    Nice comparison - however it's important to understand the scope of each mod.
    All though LAMB and SFSM seem close to each other they are different animals.
    SFSM emulates the reptile brain of a soldier and only deals with how soldiers reactions to contact and is concerned about their survival.
    It lets the unit react to incoming bullets, sounds, impacts, explosions, wounds etc and then makes the soldier duck/flinch, return fire and dodge for cover.
    Also the showcase here shows an earlier version where the AI would TK their own group.
    This has been fixed now, and you will see a totally different outcome..
    So I would recommend re-doing the comparison now :)
    As for Danger.FSM it also makes the AI perform tactics and make AI suppress and use GL's etc.
    SFSM does not.
    SFSM is basically the first step in a larger AI mod suite called Chain of Command which will simulate all levels of command from Task force level down to the individual soldier.
    It's a massive undertaking, but worth to check out :)

      Thanks, i really should’ve looked into how sfsm worked prior to doing the comparison. Currently working on a newer video that will have somewhat of a fairer comparison.

      Keep in mind that SFSM 0.45 is released today.
      It has one lesser error we are working on now.
      Shouldn't be triggering if you're not using mods.

      And one comment regarding the video.
      I like the top view in high speed, but watching the fight in full speed was impossible for me to follow.
      Maybe we could see highlights that moves in real time instead?

      Well - no harm done I guess.
      Check out the new update. At least me personally find it pretty amazing.
      Recommend checking the feature news /mod description - and then look for the when it happens.
      The new update makes the AI really hard to kill and you'll have to make sure you're not in the usual ARMA turkey shoot mindset that get from playing unresponsive AI.
      I also REALLY recommend testing SFSM with CF_BAI

    I Use a combo of lambs, vcom, cf_bai (so ai can’t see through foliage, and acstg (ai can’t see through grass). Works amazing together…you can actually do stealth missions and not get detected

    The movement bugs that you are seeing with lambs are actually the dodge feature, as far as i can tell. AFAIK, It's there to make the AI harder to kill when a player is shooting at the AI, because they tend to be very immobile and static by default. Altogether, Lambs is built from the perspective of player vs AI, so AI vs AI battles don't really showcase the benefits that it gives. I personally turn the dodging off from the CBA options menu, because it just looks and feels too janky to my preferences. Anyway, thanks for the comparison, this was an interesting watch.

      it's such a gamey feature, like in battlefront 2, soldiers don't do gymnastics to dodge bullets in real life, they take cover

    Another thing to note is that A3 AI is basically just A2 AI; the fact that it's so "bad" by default is just that A3 terrain is waaaay more complex, and the AI has to navigate all that with an old framework. Also, things like what guns the AI uses affects things to a big degree because the weapon configs are themselves a kind of "gun AI"; RHS, CUP, NIArms and Vanilla weapons can give very different experiences with the same AI settings. Personally, I'm looking forward to Reforger and possibly Arma 4 being a fresh start. I don't think A3 can be improved much beyond a certain point without big compromises, even though what modders like LAMBS team achieve is really great in comparison to the default.

    My one major problem with AI mobs is the waypoints. Ive given AI squads waypoints to follow, they'll follow normal move here and there waypoints but the second they are in a firefight then they end up ignoring the next waypoint and just stand there doing nothing.

      Use the rush LAMBS module, it forces them to move.

    I wish the devs would tweak the AI a bit more so that they take cover a bit more and do better use of grenades/smokes, plus get pathfinded buildings and reduce vehicle/turret AI accuracy, before abandoning Arma 3 for good. Some AI mods are decent, but they break most custom scenarios and probably campaign too.

      Arma 3 is still being updated, there was litteraly a major update few months ago also the whole game is built upon modding and you arent supposed to play vanilla

      Vcom either combined with lambs or stand alone. They are compatible with each other but when combined for some reason ai wont fire RPGs on enemy vehicles so I'd recommend only using Vcom if you plan to use AT's agains vehicles.

    how many mods do you have loaded?
    as soon as i load this mod my game is very hard to be playable.
    and i try every ai mods out there. but only this great mod is stuck my game.

      The only good AI mod that is currently being worked on seems to be DCO and it has improved a lot since the release of this video. As for the tests, I haven't done any comparisons but I still test DCO since they have a new version coming out.

    Hi eyppusht! I have two questions, maybe you can help me (if your are familiar with LAMBS waypoints, maybe I'll be lucky). First - I put TASK RUSH(Lambs.FSM waypoint) so my AI Squad can rush enemy group very aggresively. After the enemy group is wiped out, my AI team is standing over some dead enemy bodies in circle, and they are not proceeding to next waypoints? If I put any other DEFAULT waypoint this is not the issue and they continue on next waypoints (for example: MOVE waypoint). This happens only with LAMBS waypoints. So, do you know any way that my AI team consider a dead enemy group as a finished waypoint (Task Rush- Lambs waypoint) and not just standing above their dead bodies in a circle? I am not some scripter, but maybe it's some expression I should type into waypoint... I don't know. And the second one - I am wondering where can I find Vanilla AI mod? I can't find it on steam in workshop? Thanks!

      Sorry mate but unfortunately i dont think there is a way to accomplish this. I've tried using trigger type "skip waypoint", making the ai squad be transferred onto a new squad and giving them a "move" waypoint after trigger activation but the "rush" waypoint script never ends, the squad always stands in place or only the squad leader moves to the new waypoint. As for the vanilla ai, its normal arma 3 ai . In most games no mods is referred to as "vanilla".

      Yeah, I am not on the dev team but I have caused this behavior myself more than once. The Arma AI has a really strong desire to do nothing. You might be able to get a better idea what is going if you join the ai squad and just listen to the radio commands. Or ask the leader to repeat last. Its possible you do that and you just hear All move to All move to All Move to. One thing too is just to try shoting a few of them to see if they snap out of it. I mean its a scripting problem but its either a loop or parts of their brain have been shut off during the script and never turn back on. Actually the squad leader moving, is also something I have seen but to get the ai to do advanced things some times you have to break them from the group formation, so the script breaks them off then never gives them back to the leader so... there they stand where their last move order was. But again you could see some of this by joining the ai group as a player and following along. Another way to see their psychology is just spawn in as an ememy hide in a bush wait till this happens. If you can walk right up to them they are brain dead, if they wake up after you shoot a couple they were trapped in bad logic. If they react really slowly might be a loop. One other thing but if you shoot the leader of the group it might shake things loose then the new leader attempts to sort things out.

      How come? The only broken thing i’ve really noticed is that the ai would continue shoot for extended periods of time even though the enemy was dead.

      @@heyziel occasionally they will suppress where enemies aren't even near, or to the sky. i believe there was a bug fix for this but it still can happen AFAIK

      @@dragz4life422 Yep. Can confirm that entire groups will still get stuck suppressing the sky. Sometimes happens even when there's no aircraft present to trigger them shooting upwards.
