I 100% agree with you - however I'm just gonna use it as an opportunity to slow myself down and enjoy all these nice visual upgrades they made. I feel like I often can play most of this game with my eyes closed at this point so I guess it was cool of them to refresh it.
I've already got 3.5 billion units and nothing to spend them on. The trading updates are nice but would be better if there were more options for spending units.
Use Outlaw stations to convert to nanites so that you can make lots of ships? There's PLENTY to spend units on if you aren't uh... Missing/ignoring the mechanics
Would be fun if we had operational cannons on freighters. Imagine buying crazy expensive modules like "Laser cannon", "Railcannon", "Mining laser" for your freighter and then firing them at your enemies in space or on the planet🤩 Imagine you're walking past some ore deposit and like "nah, I don't feel like spending time on efficient mining". You call your freighter, point it with your multitool or visor to this deposit and ship mines it automatically
Brilliant. Another gold star for HG. Now we just need the last 2 updates and we can call it done I think, then onto Light No Fire. The first being setting up material processing facilities, manufacturing and such. So you can set up a mine and let it all feed into refiners and boxes automatically. And the second being able to set up traders and trade routes. Everything is in place for these things to happen. For a bonus they could also let us build our own space stations in empty systems.
They have two teams, one working on LNF, and the smaller one is dedicated to NMS. Sean has stated the game will continue to be updated as long as players support the game
Not struck on the redesign of the space station interiors but am loving the spaceship building, although bit annoyed that you have to choose which part you want to salvage instead of being able to salvage the whole ship and being able to change your ship in the station is brilliant!
Pretty nice improvements... I skip over the grind in custom and creative modes to enjoy searching out cool places to build bases... I'm hoping for an update to allow our flora discoveries to be used to landscape our bases... That would be awesome... 🙂
i was amazed of the patchnotes......and a bit disappointed in game. The main feature is: customize your spaceship. But the procedural spacestation notes made me believe, they ....would feel different. Instead we still have again one fixed interior design. Layout is always the same. So i see here a missed oppurtunity to bring more variations to space stations. Outside in space, they look more different now...but i was hoping for a bit more for the interior part instead of just swapping colors.

I don't know if i'm this dumb. But I did not find the Overseer on the station to hire, I searched every corner in the station but he simply is not there. If someone find him please reply because I stuck in the Ghost in The Machine questline
I've been playing on Playstation but still on occasion, played it on XBOX. I'm glad I invested into the PlayStation because PS consoles perform sooo much better & the updates are on time. The only disappointment I have with the Orbital update is they no longer have the sitting rooms & lounges on the stations. And they have yet give players ownership with these stations.
Two space station 'updates' that I think are downgrades are the elimination fo any requirement for an Atlas Pzass 3 card for rooms in the new stations. They still are useful in Abandoned system stations, but everything else can be opened with the Atlas Pass 2, so for some people it may be just as well to hang onto the 240 Emeril the Atlass Pas 3 requires for being created. In a related note, I both very much enjoyed the two trade terminals, and the coffee-sop and conference rooms on the previous stations, Especially when the Vi'keen system stations had Nanite stashes in both places on their stations. It would be interesting if on some stations those 3 floors that look like they are walled off now, opened to a meeting space on the ground floor, a coffee shop on the 2nd floor, and a Synth driven Rave Room on the top floor. There may have been some mis-communication between dev and docs team with regardws to the Pirate Transponders, as the help text says they can be redeamed with the Mercenary's Guild, however I'm not seeing any method of redeaming them there. Fortunately the sell on the market for more than the price of a Wiring loom.
This looks great, the stations had been over looked for so long, given that the anomalous spheres have so much, this brings them in line. The one little thing I would wish/ask, and had bugged me since the game launched. I would really welcome the ability to check the Galaxy map without having to go into space every time. You know, maybe just jump into my ship or have some tech or dedicated room in your Base that allows you to view the map, say maybe a large telescope or dish array that would look cool and could be a mission in it's self too get the plans and build. It's a small thing but totally doable given HG reputation.
Look its cool they added ship customization but how they did it SUCKS, waiting almost 10 years for this is not what we wanted... COLORS.... WHERE IS BLACK! they need to update the update and let us customize OUR CURRENT SHIPS AND OUR FLEET.... Let us buy the pieces from a vendor, let us salvage the parts and sell them, GIVE US MORE OPTIONS.

Remote guidance requests have been a thing for a LONG time? Part of me says that the game is so big and the team is so small with such a high turnover rate, that new people have no idea what the last people did. Remember recently there was an pdate to show all black holes on the galaxy map? Yeah, Starseed did that. But they never removed or changed that item, now it's useless.
strange thing is, when getting discounts also selling prices are less. so in factions with negative standing i can sell upgrades for much higher prices

Look for the ship icon , it's a vertical spaceship, all white. the symbol may be below the horizon, so climb higher up. Once you see it head in that direction.

Im not a fan of procedural buildings they are sometimes really bizarre, make no sense, well that's my experience from starfield

Not exactly the same thing but you can tag cool flora, fauna, and minerals then use a wonder projector.

assuming this is new and i wasn't just being inept until now, being able to switch ships that are docked on the fly is also super great.
It's new, used to only be able to do it on the space anomaly or planets

Ship customization is the wrong term to use because you cant customize your existing ship only build new ships. Still love it

I found something else, the vulnerable server, it gives you free stuff.
Were we able to see "core" stats on ships when we scan them? I don't remember seeing a core shield number and the number for how much it was upgraded.

I want to love this game so bad, however I cant get passed the combat. I wish they would do an overhaul on it to make it more fluid and fun.
To be fair combat has changed a bit recently with sentinels and space combat. Though it's still a bit easy and repetitive
