall flat for me.
What an incredible intro sequence! I can't agree more with the fantastic points you made. I really can't believe I'd never thought of it that way before!

In fact, schools should play his episodes of Doctor Who and Torchwood rahter than read Shakespear, or Homer, or whatever they read these days. You win. The 13th Doctor is officially redeemed in my eyes. It's actually a bit uplifting to think that someone can take what appears to be a completely mediocre performance by a group of amateurish actors that belong on a soap opera, a whole lot of burned-out writers who never really had time or inclination to think things through to logical conclusions and the same old music re-hashed and played at full-volume for all episodes to drown out the talking (and plot) to make the viewer feel like he/she/it/they must have missed something when they didn't, and with a bit of perspective and effort, turn that whole hulking garbage-truck around and put some lipstick on it and bam... it's a half load of trash-masterpiece! Only one problem... the Ruth Doctor is still a stupid idea and the whole 'timeless child' story is just s***. Great Video, though. Thanks for the effort. Now I have to get back to those DVDs that you mentioned...

I can’t believe Jodie Whittaker has been in this role for five fucking years. Longer than Eccleston, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi, yet she’s terrible and they were incredible.

I think this era is unfairly hated. It'll eventually experience the same Renaissance that the capaldi era had. Don't forget he was hated. Look at He'll Bent, everyone said it was the worst episode of doctor who, but even harbo is flipping the switch and defending it as a great finale to the heaven sent/face the ravenous arc of grief: denial and anger. Plus, jodie actually can play the doctor really well, despite what others would have you believe

I thought Jodie would have been, possibly, my favorite doctor if only she had gotten the same amazing writing Tennant and Smith got (for the most part.)
In fact, I will defend the 2-part timeless children special, specifically from a tone/character writing standpoint. I thought those two episodes themselves, if you ignore certain things (you know,) were actually fantastic, as a self-contained piece of media.
It took me way to long to realize what was happening.
All jokes aside, it's really been rubbish. I keep returning to give it a fresh watch with a mind to accepting it on its own terms, but every time, it's, at best, a crashing bore.
