Hi....really interesting to see this old video of the pier. I was the General Manager between 1992 and 1998, and i'm sorry to say that your estimation of the date is 5 years out......this is in fact 1997, based on the rides that you show and some of the sideshows. Many people will fondly remember Dave Jaysen, the pier radio station dj, who is sadly no longer with us, but who played an amazingly eclectic selection of music.
I think there was a pirate ship called 'Viking' where the Harvester is now. pretty sure it was there in 1992 and can't see it in this video. Great old footage though, thanks for posting!
@ 3:47 Fascinating to learn that the Spice Girls had formed and released the song 'Wannabe' in 1992. I wonder if that's the reason they called the then 15yr old Emma Bunton 'baby spice'?
I am so proud to be a part of this beautiful city, I LOVE IT HERE!
This is a very interesting video and it's so nice to see Brighton back in the 1990's. Thank you for uploading.
It wasn't the Brighton Pier to at least 1999. Thankfully, it is now called the "Brighton Palace Pier".

Why, I never thought of that.

Because the date is wrong! It is much later than 1992 as lot of the attraction shown here wouldn't have opened yet anyway. This must be around 1997.
Also, this can't be from 1992. The Turbo Roller Coaster didn't open till 1996. Plus, there was no Spice Girls!
Oh yeah Spice Girls in 1992 What the hell sir. This is 1997ish NOT 1992. Wron Music for a totally wrong year!!!
spice girls wannabe playing in the background which was released in 96. Would put this spring 1997....
This was no way 92 it was around 97
Spice Girls at 3:37 So yes def 1997
*Think you're right!*
As a brightonian I commend the video, dates irrelevant.
