Great video! I’ve actually been the last summer to a GnR concert (it was the first big concert of my life) and I enjoyed it very much. Of course Axel doesnt have so much voice these days but Slash was a monster! And also Motley crue is one of my favourites, I love everythig from their debut up to the album Dr feelgood, after than that I didnt check out anything, and I honestly think you would actually find one or 2 more songs that you would enjoy on an album like Theater of pain which is very different, or other songs from Dr feelgood. Also their cover of Helter skelter is for me, a great cover Anyway great video as always!
Went to Boston to see the Dropkick Murphys 2010. From New York. The funniest thing I Saw was a Red Sox Fan Wearing A T-Shirt that said "Jeter Likes Coldplay" 😅
I've known some people who have totally hated The Doors. Usually describe as circus music with a drunken lounger singer with bad poetry. Or AC/ DC, releasing the same album over and over again, 3 chords, and dying cat/ Elmo from Sesame Street vocals.
Hey Larry. This video is going really well and I think the shorts you have produced are complimenting it very well. Would love to get your feedback without going into actual numbers. All the best. Dave✅✅
Dave, I think it is simply because of using "hate" in the title, supposedly that word gets the views. I was just paying homage to the Prog Corner's video which was doing really well. Some other RUclips channels are also doing this idea (and they give props to Scot's video) and it is just for the fun of the topic matter. I don't really hate any band, I just dislike them as I mention in the video. I had no idea the video would do this well. I've been on RUclips for over 18 years and I never know which videos will do well for views and which ones won't... Thanks!
A very fun idea and video!. I strongly agree with Limp Bizkit, Nickelback and Aerosmith. I strongly disagree with The Eagles and Coldplay. A controversial choice for me would be The Sex Pistols. I respect how influential they were, however I could just never get into there music xxx.
Before i start the video, i reflect on my top 10 "hated/disliked" bands/artists: - Coldplay - Dave Matthews Band - Oasis - U2 (after "Joshua Tree") - Steely Dan - Ted Nugent - Nightwish (with Tarja) - Babyshambles/ Pete Doherty - Elvis Costello - Foo Fighters
I got into Aerosmith and Heart during their "commercial" years. I think Coldplay were pretty good in the 2000's, but not so much, after that. I like Bon Jovi's earlier music. I like KISS, up until their "MTV Unplugged" album. The Eagles are one of my favorite bands. I love their songs and their group harmonies. My favorite era is when they acquired Joe Walsh. Guns N' Roses had one of the greatest debut albums of all time. But had diminishing returns, after that. "Use Your Illusion I and II" could have made a great 70 min. double album. But, there's too much "filler", as they are now.
I loved everything Coldplay did from Parachutes to Mylo Xyloto. Their most recent albums are either boring or make me cringe. I mean when you’re doing songs with Selena Gomez and BTS instead of sticking to your Proggy-alternative rock sound it’s a big turn off.
I imagined as soon as I saw the title that this video would "sell" well, and I was right! Was wanting to hear your take on the bands you disliked. Not at all surprised to see The Eagles and Guns N' Roses on your list. Deterioration of band quality over time seems to be a given. I cannot think of a single band, other than arguably The Beatles and possibly The Yardbirds, whose work got better over time. All the other ones had strong starts (or rocky starts and a great early middle period), then petered out.
Hey Larry... I agree with most of your list except for two, Heart and Guns N Roses. Early Heart is great but I also really like their 80's material even with all the "80's pop sheen". As for GNR I rank Appetite For Destruction pretty far up there on any all time album lists. I love every song on it. Yes I know their output after Appetite can be spotty and Axl's voice isn't for everyone but I do enjoy them overall... As for the rest of your list, spot on! Take care
The Doors...AC/DC...The Ramones...Bad Company...Status Quo...and virtually every punk band from virtually every country in the world. They're all interchangeable anyway. 3 'new' bands I discovered recently whom I definitely recommend: Tangent, UNIT and Myth Of Logic. Both Tangent and Myth Of Logic are (kind of) progressive rock but in a 21st century mode while UNIT (who've been going since 1997) are a prog-adjacent group consisting of 3 Jewish chaps from Scotland who recently released their 53rd album. So there.
I love The Doors, The Ramones and like Bad Company and AC/DC. All 4 bands of the bands sound completely different so I don't think I will take your recommendations, thanks.
This was a good video. I was afraid it was going to a 'joke' video of some kind but I appreciated your honesty in revealing the names of some bands for which you've lost interest or just don't care for. I like a few of these bands (and I LOVE KISS) but I can see what you're saying about all of them. Interesting stuff and your opinions are well-founded without being nasty.
I love Heart and Aerosmith 80’s music because that’s when I started listening to music during my teenage years. Heart’s self titled and Aerosmith’s Pump are great albums in my opinion.
I grew up in the 80s and most of the "rock music crowd" in high school liked Permanent Vacation and Pump, even the metalheads in denim jackets and Metallica T- shirts. I've never understood it when people say there is no worthwhile post 77 Aerosmith. Yes, I prefer their 70s work like most people, but it's not a total black and white definition of "early Aerosmith great, later Aerosmith suck" to me. The so called "sellout" Aerosmith isn't as much of a change in sound as some bands like Rush, Queen, Black Sabbath or Genesis. And those bands were still making good music regardless of the change in sound.
After Aerosmith got sober and got back together in the mid 80s they were like a neutered version of themselves. No grit, just one polished turd after another. If you enjoy it then that's great. I'm definitely with Larry on this one.
My personal top 10: 1. Green Day 2. Joy Division 3. Bullet For My Valentine 4. Nightwish 5. Five Finger Death Punch 6. NOFX 7. Pearl Jam 8. Warrant 9. Lacrimosa 10. Jane's Addiction
A lot of the bands I dislike are not really bad but are so overplayed I can't stand hearing them anymore. Bands like Queen, U2, Fleetwood Mac , and Aerosmith. Then there are the groups and singers I just can't stand like Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Idol, and Counting Crows. I was 14 when Bon Jovi got huge. I always thought they were boring, they permanently damaged rock by bringing in the hair metal scene. Cold Play is the millennial equivalent of Air Supply. Limp Bizcuit is fratboy monkey head rock. Only good for prowrestling.
Uncanny I agree with every single one of these: 1. Bon Jovi, I have no idea why they don't get mentioned more often in these lists, I've never understood why anyone like(d) that bad; it doesn't even sound like rock music to me, maybe some kind of diluted, commercialised version of it. 2. Kiss gets mentioned every time 😅 and rightfully so. Something tells me they don't care, the main two protagonists possibly recognising their lack of talent relative to others early on, the music was just a side-note to the stage show. 3. Coldplay came along when the English music press was desperate for half-talented English bands. They just luckily landed in the right niche because the other contenders were terrible...
Can’t argue with any of the bands on this list. Maybe it’s all the overplayed radio songs and the fact none of these bands are great to begin with. I also hate U2 and Bruce Springsteen and his E(ego) Street Band.
I can't stand Springsteen lifeless music that's good for beer commercials with long winded rambling lyrics that go on and on and on. Springsteen is like Bob Dylan and I can't stand Bob Dylan. U2 bores me to tears another pompous self righteous smug band that loves the smell of their own farts.
Some of these bands on your list I would put on my list for the same reasons as you do. Because they aren’t my type of music. And some of them maybe I do actually hate. But I do agree with your number 1 pick.
I’m with you on most of these. I do have several Dave Matthews Band and Eagles albums but I don’t think Don Henley is someone I would like to hang out with.
Most Hated No.4: Limp Bizkit. Ha! He doesn't even wanna talk about them, utter contempt. Beautiful. I mean, I generally tune out of that 90s-onwards Foo Fighters/Block 182/Niravana/Arctic Monkeys/Kings Of Leon etc. miasma of nothing. They all sound the same to me, unless the odd one surprises with a song here and there. I barely know them but they don't sound like anything to bother with. When you started: "I don't even wanna talk about them" and it sounded like you wanted to die, surely nothing worse than Maroon5 would suffice though! And you can't get worse than that, but you can EASILY be as bad, as so many things are.
Metallica AC/DC Black Sabbath (apart from the first two albums) Steely Dan Green Day U2 and KISS and nearly everything recorded in the last 10-15 years
I got to give you credit for keeping up with music all these years. Many of these bands I don’t even know nor do I want to know like Nickelback or Limp Bizkit but I have to agree with you Larry, all of the bands I know from your list are terrible or mediocre at best, and I particularly agree with your hate for KISS and Dave Matthews Band. Among my least favorites that you haven’t mentioned are Fleetwood Mac and (with the exception of their first album) Led Zeppelin.
my top 10: 10- Yes 9- Emerson, Lake & Palmer 8- Limp Bizkit (although I respect Wes Borland) 7- Chicago 6- Coldplay 5- Poison 4- Eagles 3- Kiss 2- Nickelback 1- Imagine Dragons
That was a pretty good hate list-I concur. And you didn't include any band that's one of my favourites. So well done! And as you love the word "hate" so much: Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate. 😂
For me it's Primus, The Rolling Stones, Prefab Sprout, Scritti Politti, Coldplay, Van Halen (with DLR), Hipsway, The Clash, The Cure and The Style Council.
Pretty much nailed it. About Motley and GNR. I liked them growing up but then, I grew up. That sort of music and or genre seems juvenile to me now. Got no time for bad music. Life’s too short. Here’s my top 10 In. No. Particular. Order. Green Day Nickleback George Michael Poison Bon Phony Puddle of Crud Oasis Fleetwood Mac(their popular era. The pre Buckingham Nicks albums are awesome) Sammy Hagar Billy Joel.
Loved this video. Good to see you using the word “Hate”. No PC here… as for me, totally agree with your choices… I would have Coldplay also on my list, as well as, (controversially) The Who. I just have never been able to get into them. Also, The Kinks for some reason… except “you really got me”.
I like Kiss, Guns n Roses and Aerosmith. I have some Motley Crue albums and they’re not bad. I can’t think of bands I hate but here are some I have tried listening to but can’t get into: The Kinks, The Byrds, Jethro Tull, Rush, King Crimson, Tears for Fears, The Band, Tool, Blue Oyster Cult and Oasis, plus many more. I will admit that I’m slowly coming around to Rush - as soon as I get past or get use to that singer’s voice then I might be onboard with them.
Frickin Meatloaf! When I was a teen I bought the "Bat Out Of HeII" album just because of how cool the cover looked. With a cover like that this band has got to rock! Never made that mistake again. 🤣
I have a soft spot for a decent chunk of the bands on your list. (I.E. Heart, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, Eagles) However, I don't think I enjoy them enough for me to go out of my way to collect more than 1 or 2 best of albums from them. Thank goodness those exist! 1 exception would be _Appetite For Destruction_ and the _Use Your Illusion_ albums from G N' R. A fun list, regardless, Larry.
I'm not a fan of Guns N' Roses, and Axl Rose is easy to dislike as a person, but their track "November Rain" is one of my all-time favorite rock songs. I'm with you on Mötley Crüe, I've never really cared for anything I've heard from them, and I do indeed dislike Vince Neil's vocals. It's interesting to become aware of the fairly widespread dislike for the Eagles, considering their secure classic rock status. I grew up with their music as radio staples, and I always feel at home hearing them--I definitely like them, and likely always will. There really aren't any artists or groups that I outright hate, though there are musicians I dislike as human beings, such as Ted Nugent, Kid Rock, and Kanye West. There's also plenty of music I dislike, but plenty that I love, and I don't give a lot of energy to the works that I don't enjoy.
I was discussing the top two bands on your list: Motley Crue and GNR. What I realized is that they were decent when my musical scope was like 30-40 bands. Right now I know of 1400+ bands. Simply put, they're not good enough if you listen to a lot of metal from all over the world. They're just marketed well.
Most of the music I listened to as a child and teenager I no longer listen to. I prefer the 60's and 70's to the 80's and beyond. One group that I used to like, but turned against, was Duran Duran. When I took a closer look at their songs and videos, I realized they were sexist. The fact that most of their fans were female was probably because they were so good looking at the time. If they took a second look at the group's songs and videos, they would probably have thought otherwise.
KISS is a perfect example of that for me. Liked them as a pre-teen and early teen; probably as much for their look as music. Got older and realized these guys in their crazy getups and clown makeup aren't really that talented.
Agree with most of your list. I like most of Heart though with the exception of Heart, Bad Animals and parts of Brigade. They're good before and after those.
I hate videos about bands I hate but I loved this one so much I am going to do my list..stay tuned…Agree with some of your choices..some like Limp Bisquit I can’t say I hate because they annoyed me so so much without ever hearing their music..so I can’t really hate them..Can I? Maybe I can? Great stuff Larry..
People are sheep, they jump on bandwagons. Why bother actually listening to a band in the hope you might like them when it's easier and more fun to just hate them?
Kathleen Turner in 'Serial Mom'-"Don't say hate, dear, hate is a very bad word." I'm sorry, we in the Twilight Zone? I thought 'hate' had been an outdated, archaic and long abandoned notion ever since social media decided EVERYTHING and EVERYONE in the long dead music scene is effing wonderful just cos EVERYONE SAYS SO!
10. U2 9. B 52's 8. Journey, two or three good songs the rest blah 7. Bon Jovi 6. 1980's Queen 5. Loverboy 4. Pearl Jam 3. Van Hagar 2. Poison 1. Metallica post Justice For All
I just want to add, there's plenty of bands that came out in the 90's that I'm sure I'd hate like Limp Bizcut and Nikelback but I didn't put them because I couldn't tell you the name of one single song. I just know I hate them from the 3 seconds I've heard of them
@@keithkoenig5320I have an idea for a video. Songs I thought were cool when I was young that that I now hate. 10. Another One Bites the Dust-Queen 9. Do You Think I'm Sexy-Rod Stewart 8. Take a Chance on Me-Abba 7. Private Eyes- Daryl Hall & John Oats 6. Abracadabra- Steve Miller Band 5. Every Motley Cue song 4. Every Peter Cetera song post '82 3. Def Leppard's Hysteria 2. Every Aerosmith song written by Desmond Child 1. Rock Lobster-B 52's
This list is solid I think. My only disagreement is DMB but that's an understandable pick. The jam band genre they are in is a really acquired taste and it's not for everyone. I personally love the band but hey.... I also am not a Coldplay fan with one exception which is their album Viva La Vida which in my opinion is a great music album even though I don't like the band l Aerosmith I agree but I like "Jaded"
I agree with most of the list. Heart definitely lost something when the original band started splintering. I am planning to see a Heart tribute band with two of the original members this fall. No desitlre to see the current band's tour, though Ann's solo stuff is interesting.
For me I would have to add the Grateful Dead easily I just cant with them, and similar to them is the band Phish, if it follows me having to be on something to get into your band and music I am going to pass on that. Though I don't hate GNR I think they are the most overrated band ever, basically in the Hall of Fame for one record. I also and people will scream for saying this, but not into Pink Floyd I mean a song or two here and there, but similar reasoning as to why I cant get into the Grateful Dead. CREED and NICKELBACK would be on my list, KISS I have to agree on them also, maybe an album or two by them by just too much nonsense and drama from them. Ted Nugent also would be on the list, not even for the things he says sometimes, I just find his music mostly immature and juvenile most of the time, though he is a great guitarist you almost forget that he is.
Most Hated No.3: Nickelback. Okay, so this band seems to invoke hate in everybody, and that's the only thing I know them for. Their most well-known 2 singles I remember-'How You Remind Me' and 'Rockstar', apparently an even higher charter in the UK I never even heard before, so they can be escaped. They just have a sound like every American does that things boys with guitars are cool but actually aren't. But if you DO hate them, I'm utterly nonplussed why you begin PRAISING them for being 'talented guitar players'-what does that matter? And actually, if everyone WAS talented in this way, there'd be NO bad playing and NO bad songs. This makes no sense at all, and even LESS when you add that "wanna make anything that's commercial that radio will play"-well THAT'S not talented, ANYONE can and will DO that. The only way to sell in this world and certainly in America is to sound like everything else. Back when there was a music scene 100years ago it was a crime virtually to be like anything else and the kiss of death! Naturally these dolts want to sell and get respect-2 things you can easily do in a tasteless, unchallenging long-dead music scene. No takers, so no givers. They're pointless I'm sure, but again, in a world with slagdonna, Maroon 5, Boyzone, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Adele, Katy Perry, Rita Ora, Beyonce Knowles, Rhianna, Taylor Swift, Nysnc, rap.., how are they any worse? Certainly not when I can get away from them, but I guess in Canada you can't. And are you being sarcastic I guess, cos those lovely little noisy boyband boys ARE from your lovely little part of the world. Whoops.
#1 is high on my list. I will admit I love November Rain, the only song of theirs I admit I love! It was funny how every time you were done with a band, you said with a giggle “I hate them!” 😆
I do like these bands a bit more than you do, some more than others, but I completely understand why these are your most hated. I'm also not a fan to half these bands and the other half, like you said, were good, then got progressively bad as time went on.
there are a couple of bands that I am very familiar with their music I hate and some I don't like much other than maybe a couple of songs that I can tolerate. "Queen" I hated those guys. "Rush" to quote the Mr. Mayo guy a bunch of random notes in no particular order. "Genisis" is an excellent cure for insomnia. "Eagles" I agree with your assessment. Some will be mad about these they are a lot of peoples favorites not mine. I know its not the ones you mentioned.
Yeah, I pretty much agree with your list. Did you ever notice how much Coldplay sounds like Dave Matthews Band? It's funny how both of them ended up on this list. Motley Crue and Guns and Roses were one album wonders so far as I was concerned. With both Crue and GnR the novelty wore off very quickly.
Queen were doing what almost all big 1970s bands were doing in the 80s, adapting their sound or risk just fading away. Black Sabbath, Rush, Yes, Genesis, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, they all took the 1980s sheen and polish on board. Virtually all fans of these bands prefer the 70s stuff. I like about half of Queens 80s output to some degree, but their creativity was mostly gone.
@@MichaelWHSame here. Jazz was their last good album but it wasn't great. For me everything from their first album through Day at the Races was top tier stuff. News of the World was a pretty good album but it seemed lacking in some way compared to earlier albums. The Game was the beginning of the end and Hot Space was a huge disappointment. By The Works, even though it sounded like they were trying to put their old sound in some of the songs, I came to accept that the band was never going back to what made them Queen.
Close to hate: Kiss, Van Morisson and Bruce Springsteen ( great composer. Hate his performance and his voice). Hate: U2 ,seen them 3 times live, but can't stand Bono. BonnJovi, Mötley Crue, Pearl Jam, Def Leppard and The Clash (sorry Larry).
Most Hated No.5: The Eagles Not thought of perfection in a band/act as a bad thing! Or a thing to hate. Hell, if everyone was as perfect at making perfect records that the perfect like of Kim Wilde, ABBA, Bangles, Duran Duran, A-ha, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Sandra and Alphaville make, for instance, there'd be VERY little to hate in the music scene. But this isn't the rule. But the Eagles-PERFECT?! They make sickly MOR country-based pluck-your-eyes out to stay awake boreathons. How is THAT perfection? Do they knock out the kind of thing that ABBA, Sparks and Fleetwood Mac do? God, no. And no one EVER insults them, like with Led Zeppelin, and AC/DC. So it's good they're here, but for a 'big name' band, I still only know 'Hotel California' as in the UK they're not really jostled about us like they were in the days of cave-living. And ABBA did NOT like they're lovely 'Eagle' single being cited as being made out of respect for that group, it SO was not! Eagles should be making songs about them! Granted when the members split, they do okay songs solo-wise. I like Don Henley's 'Boys Of Summer' and his Nick's collaboration with 'Leather And Lace' single.
Ha! God for me it's loads. This doesn't cover single acts for some reason, but madonna slag worst thing in the world! And there's TONNES of bad, but death of music mainly down to her and S/A/W and c/rap's acceptance, though heavy metal did not help.
I couldn't agree with you more about the eagles,I remember when they came out in 72,they are just not my cup of tea.Could not agree with you more on motley crew, throw van Halen in that mix.
In no particular order here are some of mine: Aerosmith Fleetwood Mac (specifically Stevie Nicks era) John Mellencamp Queen Heart Red Hot Chili Peppers U2 Bon Jovi And while I wouldn't say I dislike the Eagles overall, I think they are very overrated and that Joe Walsh's solo/ James Gang stuff blows them out of the water. I used to like a lot of the bands on this video as a young teenager but when I discovered Deep Purple my whole taste in music changed for the better.
I used to like Deep Purple until I decided I totally hated those cheesy keyboards. Plus they plagiarized nearly as much as Led Zeppelin. Smoke On The Water riff is a rip off of Maria Moita by Carlos Lyra.
@@John-k6f9k That's a fair opinion. They were the first band I really dove into aside from stuff you would hear on the radio. I've gone deeper into several other bands too
Complaining about selling out is as Lemmy put it "Inverted snobbery" In the early days of Motorhead in the mid 70s they were an an unsigned band making a living doing small gigs around the UK. Then when they finally managed to get a record deal to release their first album some kid came up to Lemmy after the show and complained that they'd sold out, just because they'd released a record, and he wouldn't be following Motorhead any more after that. You just can't stand the fact that the band isn't your baby anymore. The idea that PEASANTS might actually like your band too fills you with disgust. You're the only person who's supposed to like your band! When you liked them early on you probably though they were underrated and deserved wider recognition, then when they get it, you're not happy. Fans are perpetually unhappy it seems. If you're complaining about a band "doing it for the money" of course they're doing it for the money. All the classical composers wrote their music for money. Artistic expression was a bonus to them in comparison to been able to afford food and shelter.
@@John-k6f9k LMAO @ Lemmy and Motörhead being the barometer of “inverted snobbery”. Anybody who liked/likes that garbage has tin ears and needs to review what they consider “music” or see a hearing specialist. Appropriate the guy was covered in warts. He sounded like he swallowed a box of great horny toads when he “sang” (croaked). Talentless hack, terrible band and thankfully silenced.
The one that would top my list is Fleetwood Mac, specifically the Stevie Nicks era. Loved them back in the 60's in the Peter Green era. Also can't stand the post 1980 Rolling Stones. Paul McCartney, with or without Wings, is another I find unlistenable. The Tragically Hip is another I can't stomach. That's 4 off the top of my head. Genesis, Yes, Coldplay would also make the cut. Def Leppard post Pyramania. I think Aerosmith after their big "comeback" would be another. And Bon Jovi. There's my 10.
Most Hated No.9: Coldplay. Just one word, not two. The only UK band here, but I know the stupid US loves them, it always does love the non-US things you shouldn't. I'd call them a wannabee version of A-ha also, not just U2. They are just dull city aren't they, like Snow Patrol generally are, Keane trample all over these 2 and Keane do everything that Coldplay can't get right in the 1st place. Granted 'Speed Of Sound' their best song, and I can hear a few others and find it okay in the background, but that gets them nowhere. Certainly don't hate them, but I find their almost worldwide acclaim nauseating, but then people do they with EVERYTHING anyway.
Could you elaborate more on why you hate/dislike the Eagles. I love them but am curious more on your opinion. Is it the instrumentals, the vocals, the harmonies, the songwriting, the overall sound?
The songs are just too sterile and perfect for my liking. Too middle of the road for my liking, but they are great songwriters and I can see why they are so popular.
@@qdahdrummer Ha! Totally get you now. Just worried it was one of those "don't say that about those Gods" kind of comment, along the lines of "no one hates them, they're great".
@@John-k6f9k Bluesy Monday Is the one day that they come here Yeah when they haunt me And they taunt me in my cage I mock 'em all They're feelin' small, yeah they got no answer Yeah they're playin' dumb But I'm just laughing as they rage Don't arrange to have me sent to no asylum Well it's only a game I'm playing for fun Yeah I've been trying to fool everyone
When i was 10 years old I loved KISS. I grew out of them pretty quick. I still love Motley Crue's first two albums. After those albums i dont care. I like a few Heart songs from the early days.
First I'll just get this out of the way... nearly everybody these days is using backing tracks and lip syncing. That really shows you how much(or should I say little) talent most artists(I really hate to even call them that!) are these days. OK having said that, I am a fan of KISS but only about the first decade's worth of their stuff and mainly the early stuff, largely due to Ace Frehley's guitar playing but I understand a lot of people hate them so it's no surprise to me. I also like the early stuff of Aerosmith and Heart but I can't stand their later stuff. A lot of people probably don't want to hear this but the 80's really ruined a lot of bands!

I've been on RUclips for over 18 years and I never know which videos will do well for views and which ones won't... Thanks!
@@canadianstudmuffin Thanks Larry. I’m always surprised that the “hate” word isn’t blocked despite it clearly being in good faith 😂
Before i start the video, i reflect on my top 10 "hated/disliked" bands/artists:
- Coldplay
- Dave Matthews Band
- Oasis
- U2 (after "Joshua Tree")
- Steely Dan
- Ted Nugent
- Nightwish (with Tarja)
- Babyshambles/ Pete Doherty
- Elvis Costello
- Foo Fighters
Why don't you like Foo Fighters? I love that band.
Foo fighters are mediocre. They havnt really made what I would consider to be a classic track or album. They are just OK.
I enjoy most of their albums. I love the Colour and the Shape the most.
Steely Dan?? You've got to be kidding. They are your favorite bands favorite band!
YES! Axel Rose tanks again! II’m so happy, I could Cry! ❤❤❤
I can't stand Bon Jovi, but to me Ritche Sambora as a solo act is actually pretty damn good!!!
Bon Jovi legitimized hair metal and that's unforgivable. I went to high-school in the late 80s a musical dark age Bon Jovi helped create.
Axl's only redeeming quality is that he can almost imitate a harmonica.
A bonus is that he pisses off elitist asshats.
Most underrated bands, Cheap Trick, Devo, XTC, Vapours, Shed Seven, Faith no More, Sparks, Nazareth, UFO. Viagra Boys. Bands i hate, Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Trailer Swift. Green Day, Killers.

My personal top 10:
1. Green Day
2. Joy Division
3. Bullet For My Valentine
4. Nightwish
5. Five Finger Death Punch
6. NOFX
7. Pearl Jam
8. Warrant
9. Lacrimosa
10. Jane's Addiction
I saw Bon Jovi in concert. I'm still going through therapy sessions.
Ha ha!
I have seen them with I think Cinderella ? I was very drunk that night
Thanks, Flanders!
Uncanny I agree with every single one of these:
If rappers and hiphoppers would join a band... THAT would be surely some thing to hate!
I’m 56 and Canadian as well. I agree with your choices. Motley and Guns especially I mean make it make sense
Thank you, Larry!!!!!!
I do like Fleetwood Mac but their best albums are with Peter Green.
my top 10:
10- Yes
9- Emerson, Lake & Palmer
8- Limp Bizkit (although I respect Wes Borland)
7- Chicago
6- Coldplay
5- Poison
4- Eagles
3- Kiss
2- Nickelback
1- Imagine Dragons
That was a pretty good hate list-I concur. And you didn't include any band that's one of my favourites. So well done! And as you love the word "hate" so much:

Agree with about 80% of your list, I would put Bon Jovi at #1.
For me it's Primus, The Rolling Stones, Prefab Sprout, Scritti Politti, Coldplay, Van Halen (with DLR), Hipsway, The Clash, The Cure and The Style Council.
Bruh I’m seeing to many people saying The Clash why are they overrated they were Punk rock icons
Pretty much nailed it. About Motley and GNR. I liked them growing up but then, I grew up. That sort of music and or genre seems juvenile to me now. Got no time for bad music. Life’s too short. Here’s my top 10
In. No. Particular. Order.
Green Day
Nickleback
George Michael
Poison
Bon Phony
Puddle of Crud
Oasis
Fleetwood Mac(their popular era. The pre Buckingham Nicks albums are awesome)
Sammy Hagar
Billy Joel.
I really hate Green Day I actually forgot how much I hate bubble gum punk.
You annoyed me with Coldplay... I really like pre-2012 era Coldplay in particular... Chris Martin is one of my favourite voices in music
I am sure there are artists I like that you don't... Like I said in the video, if you like one of these bands, that's great.
I've recovered from the shock now :)
I can’t think of bands I hate but here are some I have tried listening to but can’t get into:
The Kinks, The Byrds, Jethro Tull, Rush, King Crimson, Tears for Fears, The Band, Tool, Blue Oyster Cult and Oasis, plus many more. I will admit that I’m slowly coming around to Rush - as soon as I get past or get use to that singer’s voice then I might be onboard with them.
REO Speedwagon, Air-O-Smith, Supertramp, Poison, Bon Jovi, John Fogerty, Greenday, Dave Mathews Band, U2, Meatloaf
Frickin Meatloaf! When I was a teen I bought the "Bat Out Of HeII" album just because of how cool the cover looked. With a cover like that this band has got to rock! Never made that mistake again. 🤣
Couldnt agree with you more about Aerosmith from one Canadian to another my man
Yup, 70's Aerosmith rocks! Everything after that is crap. They should have stayed on drugs. 🤣
I have a soft spot for a decent chunk of the bands on your list. (I.E. Heart, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, Eagles)
However, I don't think I enjoy them enough for me to go out of my way to collect more than 1 or 2 best of albums from them. Thank goodness those exist! 1 exception would be _Appetite For Destruction_ and the _Use Your Illusion_ albums from G N' R. A fun list, regardless, Larry.
I gotta agree about Bon Jovi. One of the corniest groups of all time. But I do like The Eagles 72-80. They just should have stayed broken up.
Yeah I agree with a bunch of those. Just never got the Dave Matthews band. Why do people like them? The jam band that doesn't jam. Inexplicable.
Dont sit on the fence larry, what do you really think of those bands. 🤗
Motley Crew kicked some serious a**
(Too) easy to agree with all of these. In one of the videos you mentioned that you don't like Depeche Mode. I would defend this band...
I'm on board with all except Heart. Regardless of the late 80s, their first few years produced some phenomenal music.
I'd add Def Leppard.
Agree with most of your list. I like most of Heart though with the exception of Heart, Bad Animals and parts of Brigade. They're good before and after those.
Guns N' Roses
Linkin Park
Blink 182
Limp Bizkit
Bon Jovi
John Mellencamp
Aside: The Ramones (I don't hate them, but I think they're overrated)
Spot on list Larry! I’m with you on all of them
I hate videos about bands I hate but I loved this one so much I am going to do my list..stay tuned…Agree with some of your choices..some like Limp Bisquit I can’t say I hate because they annoyed me so so much without ever hearing their music..so I can’t really hate them..Can I? Finally a list I totally agree with. Especially guns and vomit. I only like eagles songs that Randy Meissner sang.
I don't have any bands I dislike. I would have to listen to them first.
People are sheep, they jump on bandwagons. Why bother actually listening to a band in the hope you might like them when it's easier and more fun to just hate them?

This list is solid I think.
My only disagreement is DMB but that's an understandable pick. The jam band genre they are in is a really acquired taste and it's not for everyone. I personally love the band but hey....
I also am not a Coldplay fan with one exception which is their album Viva La Vida which in my opinion is a great music album even though I don't like the band l
Aerosmith I agree but I like "Jaded"
What are your favorite bands?
New Top 10 Favorite Bands coming in a few days.
I agree with most of the list. Heart definitely lost something when the original band started splintering. I am planning to see a Heart tribute band with two of the original members this fall. No desitlre to see the current band's tour, though Ann's solo stuff is interesting.
❤You crack me up. Subscribed
Thank you!
It was funny how every time you were done with a band, you said with a giggle “I hate them!” 😆
Interesting list !
Mine:
Pink Floyd
U2
Queen
Anything Bruce Springsteen
Paul McCartney (solo work) uhhgg
Thanks !
My condolences.
I do like these bands a bit more than you do, some more than others, but I completely understand why these are your most hated. I'm also not a fan to half these bands and the other half, like you said, were good, then got progressively bad as time went on.
Any band called 'Hootie and the Blowfish' should be avoided at all costs.
They could have easily made my list...
@@John-k6f9k Except they were very talented
More like Booty and the Hoe-fish as my mom used to say
Indeed.
But???
there are a couple of bands that I am very familiar with their music I hate and some I don't like much other than maybe a couple of songs that I can tolerate.
Queen was a band that was great in the 70's and horrible in the 80's
Radio Caca 😅
Queen were doing what almost all big 1970s bands were doing in the 80s, adapting their sound or risk just fading away. Black Sabbath, Rush, Yes, Genesis, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, they all took the 1980s sheen and polish on board. Virtually all fans of these bands prefer the 70s stuff. I like about half of Queens 80s output to some degree, but their creativity was mostly gone.
Lost interest after "The Game"
@@MichaelWHSame here. Jazz was their last good album but it wasn't great. For me everything from their first album through Day at the Races was top tier stuff. News of the World was a pretty good album but it seemed lacking in some way compared to earlier albums. The Game was the beginning of the end and Hot Space was a huge disappointment. By The Works, even though it sounded like they were trying to put their old sound in some of the songs, I came to accept that the band was never going back to what made them Queen.
I like Eagles and early Aerosmith but the rest of your choices I completely agree with.
I like the first 2 records of Coldplay. After that they lost me.
The only 2 I can agree on with you are Limp Bizkit and the Eagles.
The first three eagles are great, the rest bad
I agree with this list. esp. Eagles - the radio goes off when I hear the first few notes (Joe Walsh solo stuff is also annoying af).
Most Hated No.5: The Eagles
Not thought of perfection in a band/act as a bad thing!
Please don't say Rush! I love Rush! Edit: Whew! 😊
Rush is one of the most talented bands ever.
I always turn the dial when Aerosmith and Bon Jovi come on
Ha! God for me it's loads. This doesn't cover single acts for some reason, but madonna slag worst thing in the world! And there's TONNES of bad, but death of music mainly down to her and S/A/W and c/rap's acceptance, though heavy metal did not help.
Def Leppard has creeped onto my hate list, but back in '83 Pyromania changed my world
Kiss have great stuff but ruined by greed for money and commercialism and don’t get me started on the avatars
I couldn't agree with you more about the eagles,I remember when they came out in 72,they are just not my cup of tea.Could not agree with you more on motley crew, throw van Halen in that mix.
In no particular order here are some of mine:
Aerosmith
Fleetwood Mac (specifically Stevie Nicks era)
John Mellencamp
Queen
Heart
Red Hot Chili Peppers
U2
Bon Jovi
And while I wouldn't say I dislike the Eagles overall, I think they are very overrated and that Joe Walsh's solo/ James Gang stuff blows them out of the water.

@@John-k6f9kYou’ll always have Drake, the Biebs and the Swifties to fall back on.
Coldplay were great until 2006ish when they deserted their fan base and sold out to crack America writing ordinary pop songs.
@@John-k6f9kThey weren't a small band, they were already massive in the UK.

Sorry, does he have to? They're a boring, overrated virtual country act, though several of them do good solo singles away from the unit.
@@kyachdistent1301 he doesn’t have to at all lol I respect his opinion was just curious
@@qdahdrummer Ha! Totally get you now. Just worried it was one of those "don't say that about those Gods" kind of comment, along the lines of "no one hates them, they're great".
Wow, I agree so much! Made me laugh. I agree with the other guy that said Green Day should be on that list too.

Is the one day that they come here
Yeah when they haunt me
And they taunt me in my cage
I mock 'em all
They're feelin' small, yeah they got no answer
Yeah they're playin' dumb
But I'm just laughing as they rage
Don't arrange to have me sent to no asylum
Well it's only a game
I'm playing for fun
Yeah I've been trying to fool everyone
With that number 9 bit I thaught u were gonna say Beatles then I remembered who I was watching 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 insane clown posse haven’t heard that name in ages
I pretty much agree with your list except I am a big eagles fan. When H & O were inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame so was kiss. I was pissed!😆
So funny you addressed the “HATE” trend; something I actually hate, but RUclips’s algorithm adores, those trigger words.
Yep. You can't say t i t, but you can say hate.
