- Kind of torn on this one...not sure how I feel. This is just a very very quick look at Wubuntu.

For a second I thought this distro was called UWUbuntu. That would be ... Quite something.
UWUntu is a thing, though. Look it up.
i think that exists lol
Oh Boy do I have news for you
It exists,and it's called UwUntu
it (unfortunately) exists... It's called UwUntu
New Sub! Dryden, Mich.
Well done Sir!, Linux Mint has been my Flavor of Choice since it was Ver 5/6.
But lately Debian 12 Stock, is Crazy Awesome
Thank you and Thanks for the sub! I'll have to check it out, mostly used ubuntu and mint but i'll have to check out deb stock
i dont like this in the sense of "use any exe or windows app with wine" .... many apps dont work with Wine .... this seems deceptive to me
Agreed
If i could install this on my work computer and develop software the same way this would be pretty sweet, windows does use heaps of RAM in no time at all
Great video about Wubuntu here: ruclips.net/video/QQD3yx-JF2E/видео.htmlsi=J0Z8I-f8t6lNzjXO by Michael MJD TLDR? DON'T USE WUBUNTU.
Actually not only Skype, but both Edge and Teams are available for Linux as well and for quite a while now.
The thing with Ubuntu "flavors" is that they are all community builds. Sometimes they are builds with a different GUI like KUbuntu, but most of them are literally a themed build for some niche -- and none of them are official builds of Ubuntu as made by Canonical.
Edge & Teams even have Linux versions too now😆
Wonder if this will run Microsoft Outlook? Need to block off some time soon and try it!
Where to download wubuntu iso
I put this thing on my hard drive and it was sitting and doing its stuff there for two days .. then I switched back to the original Windows11. As all the Linux distros it has issues, bugs and such. For me Wine didn't work. I tried to install a few essential programs with it and got a message - Unexpected error occurred, installation aborted. So why the heck do I have to waste my time tinkering with Linux when Windows just works no matter what.
But yeah .. otherwise it looks exactly like its Windows counterpart, just works much faster.
2:54 Just like real Windows!
What is the point?? Is this disto number 1,432,765? Yeah because we need yet more linux distros. Yawn
exactly, except they are now apparently infringing copyright laws to try cater half-baked and half-functional garbage to the mass.
@@RealEpikCartfrenYTSo basically Lindows 2.
Even thought I would never pay for Windows, I'd actually pay for this if it really looked exactly like Windows and was able to properly run Widows apps and games.
Don't pay for this, trust me.
@@STONE69_ I said if. Ofc I'm not going to buy it in its current state.
Can this run Windows "modern" UI apps?
Adobe, Autodesk?.....
if you're talking about UWP apps then only some can run through Wine.
@@RealEpikCartfrenYT That is what I was thinking of yes. It's just that I often forget the proper term for them. It's a shame that support is limited. I'm also wondering how well support Windows games on Steam are?
@@j.s.b.6299 Linux users use Wine and Proton to play Windows games on steam. From what I've heard the support is getting decent, and some games may actually run better on Linux compared to Windows. Still not something I personally would be switching to Linux for.
@@j.s.b.6299 Bioshock 1 and 2 run fine on Linux.
Duke Nukem Forever, Ghostbusters run fine on Linux.
Battlefield 1 was running fine but then EA made some silly change. Some can run it. I can't became of some initial app thing.
Cyberpunk 2077 runs fine. There is no RTX support and I have AMD Radeon 6800 16 GB.
My other games are Linux executables.
The only game that has working RTX is Quake 2 RTX and it uses Vulkan directly.
Edge was ported to Linux.
Can you ext3nd it to multi monitor?
Its just a KDE theme. KDE has multimonitor support so I don't see why not.
At this point, I'd probably go with either Kubuntu or for low-end PCs Lubuntu. Regarding Windows, Windows 10 LTSB or Windows 10 LoT LTSC are probably the only good Microsoft operating system since Windows 7 I'd probably stick with in case anyone is hesitent on moving to a Linux-based OS.
As a lifelong Windows user, I'm still using Windows 7 on some of my computers. Only my gaming laptop has Windows 10 on it, except I debloated it to some extent.
Using windows 11 cutdown version
(gost spectre)
Ram usage 1 gb
This thing is absolutely loaded with trademark infringement and stolen assets such as the icons and wallpapers. And to be honest, this is the OS equivalent of those cheap Chinese knockoffs of game consoles. The only reason why it's not already Cease And Desist'd is because no one gives a crap about this project. If it ever became a thing and Microsoft found out about it, it'd be taken down. What a piece of garbage.
Capitalist IP laws be damned tbh.
This 100%
What's the difference between this and those fake iPhones that have Android on them that's skin to look like iOS?
TPM can be circumvented.

@@jims_junk 🤣🤣🤣
@@jims_junk that's literally just the Google website 💀
exactly
I don't care what engine I have under the bonnet as long as it looks and feels like XP.
Hate to say but they do this with windows distros
Lindows again?!
lol I said the same thing
lindows is still going, as linspire instead
Microsoft 365???
I wonder if Microsoft knows these people are infringing all kinds of Copyrights and Trademarks on Windows? Particularly since it's a commercial endeavor, which means they're stealing from Microsoft and illegally selling what they stole. I assume these people are not in the US and are in fact from a country that has no respect for intellectual property laws (and a lot of state-sponsored surveillance…)
That or they're just not very bright, in which case this isn't gonna end well for them.
This is kinda too bad, because an easy to install Linux distribution with an instantly familiar (but not blatantly copied) UI which came preconfigured to run Windows software reasonably properly out of the box WOULD be a great thing for many people. It'd even be worth financially supporting such a distribution for the benefit of family members who really don't need to be on Windows, but don't really have the skill to learn a whole lot about the inner workings of Linux.
Sadly this isn't gonna be it.
Bro yap
It's based on powertoys, so u are talking crap...
I wonder how many programs Microshaft has stolen and integrated into Winblows ?
Maybe think about that.
I smell crappi crappi crappi, sheepy sheepy sheepy.
There does exist a distro designed to run Windows software: Nobara.
Microsoft is about to lock out a lot more users of older PC's. If you want to keep running up to date Windows apps, then something like this could be the solution. I know you can configure any version of Linux to run Windows apps, but a lot of people don't want to go through extensive modifications of a vanilla Linux, to make it more Windows-like. A Linux that runs Windows apps out of the box, without any additional work required, is perfect for the less technically oriented people out there.
I use Edge because it is vastly much nicer to work with then Google Chrome so what it has bad thing no different than Chrome junk in it too you're splitting hairs here .
It really is that piece of crap WindowsFX/LinuxFX in disguise
lol you moved trash to trash
is not compatible with Windows applications, but maybe later will be, nice step forward anyway! Bravo developers, destroy completely Microsoft rubbish!
I never find RAM to be an issue. If you keep worrying about RAM, you should be working hard to make more money to buy more RAM. Easy.
Soldered on.
I was using Windows for 20 years (ever since the day I was born) and this is the most saddest and also most illegal attempt at trying to cater Linux as a replacement to Windows. Not only is this copyright infringement on Microsoft's intellectual property, with an almost 1 to 1 recreation of Windows UI, but even IF this wasn't sugar coated to look like Windows 11, which I admit sucks as I'm a Windows 7/10 holdout, I still would NEVER touch Linux in my life.
this was the most diabolical thing i've read this month
@@robertplayz9157 yes I am and I will never change. Microsoft good even when they make bad decisions
lucky you not administrating any servers or networks and just being average casual user🥴 indeed diabolic👺
@@RealEpikCartfrenYT really naively to say you will never change.. will you live till the day when opensource community will beat closed-source once again?
windows with its 1995 tools in 2023 OS looks pretty shitty compairing to basically any linux out there
@@pamhunametalle9152 foss is a joke. I used some foss programs and the only two that ever worked are chromium and audacity. rest can never replace tried and true closed source programs.
