Honestly this seems more like NASCAR Heat 4.5. Good improvements, but it's essentially the same game

I'd rather not spend my money at all and get NR2003, or save my money and get IRacing. I'm pretty sure the amount of money you would spend buying N15 to NH5, that's the amount of money it would cost to get an IRacing setup

@@anthonyf.3009 IRacing not only has a monthly subscription fee but if you actually want to do any serious oval racing you're going to have to plunk down some pretty serious money for the tracks and cars you'll need. Not to mention you're looking at a few hundred for an entry level setup to race or in the thousands for something mid-high range (I paid around $2000 CAD for my setup) Don't get me wrong I love IRacing (even with it's long time problems) but it's definitely a costly hobby. I do love me some NR2003 though and all you need for that is an entry lever wheel and pedals.

Travis I have to agree, learning the F1 game is different with everything that falls into just going into a race day, let alone trying to get your car better. Hopefully the team behind heat can look and take some pointers and implement something like this into the mix.

I agree with you about the cars driving more realistic. One thing I really enjoy is the way the clutch responds when switching gears, you can actually ride the clutch and ease it into first gear. I was not able to do this in HEAT 4.Anybody else notice this? I’m playing this on Xbox one BTW.
They probably wanted to get the game out early so they'd have plenty of open space and time to develop the new game

Yea ea is doing the same thing. The are about to release ufc 4 and it basically the previous ufc game but with slightly better graphics and less content and added skins for the player which doesn't fit because ufcs sponsorship with reebok

It would be cool if 704 Games could add late models to replace or be an addition to the Xtreme dirt tour and if they could add smaller tracks like 1/4 mile for the late models.

Thanks! I am a career guy doesn't sound like much has changed and with physics being pretty similar definitely holding off this year and seeing how Heat 6 looks with the new engine and if they develop the career mode to be even more in depth.
I've bought the game, the gold edition specifically, for the first days after buying it, I wasn't sure if it was going to be worth it. I saw Radman's video regarding supporting the devs and I honestly agree with that. They are a GOOD team, a small team that means well, I know I've said this before on his video on why you should buy it. But I had a bug on career in heat 4 where it wouldn't progress to the next race. I reported it, they told me they had a fix coming, and asked if I had any dlc. I hadn't any at the time so I told them not yet but I was looking to get the Season Pass. The Customer Service Rep told me that I didn't need to worry, they'd take care of it for me. They had made a fan for life, I promised them i'd buy their next game's gold edition. So I have. After Radman's first video and this one, I realized something, something that this video has only built upon. This next game, won't be the F1 2020 of NASCAR, I reckon the Nascar (Heat 8 if it's still called that then) will be the game we all look and hope for. I know it's a lot to ask to just hold on and support until then, stick by them, and I imagine they'll stick by us. F1 2010 is a hell of a lot different from 2020, Heat 5 will be a hell of a lot different from Heat 8. They need time to build this engine, so I reckon this game could get the Heat 3 treatment (I hope) where we get a 2021 Season Pass, gives them more chances to make money, new content, and gives them more time to make the next game as best it can. You don't have to buy it, but keep my words in mind, i'm not the smartest guy around, and I may be wrong in the future. But remember, giving Nascar back to EA would be stupid, look at FIFA, Madden, NHL, NBA... Just consider it, if you don't buy it, understandable, look forward to seeing you all on the track.

Thank you for reminding me of this, I’m personally not going to buy it as I just don’t have the money. Ghost of Tsushima already stole my wallet for now lol. Though if it gets down to 20-30 bucks months from now I just might, even if I won’t play it I’ve had it with the current physics it’s just not enjoyable to me anymore. Nothing against the developers. Like you said they are good people but I’ve gotta wait this out.

7:04 those paint schemes youre going through ARE the challenge rewards, because those werent there before i played the challenges, and now that ive completed them the paint schemes are there. so its not the challenge drivers paint scheme you unlock but instead you get another drivers scheme.
Those r just age verification schemes and a challenge reward paint schemes would be either a car eight confetti or a car with damage

I was hoping for it to be a little better. Cant believe they released it unfinished. The DLCs better be 🔥. For anyone thats upset about the rim color glitch like myself... I made the paint scheme match that until they fix it lol
The reasons you gave about games not being finished before release is exactly why I don't buy hard copies of games anymore. I also very rarely preorder games. I don't even buy games until I watch reviews by game players. No I don't go by what IGN reviews.

I will never understand how u can make 5 games in a row and make it impossible every year to run the outside lane. When there’s a race that goes into overtime with only 2 laps to go and I restart on the outside lane and I already know I have no chance at winning the race.
I play heat 3 and I'm an absolute beast on the outside. I make a shit ton of passes that way, so I disagree completely.
We might need to wait to heat 7 or 8 to get a better one, once you switch a game engine, the devs have to get used to the engine, which means we may not get a good heat game until heat 7 or 8.

They should take notes on NASCAR 15 tbh. markings on the wall when you hit them, moving catch fences when you hit the wall, cockpit sounds and window net shaking, better night graphics, you name it.
and a paint booth
1) If Chase Briscoe can keep his lane and not lose speed after he saved his in Turn 1 then no the physics are not good/better.
2) If the custom championship mode is not complete while the tracks are in the actual game than that is lazy/unforgivable.
3) No racing line on road courses during the actual race is completely ignorant and would be so easy for 704 to add to the game.
4) The music. Come on. The music is so trash!
Again, another year that i will be sitting out. The quality of the product after 5 years is purely not worth the price tag. F1 2020 is such a complete game that I would be happy to sink my time and money into.

Wait why would there need to be a racing line on the road courses? If you run the track in practice, you’ll just learn the braking points from repetition.
Talked to DIS this afternoon. The Daytona Road Course will be used for the Busch Clash starting in 2021. This August road course weekend for ARCA, Trucks, Xfinity and Cup is a one time thing.

Exact same game with minor updates. We're at the 5th game of the series? Why should we content with a bad product? We shouldn't be expected to pay 60 dollars for small ass updates.

What F1 and Gran Turismo games are you playing? Because they have licenses similar to iRacing.. if you’re clean and fast you get matched up with similar players and vice versa. 704 really needs to get in control of online racing. It’s a mess and it’s been a mess since game one.

I may've missed a few things here, but here's the take away I got from the video:
Pros:
- Custom Schedule ability
- Track Testing
Cons:
- A boatload of bugs
- Same AI as in Heat 4
- No rewards for challenges (currently)
- A lacking paint booth
- An unrealistic DNF system
- Still no caution replays
- $50 price tag
That $50 is way too much for an unfinished game that is lacking in new features. Mostly what I heard from this video is, "it's Heat 4 with a ton of bugs and minimal new features"
The publisher canned the dev from nh3 and 4, and thought they'd just do it themselves, and that's what it resulted in, a copy of nh4 with bugs lol

I’m just waiting for the game to be fixed and the Indy Road Course and Daytona Road Course (if they are), and the custom schedules to be fixed (example: Cup at Iowa, Xfinity at Sonoma, and Trucks at The Glen. Yeah, that custom schedule I wanna see in the game)

A MyTeam mode in the next NASCAR game would be sick. Hire/fire drivers past and present, get different cars and change sponsors... I think that would be amazing.
One thing I can’t stand are the numbers being so dark for custom paint schemes. Hopefully that’ll get fixed
To be honest I was really disappointed with this game it is buggy as hell and a clone of heat 4 in most aspects. They shouldn't charge 50$ for a half cloned game that is unfinished. Also i thinks it is still stupid that they make you pay for paint schemes.
fryguyclip Z Couldn’t agree more. I would love to see a remastered version of Nascar thunder but under a different developer. These heat games have outdated arcade graphics the gameplay is horrible they need to have more realistic damage and realistic looking crashes,they need commentary and driver introduction. They need to go back to the days of nascar thunder 2003 and 2004 when they had commentary,a grand marshal and the flyover and national anthem and the damage physics were better with fenders and hoods flying off the cars and engines blew and they had car in flames, i would also love to see lightning challenges and thunder plates to unlock free paint schemes and legend drivers and fantasy tracks like back in nascar 2003 and 2004

They need to add online racing leagues. Similar to Online Franchise in Madden or in 2k. Avoid the public online lobbies
They need to have system like iracing so you can match with drivers that actually want to race

One thing that I noticed is that the Name Plates on the back of some cars are wrong. In the XFinity Series, you have "Starr" on the back of Jeffrey Earnhardt's car and "Allgaier" on the back of Ryan Sieg's car

Patches and updates are meant to fix small problems that went unnoticed and to add dlc and other things. Does ANYBODY know how to turn dnf's off? not for career but just for season mode. Putting the setting to no damage didn't help at all.

I honestly have to disagree with your opinion on the physics. I have been majorly disappointed with the driving physics on all these heat games. Even when I go and play the buggy nascar 14 and 15 the driving physics are wayyy better and you can actually do things to make you faster when these games I pick up the controller and it take me 2 laps to master the tracks. And the getting lose feeling is just really unrealistic. Play nascar 15 on Kansas and try to run the top right next to the wall, most fun I have ever had. Thanks for the review and no hate but I love nascar games but haven't been able to get into these because of the handling model and I feel no challenge beside a little from the AI. Its always try to just get below the next guy and run the inside line too much

I preorder nascar heat 5 and I would give it a 5-5.5 out of 10. It has potential but like you said it was released finish. Even Ea delayed the bf5 launch because they were not ready.I think they also delayed bf5 launch because it was schedule to come out between Cod and rdr2

F1 is definitely a better put together game and I would love to see a nascar game like that. Code masters has been doing f1 for a decade, 704 has a big opportunity to nail it on this next engine I just hope they come through.

The last nascar heat game I bought was heat 2 and I hated it. Bought heat 5 and I absolutely love it!!!
Or when a caution comes out, the spotter will tell you what happend instead of the reason why the caution came out pops out on the screen
The core physics and A.I. look very solid, and are probably top notch for a NASCAR game. I’ve never played any of the new Heat games, mostly because I didn’t like the mold ones on PS2. Thunder was waaayyyy better than Heat when they were competing. So my opinions on the newest Heat games have always been formed by watching other people play them.
Cars are way too heavy and “dense” when they make contact with each other. That’s how it was in the old games too. The game still sounds bad, but at least it’s better than how it sounded in Evolution. It does look pretty good though, and has made huge graphical improvements since Evolution, but I think it still looks bad at night compared to other games.
Career looks solid, and would probably be more than acceptable if F1 wasn’t absolutely killing it with their career mode. F1’s career looks like it would be the natural evolution from NASCAR Thunder’s career modes, while Heat’s hasn’t really changed at all since Dirt to Daytona.
The fact that there are no caution replays is a joke, and running at 30FPS on consoles in unacceptable, when 60FPS has been the standard since current gen released. 60 has really been the standard since like 2010, but not running 60 on current gen is absolutely unacceptable.
As far as NASCAR games go, I’d say Heat 5 is probably 5.5/10. Not horrible, but not special at all. Compared to all racing games, Heat 5 is like a 3/10.

my biggest complaint for not just heat 5 but the past 3 games is the paint booth with the sponsors rear quarter panel are just too small nothing like what the real thing has their sponsors on the car wish they would get things more accurate
NASCAR Heat really should continue the DLC paint schemes into the next game if the driver stays the same... I guess it ain't an issue anymore since they no longer have the license...

Thomas I am european I am not that much into NASAR, I gave HEAT 5 a shot, after not playing a NASCAR game since PS3, so I wonder what is the best NASCAR game ever? And who the hell dort they game the license to a Company that actually do Make great Racing games?
I strongly encourage most people to buy disc versions of games. I've bought several digital and many disc version. I see a lot more problems with the digital versions than disc. This is not a nascar heat problem. This is several games I played. I bought the disc version of Nascar Heat 5. It has not crashed once. It hasn't froze once either. There are more problems in digital versions. That seems to be the trend now, going digital. But, stick with disc. If you take care of the game and don't get scratches most games run considerably better!

NOW that alone for what i just said, goes to show how bad these developers are. Nothing new needs to be added, so these small bugs and retarded shit shouldn't be in the game. Or improvements to the ALREADY in game modes should be a priority but they don't. Thats why i stopped buying. Heat 4 was my 1st modern day nascar game and its alright but failed to keep me playing alot like the ps2 era

For me I got the first three heat games and after the third one I stopped because I realized there wasn’t much difference from NASCAR heat three then there was from NASCAR heat evolution in my opinion the games were trash they were just not as good as the old NASCAR games were that kind of scared me away so I didn’t purchase NASCAR heat 4 however I am thinking definitely about purchasing NASCAR heat five it’s just I kind of miss NASCAR inside line that was the game I really liked
Probably released early as the new consoles are due in October. So who would want to buy this just before a new console comes out. .

Love your videos. But I do have a question for you and or everyone else who sees this. I have bought all the NASCAR racing games from 2007 - NASCAR Heat Evolution. That game is the last one I have played. That’s 5 years ago. From what I can see, this game is much better than the first. Now with all the bugs and stuff going on, because I really wanna buy this game, should I wait maybe a few weeks or even a month before I actually purchase this, to see if there have been updates to the game and it has gotten better? I’m leaning more towards that but I wanna see if anyone else has an opinion. I hope all is well for whoever sees this and that you guys are staying healthy and safe.
Nicholas Zoida heat 4 is your best bet, it only has issues with physics doing a pedal rig.
