Good video. This is a distro to follow up. I have been running it for a few days without issues. Few comments on your video. Google Chrome is already installed by default. So is Wine (8.0.2). It does work fine with .exe I have tried (thanks to the incredible wine dev team not Wubuntu) but may be not for all, like complex programs (Office ?). Steam run fine with my games. The system interface is slower then say Mint or Manjaro (I have both installed on the same machine too) but it has a more familiar interface. On a fast machine, it's a none issue.I found that it has tons of customization in the settings if you dig a bit. I does receive updates frequently also. Will this be my main distro ? No, not right now, at least because I do know Linux for many years and tried multiples distros. Mainly it is fun to try. I am glad it exist. Btw again, running it in a virtual environment IS not like the real hardware at all. You have to install it and make another video. Cheers !
The developers of Wubuntu aren't exactly trustworthy, so I'd keep this to curious eyes and only in a VM. You would actually get a better experience running Zorin OS (if we're using a direct comparison, plus the developers are far more trustworthy)
I run off HoloISO as a secondary Operating System for gaming and I'm keeping Windows 10 even after support I find the Firewall features including updates rather useless in this day in age most browsers offer basic security anyway. Microsoft isn't fear mongering me into giving up Windows 10 anytime sooner and not to mention Windows 11 is gonna run out of support as well eventually I would hold off until you hear news about Windows 12 unless Microsoft upholds their word that Windows 10 is the last version of Windows according to rumors all I think they're doing is focusing on the AI Copilot.
I tried the three available global themes and it is fine with me. For the sound you may try a more recent kernel like 6.2 (supported by Ubuntu 22.04). It sound difficult to do but it is not. Google : "updating kernel in Ubuntu".
After constant nagging from the distro to pay, I took the time to learn customizing Kubuntu itself. Now my OS, looking like Windows 12, is way nicer then this. Everything is free. With globals themes, it is really easy to do.
For me, installing it is impossible, it does boot from the USB but when it boots it's just normal Ubuntu, and trying to install that fails saying "cannot unmount cdrom"
I tried to install it on my Lenovo ideapad 510-15isk, and I couldn't get it to work. I'm running the laptop on different operating systems. I swap the SSD, and it works fine.
You can already take Ubuntu and make it look like Windows 11. The only thing Wubuntu has Wine etc already configured. That's a plus and for people that don't want to spend 2 hours theming it themselves.
Window 11 look in Linux is not that new, and no eula have been broken since all the software that are from Microsoft are also provided by Microsoft, the provided office are just electronic apps wich are launched via a browser 😅 so no piracy, and vine without stemdeck wouldn't got that far , even Microsoft had produced linux operating systems before they got the dos and later the windows 1.0 😅 that grafixal glitch happens because you also use screen capture, question did you assign the ram front disk or real ram cause that explains , and 6 cores is not that much what about the gpu ? Did you have a gpu pass through, or use the VMware 3d, which is emulated, and Debian systems are glitched before you don't update and second if you install payed software and don't have a license well those will break systems 😅 activation is a must

I don't see the need. It's 2024; if you can't understand a WIMP, you're not going to understand Windows. And since Microsoft changes the way Windows looks, and where various settings are hidden on a regular basis, is it really that hard dealing with a WIMP that's not exactly the same? Perhaps there's more to life than what something looks like.
if you're using cpu cores that are closed source, you're being spied on already. just so everyone is in the understanding. build an fpga with riscv cores, with open source externals, then you can start to begin caring if an OS is spying on you

Microsoft isn’t going to sue the developers because its not worth their time and if it brings people to try Windows, they’re happy. Its like free advertising for them and there’s a reason they can live with it. Its not like it takes anything away from Windows apart from the GUI.
why pay to have a windows clone if you can buy the real windows too? Linux is free and you can make linux look like any way you want for free, just another commercial video

This can be better made from Net installer and use DEBIAN for your project , KDE wayland desktop , the rest is all standard in KDE , from the taskbar to the iconpack ..it will never be Windows and my build work fine no nonsense ware Lite 32 bit and 64bit -and WHY would you > BECAUSE WE CAN , Why do we make IOS roms on ANDROID? Because We can ..don't ask these things or criticize our choices in look and feel . , enjoy it or stay on your windows
one of the best selling points of wubuntu y that at least is 100% free of microsoft virus and troyan horses. they should use this characteristics as a main selling point.! 😜 the other feature is that windows 11 system requirements dont run on some systems. so wubuntu wll let the user keep upgrading the Operating system for new technology!

Wish somebody do windows 7 Linux distro with classic theme and with start menu from xp.
Taskbar disappears if you change the default theme and there is no way to bring it back.

I don't see the point. You can do every one of these customizations on any Plasma desktop without paying $35.
Not really surprising that it is slow, you are running a VM inside a VM with a VM to run windows programs.

I booted up on a USB stick and was not impressed with it. The Copilot was something called Copilot Pro and looked like a paid service.

Maybe this can breathe new life into some of the older Win7 and 8 machines? No more support for Win7, and this is a LTS OS.

This "Wubuntu" OS is probably for people who just can't let go of Windows, for some reason.
Edge IS bloatware. It is super shady with it's telemetry and pulls history and bookmarks from chrome without your consent
