Two weirdly accurate things about animals in this movie:
1. We don't tend to notice it much, but humans are very smelly. Two horny humans in the middle of a densely populated forest will draw a lot of attention and chances are that some animals will get curious and gather to watch what is going on.
2. If a deer or deer related animal finds an open corpse in the middle of the forest, it will lick up the blood and gnaw on the bones. There are many highly available minerals in it that the animal will not let go to waste.
I always thought the animals knew she was about to eat him, and they wanted some scraps.
I love how everyone completely forgets the flashback of Needy sucking Jin's blood when they were playing in the sandbox, that's how they're connected.....blood lol
This movie really is genius when you realize how self aware it is and intentionally picking apart the expected tropes
I believe Jennifer and Needy are connected because during that sandbox scene when they are kids, Needy has a cut on her finger and Jennifer takes it to her lips, taking in Needys blood. I could be totally wrong but this is the impression other people and I have gotten.
Also it could have been Needy taking in Jennifer's blood. I forget despite the fact I literally just watchdd it with you guys lol

I adored Diablo Cody's screenplay and film. I was surprised by the reaction by many viewers and low box office following Juno.
The studio's marketing of the film was largely to blame. "Transformers" made Megan Fox into little more than an object of male-gaze, and so the studio for "Jennifer's Body" leaned HEAVILY into that in their marketing and in the trailer. The studio promoted it as eye-candy for horny teenage boys, much to the dismay of Diablo Cody and Karyn Kusama, because that was NOT the film they made, nor was the "horny teenage boy" demographic their intended audience.
I thought it was a fantastically dark, funny film done wrong by greedy, out of touch studio execs. I'm glad it finally got the recognition it deserved.
This movie is what Morbius should have been
Amanda the Jedi's channel did a short breakdown of this movie a couple years ago that's really worth watching. It's such a sad waste how the studio treated this film and the people that made it.
The bar burning down can kind of be considered a nod to the tragedy of the bar that burned down when Great White was playing, in 2003.
The movie "Kate" had Band Maid play 2 songs in it and one was in a concert setting. Songs were "Blooming" in the car chase and "Choose Me" in a concert setting. Best band in Hard Rock today.
I love Clarus getting the most excited at the Aquamarine reference.

You can tell that this film was directed by a woman, especially when they show Megan Fox's body. It's not unnecessary sexualisation.

Ya see I first watched this movie, years ago, expecting pure horror. Now I’m a sucker for a bad horror movie but that isn’t Jennifer’s body (at least not really). I enjoy it for what it is but I still struggle with giving it “self aware” status probably because I wanted it to be a bad horror movie.
Edit: I also forgot Chris Pratt was in this movie.
Amy Sedaris owned it in Strangers with Candy. If both or one of you haven't seen it, it'll be a new favorite. Plus, Stephen Colbert plays a gay or bi guy so there's that for you

Raise Your Voice (another Hilary Duff movie) had Simple Plan play in a scene! The characters went to their concert
1. The language in teen movies from this time is specifically because of Diablo Cody, the writer and producer of JB, who also wrote Juno.
2. This movie used salty before it became an internet memeword.
It may be super straightforward for you since, U SEEN THE MOVIE BEFORE! Your wife has not seen it. This was her first time.🙄😂

I watched this movie only a few years ago after viewing a video of Megan and the director interviewing each other about Jennifer’s Body, so I knew what the movie was attempting to go for ahead of time. The studio did this movie dirty on multiple levels but over sexualizing Megan was at the top.
What dang near ruined the movie for me was Kyle Gallner. He qualifies as “one of those actors you just hate for no apparent reason.”😝
