- Had an 8hr drive for a shoot of the hatch for S3 mag and this guy in the SS 350 whp calls me out on my stock k20 226hp street tires. I included all video of the drive up to his spot and haven't edited the video of the drive out there because the guy said I cheated and he smoked me so I left it as shot. I didn't really want to race but they all talking down on my boy Kenny and my hatch... I had no idea this foo races on the highway but I was committed at this point so I went for it. I don't recommend for anyone to do this, we were all taking a risk doing it... be safe out there and enjoy

Own a stock Redline, recently beat a stock 2015 Civic Si. It was a fun race. Other Honda models include two RSX's. One stock, other bolt-ons, both lost. Gotta a buddy that I haven't raced, but I will most likely lose to him, cause he's bolted AND tuned.... put it simply, his shit rips. All for good fun though
Hell yeah, a buddy/co-worker of mine has an 04 Ion and it's honestly pretty quick considering all the audio gear he's got weighing it down. Here in the next few months he is going to be buying a near mint redline that his cousin is waiting to sell to him. I'm pretty sure at that point when the base ion isn't his relied upon daily, he'll probably go crazy with bolt-ons and high strength internals while using the redline as a fun DD. About a month ago I actually just bought an 09 cobalt LS, 5 speed manual. Nothing special by any means but it's stick and fun for me to drive. I'm actually gonna be installing a cat-back exhaust tomorrow, excited for that.
It's nice though, having a friend that pretty much has the same vehicle as you; especially when you're both into cars. Hell, I just got my new Haynes manual in the mail (always buy one with a new vehicle) and I can use that one manual for cobalts, ions, and hhr's 😂 haha my buddy will definitely be borrowing that book from me at some point.
Basically 1-2 minutes of talking crap, 7-8 minutes of cruising and 30 seconds of racing. Good job mate

Full bolt ons with a tune you can make 350...
muffler adds 20 horse power....intake adds 30 horsepower.....racing stripes adds 12 horse power.......

That last shift, ouch. Hope you got that fixed. Sounds like you tried to shift without having the clutch pushed in all the way.
Once upon many moons, there was a Cobalt SS with a Vtec Killer sticker on the rear window who lost to my 99 civic ex with b18c1 w/ b16 tranny and simple bolt ons.
I have a 08' SS and no doubt weight, high revs and good shifting won this race. My car is absolute garbage from a launch too. There has to be a good 500lb or more difference between these cars no?. I remember when I had my LS1 T56 car and I ran my buddies SRT8 Charger I pulled him in 3rd gear a good car and a half and I wasn't even that good at shifting back then. Just that weight difference is key.

Popped to 5th gear wrong, I could hear the clutch disk scraping by by not putting the clutch pedal all the way down. Gotta be careful w that mate, could mess up ur transmission.

I respect all cars and all engines but, cobalts are 2,900 lbs wet and stock without a tune make around 250-260hp to the wheel. there's no way that thing is making over 300 without e85 or a turbo upgrade. That Honda is clean though no doubt about it. That big ass wing on the Cobalt just makes it look rice as hell lol!

not true at all. ive raced civics with a build similar to this one. and torque is torque there's no way that balt will hookup faster than that civic especially if the balt uses the built in launch control. That option is for track use only
the cobalt with the turbo year came with launch control and no lift shift.......can't really say they suck from a dig you just have to know wtf you're doing. However don't mess with a k series.

That cobalt was 240whp aka stock tune... just with some bolt ons. You weigh about 800 pounds lighter you should of course win. Tuned with those bolts and it would be a different story. Just the truth lol. Guy has no idea what he’s talking about.

No way your civic beats the 400 lbs/ft tq of the Cobalt. Sorry. If he's making 350 hp he's got at least that in tq. The balt is a low 12 second car at that power rating.

K20 swap light weight and better traction. Sorry son it aint all about who got more power on the street. Its all about who can put power to the ground better especially doing a dig on the street. Oh yeah driver matter the most. Vasile can drive like a boss too.

Cobalt driver needs a driver mod terrible that's just embarrassing I had a lsj turbo and mine was like 350 500 horsepower on 80 pound injectors my Turbo was peaking at 25 lb of boost that kid had no idea how to drive that car is only reason that K20 when he took off like it did. Now the driver of the Civic knows how to drive and definitely knows how to race.

Only reason I say this is because I drug my buddies half stripped rsx with a full bolt on tuned k. Make like 260 wheel and my hhr ss was completely stock. If that Cobalt was really 300 wheel or a better driver... He would've busted you day in day out especially with slicks.

Stock they're about 250/250 wheel. Full bolt ons with a good tune on pump you'll see 330-385/350-400 wheel.

nice run brother your EG killed him. but should understand when it comes to an eg hatch and Kswap you have no chance to beat it unless you are making close or twice the power from the Eg hatch.. . even if the Cobalt SS boosted turbo and with slicks tires on still mad slow as fuck, no chance at all unless the Cobalt was making 500HP then yeah he will win, but with 350hp too slow. Cobalt's weight its 3000 lbs no fucking way he could win on a short 1/4 mile not at all and eg hatch's weight 1950-2100 lbs, that's 900 fucking lbs difference it's a not 2 handbag's full of potatoes lol hahaha... eg hatch already has the upper hand with the curb weight all it needs a new Heart a Kswap :D hahaha.. Now I weight 200lbs 5'7" tall right so let's say 4x guys my weight and height your eg hatch plus with you as the driver right that's 5 guys total inside the eg hatch that's close near the weight from the Cobalt SS with a single driver in the Cobalt now you can tell the EG hatch will be slow with so many guys in the small hatch.. :D and the Cobalt might have a chance to win if he doesn't fuck up on the shifting changing gears.
