Likely there won't be a second chance. The only other Canadian team is Montreal who made finals but imploded then next season they've been bottom feeders and can't even make playoffs.

Sometimes it happens. Everyone was on roll and each player scored one goal including Connor McDavid finally. McDavid produces lots of assists but no goals so it's high time this bad boy start lifting the team.
Skinner almost had that too. If the tip was different, he likely would have caught it and got that shutout.
As a panthers fan I hope this was a one time thing. Series is still in our grasp but the oilers are starting to burn our hand.

Oilers showed some of the greatness that they had in the later part of the regular season. Like during the 16 game winning streak. I was at the Detroit game in Edmonton, where the Oilers scored 8 times. This game reminded me of that one, but with less goals given up.

Honestly, regardless of the outcome, Edmonton over achieved this season. First bit of the season we were dead in the water, and stormed back to relevance, we did good to even make the final. This game will be one of the most memorable in oilers history regardless, and we’re all proud of em 🤷🏼♂️
And even if it doesn’t go our way this season, it’s only our first season with a seemingly great coach.

100% on point. Both teams played good, Edmonton just played better and finally got through that Terminator of a goalie. Edmonton's probably gonna lose on Tuesday, and if they do, it was a good playoff run either way. Can't complain about either team winning really.

I think the major factor was that Florida got complacent starting in the 3rd period of game 3. They looked like the lost that hunger. It's probably better for Florida losing in this fashion because it'll lite a fire under them again. Bob and Tkachuk are prob going to come into next game with a vengeance.

If you were playing close attention to the series and you saw the oilers high chances from the slot and high danger chance percentages etc, it's not THAT shocking. Bob was making the panthers look immortal in games where average goal tending would have gone the other way. The dam broke.

Each series the Oilers played this year was pretty hairy for 3 games, then Knoblauch figured out some good combos and made adjustments and then they ran the table. After the WCF game 3 Dallas looked like they were cruising and then the Oilers won three straight. Not saying thats going to hsppen this time but i think they have it in them.

Florida cleary didn't want to push their players too hard after the first few goals from Edmonton. Backchecking was lazy and they stopped fighting hard on the boards.
No one has believed in the Oilers aside from our fanbase since the start of the playoffs, its been an up and down ride, but Oil country keeps cheering for the Oilers, regardless of what happens. The home fans got a legendary playoff game on home ice, we are the only team in these playoffs to get bob pulled 5 goals on 12 shots, no one else can say that. Panthers did not give the Oilers anything, they came and took it. Panthers are still an amazing team and will probably win the cup but this game was crazy, oh and I do truly believe McDavid is now in the running for the Conn Smythe, breaking Gretzky's post season assist record and becoming the all time leader can't simply be ignored, albeit, McDavid wants Lord Stanley more lol.

I don't want a sweep. You're correct: three more games extends the season that much longer, even though my team was already eliminated. But BECAUSE of Edmonton defeating my team - I'm hoping Florida wins at all. Last night's game, which I watched completely, was depressing.
This series could be going the other way if it weren't for Bob in the first 3 games. It's amazing how a single hot player can change the course of a series.

I said at the beginning of the series that the Panthers will take it in five. I am sticking with that. They got the split they wanted in Edmonton, and hopefully can finish it off in Sunrise. Glad that they won at least one game. A sweep would be a disaster after getting this far. McDavid being held to no goals would be remembered forever. But, those two things came to an end tonight. Bobrovsky has been brought back down to Earth and is no longer invincible. Skinner looked great, with a bit of help from the post and crossbar. Still a long uphill battle to win, but that game gave us a glimmer of hope. Keep it up.

I've called a gentleman's sweep before the series. The cup will be won in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday.
I had a feeling getting those 2 goals in the final period of game 3 would help the oilers. They know new they could score more than one in a game, and more than 2 in game, and even 2 in a period. But I didn’t not expect it to help them that much. Florida played a sloppy game though, bad zone entries and bad line changes. Game 5 will not be the same goal differential, and Florida is gonna be mad. I don’t want to say Edmonton can’t, they were a comeback team all year, but I don’t see Florida dropping this one. Seriously it is not over until its over. The first 2 games the oilers outplayed Florida for big parts of those games and kept shooting low. And the end of game 3 and this entire game the were elevating the puck as well as working the puck cross crease. If they come out hot next game and silence the crowd and get in the panters heads. They could pull out a win like they did in Dallas. Could ypu imagine the cats having to come back to edmonton. It is far from over and this team is playing like a well oiled machine.
I agree that 99% of the time, the series is over at 3-0.
But just for that 1% ... If any team from the current professional sport can come back from 3-0, this year's Oilers DEFINATELY can!
