Whoa. My man. Idk how you're gonna read this. Maybe someone will read it to you? Sittin here eatin noodles and said out loud to myself "this dude plays blind? How?" I hope you stick to it man!
Ngl kinda the best way to prepare for a song of a calibur you might not be ready for at the time i did it lol ive been playing since i was 4 so u goood
I think this song is supposed to be an example of left-hand string damping, while a constant boogie rhythm is being played with the right hand like strumming chords. Yes, Satriani is picking the strings individually, but he is at a different level than you or I - and maybe we just can't see it, but the same constant rhythm is still there in his hands. Anyhow, my 2 cent is that learning this song should start with learning to keep a constant right hand rhythm.
You sir are the best person to teach a Satriani lesson like this! Thumbs up to you because it takes a special gift to be able to teach a technique like this and you do it well, thank you for sharing!
Just found you, such a perfectly laid out lesson, bite size chunks adding up to a whole. Thank you, though you do speed up a bit on the final playthrough. Lol
cheers Carl! thanks so much for all these great lessons! I'm a huge fan of Satch and I'm learning a lot and making good progress thanks to your videos.
Very nice, finally i got the satch boogie in my fingers, i`ve been playing it wrong a couple of places for a long time, due to my lack of understanding notes, tabs, etc. i must listen, learn and rewind, and do it ten more times usually with a cd, but with this i got satching after watcing one time. So we are spoiled in these you tube times with tabs and learning videos, cool. RRR
Love these videos!!you have helped me much learn satch songs.can you please finish surfing with the alien lesson.I'd love to see more satch songs like crystal planet or rasberry jam delta v or mystical potato grove thing.keep up the great vids man!
Well, you could have the exact same kind of guitar and still sound different. Not to mention the effects and amp you use. You can play it with any guitar though, no worries. :)
I am a blind guitarist and can easily follow along with your videos. Ive learned a lot from this guy. thank you man.

I am Carl Brown's biggest fan and I have always thought he is the best but him being able to play/teach this so well solidifies it for sure!
Thanks bro, been faking it for years, time to get it right!
Same here! Hope you nailed it!

Thank you so much Sir, you are seriously a great Instructor.... Now I have no excuses not to learn it and play it..!!!
Any tips for preventing my upper lip from doing the Billy Idol thing while playing this song?
+Alex McMillan At first, I laughed at your comment. Now my jaw hurts from moving it so much trying to play this song. I get it now.
+Eduardo Elneser I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Just go with it! :D
this is so much easier than trying to read it off the tab with numbers all over the place, thanks for the lesson
and you shred by the way
This guy is a great instructor, I learned this song fairly easily from him. Now I can impress Alexandra Maiolo if I ever meet her :)

Here we go! Once again, I’m coming to Carl for the correct way to play this 😊
Just found you, such a perfectly laid out lesson, bite size chunks adding up to a whole. Thank you, though you do speed up a bit on the final playthrough. Lol
Great lesson! Thanks. Can’t wait to learn the other parts.

I 'm pretty good at Satch stuff but I've always struggled with this one. Now I've got it. Thank you!
I’ve been trying from guitar for the practicing Musician.
His seems a bit different in the arrangement
Have you happen to look it?
@@Circledriver have not seen that version, will have to check it out
Thanks Carl

Thank you verry much for the free lesson! Im performing this song and can't wait to play it:)
4:00 to 4:20 bit and I'll be happy for today
GREAT job on this, Karl! I hear the distortion and delay; any other pedals?
One of the first riffs i learned
Lol, starting off strong huh? I couldn't touch these riffs until a few years into playing. XD
Nice! Which effects do you use for this powerful tone?
Awesome stuff man. Unfortunately, I only have an acoustic guitar at the moment, but one day I will be this good!
Are you that good yet?
@Slushy72 Came here to comment that too…
war by joe satriani guitar lesson pls?
Excellent
palm mute part is sick ,in the riff Pm its easy but not now
Rockin!!😍😍
Collest bluesy riff!
Thanks u bro. love u
amazing.
Carl love u man!
Around the 10:00 are you sweep picking? I've seen guys on RUclips play that part while alternate picking.
Backtoshallabal he specifically says he’s sweep picking the little diminished figure c’mon
It's played by Joe with alternate picking. Watch his video on how to play it if you don't believe me. It's pretty quick though
hi you should get a lesson on joe satriani ten words think you could do at
ive got liken the exact same guitar as you! lol
Yesto Thats what i ment! :3
What kind of distortion is he playing with? I don't think I have the same overdrive setting he has? Someone help me?
I personally use a boss DS1, Joe Satriani also uses one, he also has a pedal called the Satchurator which sounds closer to the original sound.
Yeah right.
do i need a certain guitar or does it work with any because i heard to get certian tones you need certain guitars and i REALLY want to play this
+Angel Zavala you can use whatever as long as its comfortable for you to play on. Im playing it on a Loomis 7.
I think satriani uses an Ibanez which is what I'm using with a Floyd rose floating tremolo
Well, you could have the exact same kind of guitar and still sound different. Not to mention the effects and amp you use. You can play it with any guitar though, no worries. :)
Great job but just the sound of the strat gets me 😂
7:04
12:05
You sound a bit like Joe Bonamassa
It’s a great lesson but when he’s playing the full riff he needs to add some feel to it
I wished you couldve gone through faster, thanks though
Holy shit good job though you did mess up you did it
Sounds rushed like you need a click
But other than that great lesson
I guess only cowboys tune up together....smh
Para que carajo tenes puesto ese efecto? Solo confunde
Wouldn’t swing if you hung him
Would be nice if you'd learn the song properly before making a lesson video.. =D
how would you no if you're here trying to learn the song
Doesnt have the same feel as satch boogie. I still appreciate that he made the vid though
Cheapguitarguy Of course it doesn't have the same feel. There's not a bass and a drum playing at the same time !!
R20set oh satch what you doing here?
R20set why don’t you teach it then ?? Since you are so awesome.. or play it so you can at least show what you got .. big mouthed dummy
