Conclusion to another great series! Had lots of laughs. Speaking of rolling stone, I’ll hopefully be seeing The Rolling Stones (band is better than the publication) this summer on their hackney diamonds tour and was looking to dive deeper into their discography, if you have a ranking of your favorite albums or songs of theirs I’d love to see that 🙏
Thank you for becoming a Member! If you go to my Canadian Studmuffin channel and search for the Rolling Stones on my front page, you will see a few videos I have done on them.
Your view on rap music is exactly how I thought it would be. But you have to understand that popularity takes a big factor in these lists and albums like Nas - Illmatic, Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly, and Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (and pretty much every album by Kanye West from 2004-2010) are greatly loved albums that are held in a very high regard. Also, Kid A is better than OK Computer and The Bends :)
Exactly. And I will also add that an album like Enter the Wu Tang by the Wu Tang Clan is just as great as any Beatles or David Bowie album (Two of my all time favorites).
I kinda understand where RS are coming from. They never claimed to be a solely rock and roll based magazine, so I can see why some of the newer artists are getting more attention. It does get kinda abrasive seeing hip-hop next to punk next to rock and roll, but for me, it at least shows the variety of where music has been going in recent years. Music doesn't always have to be confined to one genre (hence why I love The Beatles' White Album so much). Also I feel that the entries released in the late 1990s and the 2000s like Jay-Z and Liz Phair have had some time to become classics in their own right for my generation just something like Physical Graffiti has. Jay-Z for me has had just as much influence on the new generation as the greatest classic rock bands of their time had on their respective generations. There's always going to be a difference based on generations, but I don't begrudge Rolling Stone for including them. People are just as liable to influenced by Dr Dre and Beyonce as they are to be influenced by The Beatles, and that's what makes music so cool.
I was talking to a professor who teaches music composition at a local university and he said something dismissive about hip hop so I played him "For Free?" off To Pimp a Butterfly and it blew his mind.
Also, they want to have this huge diversity and include all of those genres, but they ignore metal at all, there were only a few Sabbath and Metallica albums on here. Not a single Priest or Maiden album in the top 500 (at least i don’t remember seeing) it s a shame. Even Motley crue, which I know some people dislike and that s okay, but they really popularised that hair/pop metal move in the 80s.
My completely subjective top 10 greatest albums of all time list (though I do value an album's influence and overall cultural significance quite a bit): 1. Gorillaz- Plastic beach 2. Genesis- The lamb lies down on broadway 3. Kendrick Lamar- To pimp a butterfly 4. Mastodon- Crack the Skye 5. Devin Townsend- Ocean machine 6. Between the buried and me- Colors 7. Death grips- The money store 8. The Beatles- White album 9. Kanye West- The life of Pablo 10. Frank Zappa- Hot rats
Hi Larry I was just listening to "What's Going on" in my car on the way to work this morning its a great album I love it. it took me 4 or 5 listens to get it. The best album of all time I don't know about that. probably best Marvin Gaye album. I think what happens down at Rolling Stone is they give the job of picking these to one guy whose taste is all over the place and that's what you get. there is nothing scientific or even popularity driven it would be easy if they did that just pick them by sales.
I'm late to the party, but I enjoyed your take, man. Music tastes vary wildly, and there's no crime in liking what you like. I'm of the opinion that lists like these serve only to encourage discussion and maybe open my eyes to something new. They're nowhere close to definitive. Anyway, appreciate your video, will watch a couple more. Ps. Liz Phair's Exile in Guyville is my jam. Well deserved placement haha
Not a single Zappa album in the top 500? And also no Trout mask replica? No way I think the 2003 Rolling Stone list was by far a lot better, with Sgt pepper number 1, Pet sounds number 2, Revolver number 4, Rubber Soul number 5 and the White album number 10
Been thinking about this list. I remember back when it first started with Sergeant Peppers being number one. The list contained loads of interesting albums which I made an effort to get to know because they were on the list. Such as stuff like Love's Forever Changes and Trout Mask Replica. Don't know why but can't even be bothered trying to get to know those albums by Beyonce and Taylor Swift listed.. Guess u run out of steam for new music as you get older?
This list is nonsense - however as a list of albums from an American publisher it will be and perhaps should be biased towards American artists. As a Brit I am much less invested in this list, however I celebrate every inclusion of a British artist and consider it a win for good taste and musical excellence 😀I am glad to see that there are a few of my favourite Canadian artists in there - shout put to Joni and Neil. Loving these ranking video reviews! Cheers Matt

Larry,to me the greatest albums of all time are every Beatles album, then their individual solo albums and then whatever other albums you want to pick. Bob
I've only gotten to you mentioning 95 - drake and I agree with you 100 greatest albums of all time when you think of all the music albums ever made and drake is on here, I don't know, is there any hope for humanity. Enjoying your video though 😊 I'll keep watching
Larry, thanks for chronicling the idiocy of this magazine and showing us how far they're willing to go in an attempt to stay relevant. Considering their past ambivalence to Led Zeppelin, I'm actually surprised that they placed any of their albums in the Top 100.
The people compiling these lists are getting younger and more diverse. In another 20 years half of the classic rock stuff on this list will fall off and the majority of it might lean towards hip hop then
I'm surprised that rolling Stone magazine didn't put on their list Anekdoten untill all the ghosts are gone or Van Der Graff Generator Pawnhearts, oh well.
I got 10 out of this 100: Metallica - 'Masters Of Puppets' AC/DC - Back In Black The Doors Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill' Outkast - 'Stankonia' Guns 'N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction Beatles Beatles - ' Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' Michael Jackson - 'Thriller' Prince ' Purple Rain'
D’Angelo’s “Voodoo” is spectacular though. The closest we’ve ever had to Stevie Wonder’s caliber of musicianship, and D’Angelo plays all of the instruments on most of the tracks.
Fun video. I love all of Michael Jackson's albums he released as an adult, and I definitely prefer Thriller over Bad. I actually prefer Off The Wall, Dangerous, and HIStory over Bad as well but I still love Bad a lot. I honestly enjoy your videos covering these lists, as it helps me remember how pathetic Rolling Stone is lol.
While I object some of the newer picks, I would say that most of them are fairly valid. - Nas’ Ilmatic at 44 is valid. Nas is one of the best rappers - Kendrick’s To Pimp a Butterfly at 19 is valid. It is like the Remain In Light equivalent of hiphop - Lauryn Hill at 10 is too high but it is a great album - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy at 17 might be slightly high but it is one of the greatest albums in recent years (and im not a fan of Kanye as a person). Arguably the Sgt Pepper equivalent of hiphop I could go on, but while it is perfectly understandable that hiphop is not your genre, I just want to help point out that there are some legitimately great “new black albums” here, and there are some of them that I would definitely prefer to Bob Dylan or Led Zeppelin (who I adore equally too).
It is only fair that any publication - Rolling Stone or anyone - needs to be relevant. There is no denying that “black music” is dominant in the last 20 years, and hence it only makes sense that Rolling Stone needs to update its ranking in accordance with the modern taste. Otherwise, if it’s just full of 50s-90s albums with limited entries from the last 25 years, such a ranking would make zero sense either (even if one could objectively argue that music peaked in those earlier years)
I feel alot of this is based of culture impact and relevance, for example the pistols being the top 100 inspite of the music not being that good. Whilst I like a lot of prog stuff and classic rock albums, it’s basically faded from the popular musical canon apart from a couple of big songs. Rap and “alternative” is probably much more relevant in 2024 and therefore on a list that’s ranked like this I’d say lots of these rankings make sense. I feel like you’d like some of these albums, like Blonde or loveless , but you’ve just slated them because they aren’t what you would have personally said is most relevant. (funhouse by the stooges or Souvlaki by slowdive would be my #1 and #2 picks!)
I think a lot of the 60s and 70s albums that you mentions as being left out aren’t really good “albums”, great collections of songs but not formatted in a way and cohesive like a lot of these albums. Beatles were arguably one of the first rocks bands to do it probably on Sgt Peppers.
You summed it up very well, a stupid list. But it's entertaining watching you go through them 😀. But how can a top 10 albums list not include Darkside of the Moon, unless it's a personal one, very strange.
I think these lists are fun and it honestly doesn’t bother me where albums are ranked… I only get annoyed when people try to read something political into it but that’s the world we live. What’s Going On and Pet Sounds are great choices. My top 10 from the ones shown would be Exile on Main St Axis: Bold as Love The Velvet Underground & Nico Fun House Appetite for Destruction Master of Puppets Exodus Ziggy Stardust White Album Highway 61 Revisited I probably forgot some - just took a mental note of albums I liked as you read them 👍🏽
If Rolling Stone were really were going to do records of "all time" I think they should have included Leadbelly. Where's Scott Joplin? If branching out is a thing, they could have included Hilary Hahn Plays Bach: Sonatas 1 & 2; Partita 1 (Hilary's a classical violinist, she was a prodigy - on YT please look up her version of Ernst - Der Erlkönig (The Earl King by Schubert, poem by Goethe)) - then read the poem if you don't know the story. An opera, one of the best - like Mozart: Don Giovanni by Wilhelm Furtwängler, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Cesare Siepi should have made the list if it were an all time list. They could have included some Eastern Indian Classical Music as well - like Anoushka Shankar (I'm sure Glen Kellaway would agree) or even Ravi Shankar. Rolling Stone is really missing out by calling it "of all time." It's mostly pop music from 1960s - 2020s. I'm not in their target demographic anymore.
18:00 yeah I do think Ok Computer is their best album without question. It might be a hot take, but I would honestly say that The Bends, In Rainbows, and A Moon Shaped Pool are better albums than Kid A as well.

I have to agree with you, Rolling Stone is just trying to be trendy. How the hell could they have Sargent Peppers so low down the list and Beyonce higher? Love the Marvin Gaye album, it's a classic, but number one! All lists are going to be personal opinions, to some degree, but everyone knows the history of the classic albums of all time. Love your channel it always puts a smile on my face 😀
It's ok not to like hip hop, but to give an opinion on an specific album you must at least give it a listen. I'm not a big fan of the genre either, but there's some albums that I consider legit masterpieces and some of the best of all time, even tough I'm more of a classic rock type of guy. Being open minded is very important when it comes to music, if you get out of your comfort zone, you'll be able to discover some impressive records :)
I think if a given hip hop album was REALLY better than some of these classics, we'd all know about them. I've listened to hundreds of rap songs, and if you're really going to compare the creativity of such simplistic music to many of these genuinely brilliant albums, you have a different definition of "music" than a lot of people. There are more moments of musical brilliance on PET SOUNDS than all such moments on every rap album on this list. And that's only on Side One.
“Off the wall” is actually my favorite of MJ‘s solo work. That’s why these lists are so stupid! But believe it or not I’ve enjoyed it for the most part.💁🏻♀️
I must say, I am a huge fan of rock! (Beatles and Zeppelin being my all time favs) but I’m also a big fan of hip hop and rap. Especially Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Wu Tang Clan. I can sort of see why them albums are ranked as high as they are. Still massively disagree with this RS list though!
Loved your reaction. I barely stopped laughing. I will have to watch it again while I'M drinking a bottle of wine. PET SOUNDS is a million times better than Marvin Gaye, but I can see Marvin's album in the Top Ten. It's just "hip" to give it the top spot lately. It's a terrific record, although there's a sameness to the orchestration throughout the entire album, which bogs it down. I guess that gets the nod over the fact that every track on PET SOUNDS has a different sonic background to it. Love ZEPPELIN IV being so far down the list. LOL! I wonder if MACHINE HEAD made the Top 500 according to RS (Really $hitty). Thanks for all the chuckles!
After seeing this list I might need to listen to Notorious BIG because I feel Ready to Die. Just kidding. It was fun listening to your reactions which I agree pretty much but not all of course, we all have our own tastes. A lot of great albums and a lot I can live without but there is Reasonable Doubt where they are as you amusingly mentioned. I realize that the times have changed and a magazine like RS will want to seem current so I didn't get upset about it. The top five wasn't too bad, I'm just glad it wasn't Beyonce, Jay Z, Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Bad Bunny!
I may have commented earlier that O don't really care for Rolling Stone's record reviews and in your case, rankings. I never heard of De Angelo or Kendrick Lamar. I don't agree with RS's 17th pick of Kanye West, but now I am somewhat intrigued and I just may stream it or some of it, or just one track. Thank you for your review of RS's Top 500 of all time. Ha! Ha! Ha! To Rolling Stoned down Dundas St in Trenton Ontario, because you'll get run over by a car if you are rolling stoned down State St in Trenton New Jersey.
Please listen to Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly. I know you’re mostly into rock, but this hip hop album is groundbreaking. It’s fantastic. To me the best of all time.
For DECADES, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band has been regarded by most rock bands, pop artists, journalists, and listeners, as the most important and influential Rock album of all time. The past decade, however has been notoriously characterized for being trendy, very contrasting and opinionated by social media and always trying to subvert expectations at all cost. Hip and cool, as Larry said. Now Rolling Stone is telling me that Kanye West MBDTF (an excellent album, to say the least) is better and more relevant than Sgt. Pepper’s? Someone tell me one song from Pet Sounds that gets 2 feet close to A Day In The Life? Or from Abbey Road, for that matter? Don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to be a purist here. Opinions change. But I don’t feel this list is 100% honest. It feels more like an attempt to be “edgy”, sort of “well, everyone is jumping from the cliff so we guess we have to…”
So no Zep, Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Deep Purple, Moody Blues, Dream Theater etc. Not a single progressive rock/metal artist have made an album worthy of a top 100 spot. Outside of Metallica not a single metal artist has made an album better than every bloody Beyonce album (or so it seems). Now I have no issue with rap or hip hop, they are musical styles worthy of recognition, but to suggest that all those mentioned are better than every prog album ever made is just a pile of nonsense. The Rolling Stone has always had its head up its arse so I shouldn't have been surprised.
You don't even have to go far to find albums better than Taylor Swift - Red. Like the album ranked just above it at 100 Music From Big Pink. 😜 I can't take these type of lists seriously anyways. What separates #66 to #65? The higher the number of albums the harder it is to rank them imo. If I were to come up with my own 100 Greatest Albums Of All Time list it'd take me AGES to compile and even then I'd probably change my mind on something lol.
How do you make a list like this? It can't be one single person's view or even a dozen people who have identical tastes - you need a diverse group of reviewers and take into account a broad range of factors like sales, influence, production, performance, writing - etc. And what you get as a result is a list that no one person will be happy with, but hopefully everyone can stomach. This is impossible for anyone to be very happy with. It will be hated by everyone, no matter what. I honestly don't know why anyone bothers to make lists like this.
With all respect, Larry, you shouldn't critisize those rap albums that are included in this top100 list, because those are some important and influental albums there. And I do understand that you are not into rap/hip-hop genre, but it's also a certain genre that has shaped music and those albums deserves those places that they are in 😊 well okay, I don't agree also that Pink Floyd album is so low and some might be in defferent placings, but the thing is... You shouldn't laugh out of those newer generation albums, they have their importance 😉 cheers 👍 And to answer your question about Michael Jackson's ,,Thriller" and ,,Bad" albums... ,,Thriller" aged perfectly fine, while ,,Bad" sounds like it was made in later 80's and it kinda stay that way, so it's a fine album, a hits album, but that's it, while Thriller is a great and still sounding kinda fresh album
With all due respect, rap music isn't a genre I am a fan of overall, just like I am sure you might not like some genres that I like or love... Everyone likes what they like.
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin yes, exactly, you are right and it has to be like that, everyone's has to depend on their own taste of music and not only music
I wish I had some wine too watching this list 🍷😁 I'm more than surprised some Kanye West is before Metallica? I'd like to know the reasoning of how they came up with this list. I'm sorry for rambling
@@eskimorava9622 I have never listened to even 1 Kanye West album but I've heard a few of his songs and in my opinion should not even be in the top 100 greatest albums of all time
If you do consider listening to some hip hop, the best stuff to go with is A Tribe Called Quest or Outkast or De La Soul as they use lots of P Funk and Jazz music loops and beats and are a far easier listen than other hip hop.
I think most people here need to relax a little bit. Not caring about a genre doesn’t mean he hates it or disrespects it. Some Hip Hop albums are absolutely masterpieces, and perfect productions. But to be honest, some of those albums tend to bore me a little when they say “b*tch” every 2 lines, no matter how poetic or clever the lyrics could be. That quickly dissipates my interest. Although I’m a huge 2Pac fan. Personally, I can’t stand trap music.
Im glad you had some wine by the time you got to #32, Beyonce. Otherwise, you may have had to be taken to hospital. I agree "what a stupid list" there were quite a few artists id never heard of - but maybe thats my fault. I definitly think SGT pepper should be in the top 10.
After watching the video I count 49 of these that I have. I have all of the top 10. I'd probably have a higher count of the top 500 if I only owned all the Beyonce, Jay-Z and Kanye albums. I have Off the Wall by MJ and I left it there. I don't really want Thriller and especially don't want Bad.
Yes I think genres should be separated definitely because I remember years ago Beatles Stones and Floyd were a lot higher on the list and were the top 10.
I just think where we're getting to the point of a musical generation gap that makes these kind of lists irrelevant. Maybe check out the list Rolling Stone did about 20 years ago. I believe Pepper was number one.
Larry..these lists always raise my blood pressure. As soon as I get angry, I will be turning off the video..Will let you know how long I could take it before I leave…Taylor Swuft better than Music From Big Pink!!! I am out at the 1:39 mark..🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬❤glen
I have owned over 10 thousands records and maybe I could put ten of my albums included here. A truly stupid list. No Frank! Make that plural! Saturday Night Fever still rocks! O Jays with Back Stabbers! Traffic by Traffic I never tire of. Thanks for the review Larry.
Well , That's a wrap er ..rap. Nothing to exciting here. Like the high placement of Velvet Underground 🚇 🍌 & Beach Boys. Most of my Top 100 were somewhere in the Top 500 amongst the catalogs of Jay Z & Beyonce. Lester Bangs is laughing.
I hate Rolling Stone. They have no clue. Music is subjective as everyone says, but if they're putting "best of" albums in there, then Queen's "Greatest Hits" is the number one selling compilation of all time. Ignoring that, "A Night At The Opera" blows most of that top 100 away. They made up for it a little with "Abbey Road" and "Revolver" being up there lol. I think Elton's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and Billy Joel's "The Stranger" are top 100 material, definitely way above anything by Taylor Swift or Jay-Z. Heck, even Billie Eilish is better than the last 2 I mentioned! Glad that "Rumours" and "Pet Sounds" got their rightful mention!
Yeah right, black artist have had a much bigger impact on music. Rock n roll was invented by black ppl. White ppl would still be doing frank Sinatra if it wasn't for Chuck Berry and little richard. and I don't know any modern artist that has an acclaimed discography like Kanye or Kendrick. Maybe diversify your music tastes
Rumours, What's Going On and Blue are beautiful albums. But I don't think neither of them must be on the top 10. And I love Rumours. Blue and What's going On are terrific albums, but top 10, maybe Top 20. Revolver MUST be Top 5 (for me nr1) also Highway 61. Sgt. Pepper, Bad and Blonde On Blonde even Rubber Soul on Top 15. ALSO Kind of Blue must be Top 10. The rest, Songs of Key, Purple, Pet looks Ok where they are. You know, lately Rolling Stone lists are more political than musical oriented. And yes Bad it's a much better album than Thriller, a must interesting production. Thriller seems an uneven album, Bad a more even content.
His music used to be great IMO. yeah his most recent stuff since he's gone insane isn't nearly as good but I'd suggest going into albums like College dropout, My beautiful dark twisted fantasy, Kids see ghosts, Graduation, The life of Pablo, 808s & Heartbreak with an open mind not expecting the classic sounds of Led Zeppelin cuz how fair would that be?

@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin oh ok, sorry i only checked on the larryGravesASMR Channel. I'm looking forward to see does videos😁
Loved this one Larry! Happy to see this channel doing so well
Thank you!
You should make your own personal favorite top 100 albums. That would definitely be interesting
I did five years ago but I could re-do it for sure. ruclips.net/video/U7ZDHifpRg4/видео.html
Some of these albums you may never have heard but often they are still excellent - not enough time in life to listen to everything
I was talking to a professor who teaches music composition at a local university and he said something dismissive about hip hop so I played him "For Free?" off To Pimp a Butterfly and it blew his mind.
I'm not the biggest hip hop fan but the blue print is great. I'm surprised dark side of the moon is so low.
My completely subjective top 10 greatest albums of all time list (though I do value an album's influence and overall cultural significance quite a bit):
1. Gorillaz- Plastic beach
2. Genesis- The lamb lies down on broadway
3. Kendrick Lamar- To pimp a butterfly
4. Mastodon- Crack the Skye
5. Devin Townsend- Ocean machine
6. Between the buried and me- Colors
7. Death grips- The money store
8. The Beatles- White album
9. Kanye West- The life of Pablo
So many great albums missing from the top 500
I'm late to the party, but I enjoyed your take, man. Music tastes vary wildly, and there's no crime in liking what you like. I'm of the opinion that lists like these serve only to encourage discussion and maybe open my eyes to something new. They're nowhere close to definitive. Anyway, appreciate your video, will watch a couple more. Ps. Liz Phair's Exile in Guyville is my jam. Well deserved placement haha
Sgt Peppers at 24? I thought it would be #1, top 10 for sure
There's only two songs and there better as covers
I wouldn't even put it in the Beatles top 5.
Not a single Zappa album in the top 500? And also no Trout mask replica? No way
I think the 2003 Rolling Stone list was by far a lot better, with Sgt pepper number 1, Pet sounds number 2, Revolver number 4, Rubber Soul number 5 and the White album number 10
I think Trout Mask Replica was somewhere in the top 500 list...
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin ok then that’s good to hear. I might have forgotten seeing it
Been thinking about
this list.
Bad is also my favourite Michael Jackson album.
Cheers Matt

Horrors: Beyonce, Radiohead, Pink Floyd but for 3 songs, Queen and all stadium rock, The Rolling Stones after 1970. all rap, hip hop, and all white supremacist albums too.
Not a perfect list but still better than whatever that Apple list was, at least Rolling Stone had a very strong top 5
Larry,to me the greatest albums of all time are every Beatles album, then their individual solo albums and then whatever other albums you want to pick. Bob
Um, no
You throwing McCartney's solo albums from the 80s in there?
Fanboy alert
I've only gotten to you mentioning 95 - drake and I agree with you 100 greatest albums of all time when you think of all the music albums ever made and drake is on here, I don't know, is there any hope for humanity. Enjoying your video though 😊 I'll keep watching
5:31 listen to Blonde. That’s album by Frank Ocean is a journey. Very emotional album
Baduizm by Erykah Badu is one of the greats for sure. Really worth your time. The emotional storytelling on “other side of the game” is top notch.
Thanks Larry. If there is one I would advocate for in the top 100 it's "Loveless" from My Bloody Valentine. Worth a listen.
No Elton John in the top 100? What a sham.
Goodbye yellow brick road needs number 1
@nickcapozio7134 That, or Captain Fantastic. Shit, Victim of Love is better than half the albums on this list.
Overrated didn’t write his stuff either
Elton has always been stronger with individual songs than albums for me. I like some of the albums but they aren’t top 100 for me.
@@hoodietheentertainer884 Like half of his hits were written by him.
I got 10 out of this 100:
Metallica - 'Masters Of Puppets'
AC/DC - Back In Black
The Doors
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill'
Outkast - 'Stankonia'
Guns 'N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Beatles
Beatles - ' Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band'
Michael Jackson - 'Thriller'
Prince ' Purple Rain'
Nas is one of the best rappers
- Kendrick’s To Pimp a Butterfly at 19 is valid. It is like the Remain In Light equivalent of hiphop
- Lauryn Hill at 10 is too high but it is a great album
- My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy at 17 might be slightly high but it is one of the greatest albums in recent years (and im not a fan of Kanye as a person). Arguably the Sgt Pepper equivalent of hiphop
I could go on, but while it is perfectly understandable that hiphop is not your genre, I just want to help point out that there are some legitimately great “new black albums” here, and there are some of them that I would definitely prefer to Bob Dylan or Led Zeppelin (who I adore equally too).
I think the music on Never Mind The Bollocks is great.
I know you don't like Steely Dan, but you should listen to Aja. It's a great album.
I had it on vinyl when it was released. I just never connected with it.
My top 10 from the ones shown would be
Exile on Main St
Axis: Bold as Love
The Velvet Underground & Nico
Fun House
Appetite for Destruction
Master of Puppets
Exodus
Ziggy Stardust
White Album
Highway 61 Revisited
I probably forgot some - just took a mental note of albums I liked as you read them 👍🏽
Pronounced Jay Zed in Canada.

Beyonce is bland sexy dance pop. Ya just can't compare it to Sgt Pepper which is over 57 years old. Ridiculous.
I am very open to music, probably more than you are, but from all the hip hop music I have heard, I don't care for it. Thanks.
Imagine taking a drink at To Pimp a Butterfly 😂. As they say "science advances one funeral at a time." Or in this case, art.
“Off the wall” is actually my favorite of MJ‘s solo work. That’s why these lists are so stupid! But believe it or not I’ve enjoyed it for the most part.💁🏻♀️
Purple Rain...Sign o the times...But can't go wrong with Marvin Gaye
I’m a Michael Jackson fan, I prefer Thriller over Bad. I love both albums though 👍. Another great series by the way! 🙂👍xxx.
Around The World in a day was Prince’s best album. 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😊😊😊
#99 did it for me! I cry FOWL! Bad Rolling Stone, Bad! Bad, Rolling Sone!
Ha ha! 😆
The River is Springsteen's best album
I suspect a lot of the less favourable ones will mysteriously disappear in a few years, only to be replaced by other ones that shouldn't be there 😁
I think Bad is a better album overall, although Thriller has two tracks, Billie Jean and Beat It, that in my opinion are superior to anything on Bad.
Congratulations for keeping your temper 😂
I agree with your reaction to some of those "albums" :) Your REALLY should listen to The Miseducation of Lauren Hill. It truly is an excellent album.
Thriller over Bad but the gut punch of Revolver being number 11 afterwards is unforgivable. Balls to Rolling Stone!
Thriller and Bad are equally good imo. Fantastic both.
Still won't be as good as Enter the Wu-Tang 36 Chambers
no he didnt, he won a Pulitzer for damn not to pimp a butterfly 😄@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee
No.
Any Zappa
It feels more like an attempt to be “edgy”, sort of “well, everyone is jumping from the cliff so we guess we have to…”
Sgt peppers the most overrated album of all time
So no Zep, Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Deep Purple, Moody Blues, Dream Theater etc.
Life of pablo is the best album of all time
Joni Mitchell Blue. She needed the money!
You shouldn't laugh out of those newer generation albums, they have their importance 😉 cheers 👍
And to answer your question about Michael Jackson's ,,Thriller" and ,,Bad" albums... ,,Thriller" aged perfectly fine, while ,,Bad" sounds like it was made in later 80's and it kinda stay that way, so it's a fine album, a hits album, but that's it, while Thriller is a great and still sounding kinda fresh album
How many Kanye albums have you finished front to back?
@@eskimorava9622 I have never listened to even 1 Kanye West album but I've heard a few of his songs and in my opinion should not even be in the top 100 greatest albums of all time
I gave up drinking last year , but I feel like Larry wtf was that all about, rap really!
Thriller and Bad were both great but I'll go with Thriller
If you do consider listening to some hip hop, the best stuff to go with is A Tribe Called Quest or Outkast or De La Soul as they use lots of P Funk and Jazz music loops and beats and are a far easier listen than other hip hop.
"Music loops" does not signify creativity, does it? It's merely "filling up space."
Yes, Lauryn Hill made just that one album (if you don't count the Fugees albums). Possibly deserves to be where it is, it's a great album.
she hates white ppl. cant stand her
I think most people here need to relax a little bit.
Thank you. I am sure some fans of hip hop are not fans of genres like heavy metal or old country. We all like what we like.
Im glad you had some wine by the time you got to #32, Beyonce. Otherwise, you may have had to be taken to hospital. I agree "what a stupid list" there were quite a few artists id never heard of - but maybe thats my fault. I definitly think SGT pepper should be in the top 10.
I haven't watched the video yet but I'm betting Rick Astley is #1 so we're all rickrolled by RS.
Oh yeah, and I'm pissed off that I didn't see Bowie's Blackstar in the top 500.
Bye Glen! :D
😂😂😂and I don’t think Glen’s joking
I agree with you Larry..... stupid list. But thanks for the great video(s):)
I'd like to tell you that you look very much like Freddie Roach...but a healthy Freddie Roach of course before his illness.
Missy is excellent.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Rolling Stone should change their names. They have nothing to do with Rock and Roll.
The miseducation of Lauryn Hill is better than Revolver? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
not hardly.
Rolling Stone magazine hasn't been relevant since that song got released in 1972 by whats their faces.
Dr. Hook?
I don't believe that the people who made this list even agree with it. RS hasn't been relevant since Nixon was in the White House.
Judging by this list, I have to presume that Rolling Stone is a brand of toilet paper.
Poor Curtis
@davidrichman9779 don't tell me what "I hate". You're entitled to an opinion, not an assumption.
I know rap is not necessarily your style, but “To Pimp A Butterfly” at 19 is well deserved. Give it a listen, is amazing
I can think of at least 250 albums far superior, and Sinatra probably has 12 of them all by himself.
not hardly, old school rap is pretty good, that is crap though
agreed@@davidschecter5247
Old head’s won’t understand
Like this man you have to get smashed....to think this list is not an atrocity.
A joke of a ranking
This List is DEI! 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😂😂😂😂😂
You should do a kanye west album for the does this album suck series
Even though we know what the answer will be
His music used to be great IMO. yeah his most recent stuff since he's gone insane isn't nearly as good but I'd suggest going into albums like College dropout, My beautiful dark twisted fantasy, Kids see ghosts, Graduation, The life of Pablo, 808s & Heartbreak with an open mind not expecting the classic sounds of Led Zeppelin cuz how fair would that be?
