Being born in 55 I had the pleasure of train spotting at Bournemouth Station in the early sixties and saw many of these beautiful beasts in work. Also watching them pounding up the Parkstone Bank to Branksome Station was a sight to behold. Great days and good to see these magnificent locos are still doing the job intended. Superb collection.... Thanks
What a great video. Takes me back to my train-spotting days on the Southern Region.. Bullied 'pacifics' were my all-time favourite locos back in the 60's. Nice to see the very same ones I 'copped', restored and running again all these decades later. Fabulous.
Thanks for the video, recalls the sweet memories of childhood.Born in 1940,the golden age of steam & (the sun never set over the Great British Empire).God save the Queen.Thank you GB.
Many thanks in the first instance for capturing all these magnificent machines in their splendour and then posting for our pleasure to view. Great hour spent in my "shed" enjoying all this in the lockdown with a can or two of beer. Thanks again!
Wonderful photography, superb locations, and great sound. As a technology it had everything. You have created a little gem. Please keep it going. An Oscar next time. It deserves it. Many thanks . Rmb
Really enjoyed that - wonderful that so many are now operational - I remember visiting Barry Island and seeing them all lined up in a very sorry state, so this is quite wonderful to see!
34086 219 Squadron and 21C166 Spitfire were considered candidates for preservation in the 1960s but 21C123 Blackmoor Vale was chosen instead for being in good condition than the other two.
A great video of Southern Railway locos, which I love. I have never understood why rail devotees would restore a classic Southern railway steam locos like Q class, S15 and the un-rebuilt "spam Cans" like City of Wells etc. and then paint them in BR colours and not Southern. On the other hand it is nice to see these trains running without a diesel!
To be fair, 6233 started off from Plymouth cold, where as Tangmere was warmed up well having come on at Par. Still, it was the best Bullied performance I've ever witnessed.
bit late to the party, but this video really highlights the audible change from the spam cans with the chain valve gear and the walschaerts found on the rebuilt examples. Originals much smoother.

The Q1's were black, as were S15, and the un-rebuilt Bullied Pacifica spent most of their working lives in BR livery.
I love steam locos
There you are, 6233, that's how to climb Hemerdon - with sanders working well.
To be fair, 6233 started off from Plymouth cold, where as Tangmere was warmed up well having come on at Par. Still, it was the best Bullied performance I've ever witnessed.
