This whole movie is The Vibe, it's almost too iconic. I mean Maya Hawke asking "did I make Revenge Mommy proud?" killed me.

I cannot believe how much I LOVED this movie when I watched it. When the Eleanor reveal happened I actually jumped off my couch, jumping up and down, and shrieking. Such a wonderful rollercoaster of a movie and the best ending.
I love this movie so much. I’m glad they’re bringing this genre of teen comedies back. I thought this movie was hilarious and I didn’t see that twist coming at all. Camila and Maya both killed it. It’s definitely already one of my comfort movies that I’m gonna rewatch at least once a year. Also if y’all liked this then y’all will definitely like Honor Society. It’s another teen comedy that came out recently and has a lot of the same vibes as Do Revenge and it’s hilarious. Very underrated in my opinion. I really hope y’all will consider reacting to it. I haven’t seen a single reaction video to it on YT. I desperately need one.
I felt I saw so much more of Maya’s mom in her on this role
this movie was a pleasant netflix original surprise because it had that replayability mean girls and pitch perfect have, i think when this came out i watched it a good 6 times. I wasnt glued to the screen all of those times but it was just so fun to have on in the background and catch lines i didnt catch before. All in all Do Revenge earned her place in the witty chick flick universe

This one was in my top 5 movies of last year. Usually my favourites list is all horror movies but this broke right through. It gave me such nostalgia from all the movies I loved as a teen.

I think you might really like the tv series 'Ripley' when it comes out - it was a book series first and there have been a few movies so that's why I know you might like the plot-line. No idea when it's coming out though.
The books - all by Patricia Highsmith who once brought snails in her handbag to a party saying that they were her 'plus one' and claimed that she found the smell of turpentine to be erotic because her mum told her that she drank it when she was pregnant with her to try to get rid of her - are:

For movies there's 'Plein SOleil/Purple Noon' from the 60s starring Alain Delon based on 'The Talented Mr Ripley', there's 'The Talented Mr Ripley' starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, Cate Blanchett and Gwenyth Paltrow from the 90s. They're both really REALLY good. I think there's also a movie for 'Ripely's Game' but I haven't seen it yet, and one more though I don't remember which book it's based off. What makes Mr Ripley talented? Well, there's his skills at signature, his skills at impersonations, his patience, his planning, his calmness, his taste in the finer things, and the fact that he only stoops to murder if it's actually necessary.
I guess the questions to summarise the 'Ripliad' as the books were called would be - a) would you rather be a fake somebody or a real nobody? b) is it such a crime to want nice things? c) survival is key, isn't it?
If you like charming personalities, ruthless cunning and manipulations of everyone around you, Ripley's undoubtedly the master.

This was a really good movie. The politics was an interesting touch. Showed how some people use identity politics to get themselves a leg up in competition, but not because they actually care about those issues. I would not be friends with either of these girls. They're both awful.
I see you agreeing with Russ about the texts that Drea leaked, but I want you to think about what those texts were. They were proof that these girls were sleeping with Max behind Eleanor's back. So Russ is just being a privileged ****.
i mean... there's a difference between deliberatly and voluntarily cheating on someone versus intimate messages/pictures being leaked to an entire school against your will. both bad, but the second option is infinitely worse so russ isn't being privileged - he's just right.

@@krissmith8851 ... literally no? i said leaking possible intimate material/nudes of those girls is bad. you based calling russ privileged on saying that on the fact that the girls were cheating with max - that is true, they're horrible people. BUT possibly releasing their nudes or whatever intimate things they said IN those texts (which you can see they are intimate based on the one shot of his texts with allegra where she's naked in it but is covering herself with tarrot cards - the messages are intimate AND include partial nudes), THAT'S what i'm saying he's not privileged about. you can get all the revenge you want, prove their cheaters and liars whatever. she can leak the messages all she wants, that's her perogative, but the actual stuff IN the messages is wrong. that's what i'm saying.
