Radman is correct, this company is a good company. I had a bug where I couldn't progress in Heat 4, so I reported it, took it to their email. They got back to me about 12 hours later and they told me they had a patch in the works coming. I thought "Oh sweet! Glad they're working on that!" Then the person asked me if I had any DLC, I told them I had been saving up to get the Season Pass, they told me for bug reporting it, they'd give it to me for free. A small price for them to pay with money to make a fan for life.
hey I started to play nascar games 4 years ago and nascar heat evolution is the boring game on my life, nascar heat 2 improved a little bit, heat 3 changed a litle but more, heat 4 had improved alot the graphics and the menu and heat 5 had put alot of features

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Drop the "Heat" title altogether. Moving into next-gen, it would be a perfect time to do so. Using '21 or 2021 for next year's game would make it less confusing to the casual fan and bring new people to the community. Otherwise, I'm intrigued to see what the next few years of development will be like with Motorsport Games at the helm
Make a game like f1 2019 , Let us race as a wreck happens avoidind the wreck is part of the drive . Let us control us pitting in our own box, control speed on pit road. Hell qualifying is important to choose pit box selection how the hell has this never been implemented ever????
Here’s what I want (mostly) in the next nascar games coming in the future: Better physics (overall) Multiplayer seasons/championships physics in multiplayer Dnf in multiplayer, quick races, championship, and custom career modes If you are a rival with someone they should try to wreck you in some races, I think that would be more realistic. I think that’s it hopefully heat 6 will meet some or all of these expectations.I will keep supporting this game.
And i dont get why we dont get replays of what brought out cautions or get to watch the pit stop over cautions either :/ not a big deal but something id really like during the playing experience
Career mode glitches or things that NEED to be fixed 1. I shouldn’t be able to see the driver in the race when I replaced them when I joined the team... for example, I joined Hendrick Motorsports to replace Jimmie Johnson and drive my own car, but after I got to drive my own car and replace him, he was still listed as a teammate and he was still in the career mode. 2. There should be ages added because it’s unrealistic that Matt Kenseth or Jimmie Johnson will still be in the career mode after 10 years... also, xfinity and truck series drivers can get called up and the AI can put them on teams so they can get a cup ride in the future. 3. Whenever i’m in the truck or xfinity series, I can’t see who in the cup series won the championship. Right after Homestead, it brings me back to the main screen but it hops right in to the off-season and I can’t check to see who won. 4. When I replace a driver, they should either retire, or sign a contract with another team. It’s annoying to replace an older driver on a team for only 1 year, but when i sign with a different team in the next year, the driver that I replaced comes back to his original team and it’s like he was done for 1 year but came back and he’s there for eternity again.

Honestly, the new features this year were enough for me to buy the game, I love the idea of being able to DNF while running a season with so playoffs, so every race, every DNF, has championship implications. That and the fact that the online population is probably moving to NH5, and it’s nice to have a game that I can race online more casually when I need a break from iRacing.

Set dates and times our discord group would really like that. 5. Sharing draft makes them friendlier like in Nascar 06. 6. More control over Merchandise prices and merchandise maker? 7. Banner at the top of my screen that shows racers position. 8. Race Commentary. At the start of the race and end.
Honestly I’m happy with how heat 4 came out but this has been my problem with the recent nascar games I’ve played it’s missing commentary like announcers talking during a race that for me would make heat 4 or 5 a 10/10
The main reason i aint buyin NH5 is the fact that Nothing is really new, they arent changing much. However, with that New engine NH6 Might give us what we want, new features, new career mode features, and gimmie my damn *Paint Booth*
I hope for the heat 6, they add in more realistic features... Like speedy dry when a car leaks oil or blows up... Or an actual legit day to night transition... Even possible rain so it pressures you to get to the front by halfway if you're behind... I know it’s a small thing, but I think the game would have more appeal if it released at the beginning of the NASCAR schedule. It would help hype the season and you could play along with the schedule. Instead this drops mid season and half of its shelf life will be a new season with different cars
Realradman I think arca should be the lowest series and dirt tour should be replaced with it because the dirt tour should be a in a different game but same company for whoever wants it can buy it that's how I see it
Arca I think would save nascar games and add a franchise mode where you can be a owner and race and have teammates to race with you that would pop nascar out even more
ARCA would just race like the trucks. It wouldn’t be different enough, I don’t think it would be the best series if we only had to pick one. Modifieds or a more fleshed out dirt tour would be a much better addition than ARCA.

this is one of the most important videos I've seen regarding Heat 5 and the status of small game developing companies in general. what we have to realize is that Heat 5 is only able to get off of the Unity Engine in part due to the fact that we helped fund the engine by buying Heat Evolution, 2, 3, and 4. they try their hardest each year to make the game better, and while it isn't perfect, you cannot look at Ev. and say that the games have stayed the same since then. no more awful lighting, no more apron glitch, tire model is SO much better, no more lack of speed "feel," no more cars that are stuck to the ground and can't be moved through contact. yes, the games aren't perfect. yes, there are still glaring issues. however, they tried their hardest to give us what we wanted. they constantly heard our voices on social media. they are our fans and advocates even more so than we are theirs; it's high time we pay them for the platform they tried to give us
I'm from the UK and I've never played a NASCAR game before but I am gunna give this one a try when it comes out, looking forward to it and learning more about NASCAR overall.
I think the jump we'll see between Heat 5 and the next game will be massive. Two things I still look forward to the most are a paint booth, as well as a Silly Season. I'd love to see drivers retire and free agency take place. I'd also love to see other drivers move up with you if possible. I feel like these features are heavily requested as well and only make sense going forward now that they've added custom schedules and test sessions. Either way, I completely agree with you and the improvement with this series has been incredible. I'll be purchasing this game for sure!

Didnt buy any of the Heat games. If its going to take another 5 years on a new engine to get to the same spot as we are now then im not buying the future ones either. Im not made out of cash lol... I don't like this argument that we need to support developers for the promise of good future games. The support should be a RESULT of making a good product. If they make a game worth buying, it will sell well, and by selling well they now have fans support (in that order). This is not patreon or kickstarter...

Yeah 704 Games is a good developer. Nascar Heat 4 is fun. I'll continue to support them. I would love to see a historic Nascar game that celebrates the history of Nascar. They could have a story mode. You could do multiple story modes with King Richard. An Earnhardt story, a Gordon story, a Johnson story, and feature legendary races like the 1979 Daytona 500, the 1992 Hooters 500, etc. They'd take all my money with DLC I'm sure. I know there are hurdles, such as tracks, different cars, drivers, and rights of sponsors (especially old defunct sponsors), but I'd still love to see it.
Nah, they can survive on FIFA Ultimate Team alone. They earn sooo much money through that they could literally sell all their games for free and still get a net profit.
I've been playing Nascar games since way back in the late 90's or early 2000's. I used to love NASCAR Thunder. After those games stopped, every NASCAR game afterwards was terrible. But I really like the NASCAR Heat games. They aren't perfect, but they are really fun, and I think there's alot of promise in the future of these games. I hope they stick to it because I believe they can really build a great nascar game.
Just bought the game on sale for 6.50 and I have to say, I feel like I made an awesome choice after watching this. I'm always glad to support a studio that strives for good games rather than profit.
You shouldn't. From what I've seen it's a copy and paste of the last game with like 3 new features. If anything it definitely shouldn't be full priced.
This thought popped up from what you said at 13:00 - I see a lot of parallels in the Heat series that I see in Codemasters F1. F1 2014 was seen as an F1 2013 clone with a 2014 roster (kinda like how people see Heat 5 compared to Heat 4). Then F1 2015 moved to a new game engine and didn't even have Career mode and was very lacking, but showed potential and also included the 2014 roster kind of like an apology for F1 2014's lack of improvement, quality or change. Then F1 2016 was a huge improvement over 2015 building off that same game engine adding the most in-depth career mode to date at the time. Each game going forward got better in quality each year and F1 2020 is looking really good right now and is personally something I'm extremely excited for. It just takes time but it'll pay itself off. Keep in mind, there's people who worked on the Codemasters F1 games now working on this new game on this new engine (from what I remember). I have hope for the future of NASCAR video games.
I’m sorry I was pissed when I bought nascar heat 4. The best overall nascar games they made where 05’ 06’ the handling and the damage where better than these new titles. When you slam into someone they would lose control or slide up track I do that now and they wiggle like they glued to track they hit you and you lose control and they keep going I’m a diehard nascar fan been watching for over 30 years when they release a more realistic game I will buy in a heartbeat. @RealRadman you did great job on video but I can’t deal with these heat games
Another reason Forza and Gran Turismo and such have great graphics and such is because they've been running on that game engine for a long time, and it's very advanced

I'm still running offline competitions in NR 2003 with the different mods, and I don't see NH5 being better, likewise I bought the gold edition to see how it goes, what I hate in NH is the pit system when the yellow comes out and the replay system, I hope NH6 with the new engine improves those aspects
I’ve been behind this team and have bought every game + Season DLC since Heat Evolution. BUT this game is so blatantly a copy and paste that I will be passing on Heat 5. If they would have just released a 2020 paid DLC update to Heat 4, I would have likely purchased. Year over year I was happy with their minor improvements, but handing over $50 to “help them out” for almost no improvements from 4 to 5 is something I can not get behind. To each their own I guess.
I only buy every other sports game and I like it much better because then there is a better upgrade from one to another especially when they don't change much year to year
Don't judge by my profile name, but I think the Nascar Heat Series should do 2 years of development for every Nascar Heat game from now on just like f1. F1 2020 and 2019 was made in parallel. And F1 2019 was made when F1 2018 was getting done. Meaning that this years F1 2020 game took around 2 to 3 years.

Heat 5 genuinely looks like a c&p but its a c&p of a good game. with added features. At least they didn't take out stuff like other companies do. I will be buying this game just later on. Hopefully in Heat 6 or whatever they call it, (hopefully they start changing the name like foe ex: NASCAR HEAT 2021 or something like that) there will be a fully editable paint booth like what the Forza games have. I'm really happy about the test sessions, thats a nice feature. But downloadable community creations, a story mode with your driver, (This maybe stretching it but,) A driver showcase with legends like for example Dale Earnhardt or Richard Petty or Jimmie Johnson, you go back to their rookie year and drive the final laps of their best races or something like that. It also has the different generation cars and drivers like the 87 Monte Carlos, 91 Luminas, 01 Monte Carlos, 08 Impalas, etc. I have a ton more impossible ideas. lol
I will always buy all the heat games for 1. It help to support the company 2. You have to think that there is so much you can do on a old game engine. 3. I know 5 is like 4 but more time they have on the new engine the better and more stuff they can do some people might not know this but you can run space on old game engines. SO THAT BEING SAYED I WILL BUY EVERY HEAT GAME THERE IS AND HOW EVER MUCH IT WILL COST.
Also like a really good story mode during the season like cut scenes and actual story that goes along with how you drive or what you choose or not choose to do. That's what im waiting for before i buy another nascar game which will probably be years down the road unfortunately
Heat Evolution to this day is the only NASCAR game I've ever returned. But every year they've made progress to where I can say Heat 4 is pretty good. Not perfect but good. While most people see EA as the ones who made the best NASCAR games, what most seem to forget is they started taking things away. I mean they took manufacturers away in a CAR game. 704 has made progress every year even if it is little steps
I'm getting NASCAR Heat 5 for a few reasons. There aren't any other games coming out anytime in the foreseeable future I'm interested in, I know I'm going to play it a lot, and I don't think I'll get a PS5 for at least a couple of years, meaning this will probably be my NASCAR game for 2 or 3 years. I do appreciate 704 seems pretty open with the players with the game's development. I'll admit, though, if there was even one other game coming out this year I wanted, I wouldn't be getting NH5, or I'd get it on sale, at least. It's probably a good thing I never played Heat Evolution if it was that bad (and just about every review I saw had that opinion), because I probably would've given up on the series immediately.
I just took my wife to lunch. Two salads, couple drinks, tip, $45. I think this game at $50 isn’t all that bad. I would have paid $30 for the 2020 season update on NH4 that didn’t happen. I still invest most of my time on NR2003 but the plug and play of NH5 even though it doesn’t compare is a “nice to have”.
I’m just going to wait for heat 6. Maybe the new engine will help them improve the physics. Heat 4 made 3,400 lbs cars bounce in the air like a plastic toy car failing off a kids shelf, and heat 5 appears to keep it the same. Also the damage models definitely need to be fix drastically

If they cared about making a great game instead of a quick buck they would pause their annual release schedule in order to have time to develop a proper game. They make very minimal changes every year yet still charge full price .
That wide camera angle seems terrible. Like yeah you can see more of what is around you (which is actually just even less realistic) and seems like it’s too hard to judge if you’re clear or not.
I laugh when I see heat games as a esport. Even NASCAR didn’t chose heat to run there races! If heat would stop doing a yearly release maybe the game would be different. This was a highly informative video. In my opinion, you could see the downward spiral of EA back in the early to mid 2000's. The last thing I'd want is for the company that killed the NR2k3 series to get a NASCAR game back. On the other hand, 704 Games has done a great job over the years improving their product.
i really like the evolution of the series i played evolution and hated it, played heat 3 and found it not to bad, still has issues but wassnt bad, looking forward to playing heat 5 and see how much the game has improved, my favorite nascar game was thunder 2004, game was insanely challenging in career mode on harder difficulties, im hoping that in heat 5 that they can simulate the car not being as good better, instead of the car just being slow but have it unable to handle and draft as good like was done with thunder, i have high hopes for nascar games if they stay with this developer and the game continues to improve

Coming from someone who plays Madden Ultimate Team, its refreshing to step into a game that's not all about micro transactions, ripping packs and getting the best cards. I am glad that EA does not produce our games. Madden gets worse every year and has not been good in around 10 years. NASCAR Heat has gotten better every game I cant wait to play next week

Honestly, the new features this year were enough for me to buy the game, I love the idea of being able to DNF while running a season with so playoffs, so every race, every DNF, has championship implications. That and the fact that the online population is probably moving to NH5, and it’s nice to have a game that I can race online more casually when I need a break from iRacing.

2. Allow me to recruit drivers into my race team.
3. Total team control like in NASCAR 06.
4. Online season mode. Set dates and times our discord group would really like that.
5. Sharing draft makes them friendlier like in Nascar 06.
6. More control over Merchandise prices and merchandise maker?
7. Banner at the top of my screen that shows racers position.
8. Race Commentary. At the start of the race and end.
Honestly I’m happy with how heat 4 came out but this has been my problem with the recent nascar games I’ve played it’s missing commentary like announcers talking during a race that for me would make heat 4 or 5 a 10/10

I know it’s a small thing, but I think the game would have more appeal if it released at the beginning of the NASCAR schedule. It would help hype the season and you could play along with the schedule. Instead this drops mid season and half of its shelf life will be a new season with different cars

ARCA would just race like the trucks. It wouldn’t be different enough, I don’t think it would be the best series if we only had to pick one. Modifieds or a more fleshed out dirt tour would be a much better addition than ARCA.

this is one of the most important videos I've seen regarding Heat 5 and the status of small game developing companies in general. what we have to realize is that Heat 5 is only able to get off of the Unity Engine in part due to the fact that we helped fund the engine by buying Heat Evolution, 2, 3, and 4. they try their hardest each year to make the game better, and while it isn't perfect, you cannot look at Ev. and say that the games have stayed the same since then. no more awful lighting, no more apron glitch, tire model is SO much better, no more lack of speed "feel," no more cars that are stuck to the ground and can't be moved through contact. yes, the games aren't perfect. yes, there are still glaring issues. however, they tried their hardest to give us what we wanted. they constantly heard our voices on social media. they are our fans and advocates even more so than we are theirs; it's high time we pay them for the platform they tried to give us
I'm from the UK and I've never played a NASCAR game before but I am gunna give this one a try when it comes out, looking forward to it and learning more about NASCAR overall.
I think the jump we'll see between Heat 5 and the next game will be massive. Two things I still look forward to the most are a paint booth, as well as a Silly Season. I'd love to see drivers retire and free agency take place. I'd also love to see other drivers move up with you if possible. I feel like these features are heavily requested as well and only make sense going forward now that they've added custom schedules and test sessions. Either way, I completely agree with you and the improvement with this series has been incredible. I'll be purchasing this game for sure!

Nascar Heat 4 is a solid game. Heat 5 looks pretty good. But the one thing I would love to see in Heat 6 or Heat 7 would be a FULL custom paint booth.

Yeah 704 Games is a good developer. Nascar Heat 4 is fun. I'll continue to support them. I would love to see a historic Nascar game that celebrates the history of Nascar. They could have a story mode. You could do multiple story modes with King Richard. An Earnhardt story, a Gordon story, a Johnson story, and feature legendary races like the 1979 Daytona 500, the 1992 Hooters 500, etc. They'd take all my money with DLC I'm sure. I know there are hurdles, such as tracks, different cars, drivers, and rights of sponsors (especially old defunct sponsors), but I'd still love to see it.

I've been playing Nascar games since way back in the late 90's or early 2000's. I used to love NASCAR Thunder. After those games stopped, every NASCAR game afterwards was terrible. But I really like the NASCAR Heat games. They aren't perfect, but they are really fun, and I think there's alot of promise in the future of these games. I hope they stick to it because I believe they can really build a great nascar game.

This thought popped up from what you said at 13:00 - I see a lot of parallels in the Heat series that I see in Codemasters F1. F1 2014 was seen as an F1 2013 clone with a 2014 roster (kinda like how people see Heat 5 compared to Heat 4). Then F1 2015 moved to a new game engine and didn't even have Career mode and was very lacking, but showed potential and also included the 2014 roster kind of like an apology for F1 2014's lack of improvement, quality or change. Then F1 2016 was a huge improvement over 2015 building off that same game engine adding the most in-depth career mode to date at the time. Each game going forward got better in quality each year and F1 2020 is looking really good right now and is personally something I'm extremely excited for. It just takes time but it'll pay itself off. Keep in mind, there's people who worked on the Codemasters F1 games now working on this new game on this new engine (from what I remember). I have hope for the future of NASCAR video games.

I’m sorry I was pissed when I bought nascar heat 4. The best overall nascar games they made where 05’ 06’ the handling and the damage where better than these new titles. When you slam into someone they would lose control or slide up track I do that now and they wiggle like they glued to track they hit you and you lose control and they keep going I’m a diehard nascar fan been watching for over 30 years when they release a more realistic game I will buy in a heartbeat. @RealRadman you did great job on video but I can’t deal with these heat games

I'm still running offline competitions in NR 2003 with the different mods, and I don't see NH5 being better, likewise I bought the gold edition to see how it goes, what I hate in NH is the pit system when the yellow comes out and the replay system, I hope NH6 with the new engine improves those aspects

I’ve been behind this team and have bought every game + Season DLC since Heat Evolution. BUT this game is so blatantly a copy and paste that I will be passing on Heat 5. If they would have just released a 2020 paid DLC update to Heat 4, I would have likely purchased. Year over year I was happy with their minor improvements, but handing over $50 to “help them out” for almost no improvements from 4 to 5 is something I can not get behind. To each their own I guess.

Don't judge by my profile name, but I think the Nascar Heat Series should do 2 years of development for every Nascar Heat game from now on just like f1. F1 2020 and 2019 was made in parallel. And F1 2019 was made when F1 2018 was getting done. Meaning that this years F1 2020 game took around 2 to 3 years.

Heat 5 genuinely looks like a c&p but its a c&p of a good game. with added features. At least they didn't take out stuff like other companies do. I will be buying this game just later on. Hopefully in Heat 6 or whatever they call it, (hopefully they start changing the name like foe ex: NASCAR HEAT 2021 or something like that) there will be a fully editable paint booth like what the Forza games have. I'm really happy about the test sessions, thats a nice feature. But downloadable community creations, a story mode with your driver, (This maybe stretching it but,) A driver showcase with legends like for example Dale Earnhardt or Richard Petty or Jimmie Johnson, you go back to their rookie year and drive the final laps of their best races or something like that. It also has the different generation cars and drivers like the 87 Monte Carlos, 91 Luminas, 01 Monte Carlos, 08 Impalas, etc. I have a ton more impossible ideas. lol
I will always buy all the heat games for 1. It help to support the company 2. You have to think that there is so much you can do on a old game engine. 3. I know 5 is like 4 but more time they have on the new engine the better and more stuff they can do some people might not know this but you can run space on old game engines. Heat Evolution to this day is the only NASCAR game I've ever returned. But every year they've made progress to where I can say Heat 4 is pretty good. Not perfect but good.
While most people see EA as the ones who made the best NASCAR games, what most seem to forget is they started taking things away. I mean they took manufacturers away in a CAR game. 704 has made progress every year even if it is little steps

I'm getting NASCAR Heat 5 for a few reasons. There aren't any other games coming out anytime in the foreseeable future I'm interested in, I know I'm going to play it a lot, and I don't think I'll get a PS5 for at least a couple of years, meaning this will probably be my NASCAR game for 2 or 3 years. I do appreciate 704 seems pretty open with the players with the game's development. I'll admit, though, if there was even one other game coming out this year I wanted, I wouldn't be getting NH5, or I'd get it on sale, at least. It's probably a good thing I never played Heat Evolution if it was that bad (and just about every review I saw had that opinion), because I probably would've given up on the series immediately.

I just took my wife to lunch. Two salads, couple drinks, tip, $45. I think this game at $50 isn’t all that bad. I would have paid $30 for the 2020 season update on NH4 that didn’t happen. I still invest most of my time on NR2003 but the plug and play of NH5 even though it doesn’t compare is a “nice to have”.
I’m just going to wait for heat 6. Maybe the new engine will help them improve the physics. Heat 4 made 3,400 lbs cars bounce in the air like a plastic toy car failing off a kids shelf, and heat 5 appears to keep it the same. Also the damage models definitely need to be fix drastically

Unfortunately as close as mainstream stardom they came they never made it all the way. So they folded up and had to find jobs and such. Sad really they we're great!!

If they cared about making a great game instead of a quick buck they would pause their annual release schedule in order to have time to develop a proper game. They make very minimal changes every year yet still charge full price .
That wide camera angle seems terrible. Like yeah you can see more of what is around you (which is actually just even less realistic) and seems like it’s too hard to judge if you’re clear or not.
I laugh when I see heat games as a esport. Even NASCAR didn’t chose heat to run there races! If heat would stop doing a yearly release maybe the game would be different. This was a highly informative video. In my opinion, you could see the downward spiral of EA back in the early to mid 2000's. The last thing I'd want is for the company that killed the NR2k3 series to get a NASCAR game back. On the other hand, 704 Games has done a great job over the years improving their product.

i really like the evolution of the series i played evolution and hated it, played heat 3 and found it not to bad, still has issues but wassnt bad, looking forward to playing heat 5 and see how much the game has improved, my favorite nascar game was thunder 2004, game was insanely challenging in career mode on harder difficulties, im hoping that in heat 5 that they can simulate the car not being as good better, instead of the car just being slow but have it unable to handle and draft as good like was done with thunder, i have high hopes for nascar games if they stay with this developer and the game continues to improve

Coming from someone who plays Madden Ultimate Team, its refreshing to step into a game that's not all about micro transactions, ripping packs and getting the best cards. I am glad that EA does not produce our games. Madden gets worse every year and has not been good in around 10 years. NASCAR Heat has gotten better every game I cant wait to play next week
