You can skip the repair step if you summon your crashed ships on the Anomaly before going to a space station. When you summon any ship on the Anomaly, Launch thrusters and Pulse drive are instantly repaired for free.
Oh man, I haven’t played since the next generation update for Xbox series X/S and PS5. When you said “gone are the days of ship hunting” I immediately remembered the hours I spent loading and leaving and reloading a save to refresh space station ship spawns until I found a class S or somthing. But you can literally build your dream ship using different ships! I can’t wait to play again! (Also great video!)
Thanks! Yes, ship hunting isn’t truly dead. Each naturally found ship has a “authentication verified” tag on it now, just under the name. Naturally occurring ships are worth more too! But, yeah, if you only care for the look - ship hunting isn’t necessary… but ship part sourcing is!
Perfect guide. So this new alternate method to ship hunting is choosing the specific parts you want for your ship, then hopping from system to system space station and testing each one? The tradeoff is that you get slightly lower stats compared to naturally seeded ships.
Man, first time I see a video from you. Totally dig the depth, the style of explaining, and the music in the background is god-tier! (Motivated me to find a good music playlist to play NMS). Totally subscribed :) Good luck out there and thx for the great video!
Hey! Thanks! I appreciate that. Fun fact - all the music is from 65daysofstatic’s No Man’s Sky: Music for an Infinite Universe. MOSTLY because it doesn’t get flagged for copyright. This track is called “Supermoon”.
Great Video. Very clever way to make final determination of ship config. I still have found no coords to any specific space stations that have fabricators that meet our criteria.
@@GhostLightXE So, the configuration of SC slots change at the same space station fabricator dependent on what parts you use. I have been jumping around trying to build a radiant hull, SweptMid wing, MonoThruster with at least 3-1 SC slots. About 5 jumps in and I found it. I think each fabricator will build a great Super Charge Slot ship, the hard part is figuring out what parts to use to get there... Mind Numbing. I have the portal coords if anyone wants them.
Lol I ended up warping from 3 star system to 3 star system to finally have decent stats and 3 powerslots next to each other with my prefered parts selection. But the hunt for that perfect combo never ends.
Thanks, I was wondering about this. This adds new depth to ship hunting actually. I was wondering how customization will impact but HG did it clever way so we still need to keep looking 😁 they could have just done it like some other games and add a vendor for ship parts to purchase but I am glad they came up with something that makes us need to keep on searching for new ships. I missed this update because after Omega exp. I started playing cyberpunk so its all new to me but I am really happy about this update. This last year they have done so much for this game. Cant wait to see what ppl build with the new parts as well. I hope the multip is better now too, have not tested it myself yet. But yeah thanks for the really good explanation for this.
Thank you! I appreciate that. YES! HG has fundamentally changed the game with updates but dramatically so in the last year! I makes me excited for what the future holds!
Wow Awsome, I was eager to understand the stats part of the ship building. You really are a good popularizer. The next question is : does the race inhabiting the system's space station influence the stats of a particular ship type. Like does a Vykeen system will have more chance to give better Fighter stats, or Korvax system will have more chance to give better stats for Explorer, etc ?
Thank you! And great question. I DID collect more data, such as system tier and race, as well as racial standing, stellar color, etc… All-in-all, there doesn’t appear to be any correlation outside of what I presented in the video - HOWEVER, results were inconclusive. I didn’t want to be so bold as to say “these variables don’t affect stats”, as not to sway others from doing their own research. To be honest - it doesn’t appear to be a factor, but I don’t really know. For example for system tier, we’re used to having an effect on ship class - but we’re manually choosing that stat with the core, so it negates what we would typically expect that metric to affect. With races though - even though I didn’t see data showing one system type favored a certain metric, they are still prime hunting grounds for those ship parts! Great question!
Ha! So if you are really into maxing things for your dream ship it still comes back to trying to find exactly what you want on coordinate exchange, just like before. Just a different dance this time. Kind of ironic. That was a lot of work you did there!
@@GhostLightXE Hunting is fun, but since I’ve been playing on and off since launch I’m now at the point where hunt 100 is a lot less novel than the first few. I’d like for HG to let us customize our ships in fine detail - and what is with all the super limited, puke color palates- but at present the only thing new is the metallic paint job option. However, this was a very clever way to add (kind of) the ship customization that a lot of people want without completely removing ship hunting and the subculture around it from the game either.

I understand that color (but not the likeness) of stencils is tied to the class of the reactor core, so you might prefer putting a C class core and use nanites to upgrade the class of the ship (not sure if that is going to be more expensive, probably yeah taking faction discounts into account)
Nice tip! I didn’t even notice that in all my tests! It costs 8,500 nanitites to go from C to S, so that probably depends on where you start (color of the decal you want) and what your standing is. Maybe though!
None that I have found. There may be some way of predicting results based on the systems seed generation, but that would be a question for a data miner. I haven’t seen anyone talk about this though.
havnt played nms in almost 2 years, already grinded out all the best ships, frigates and carrier; now after all these years they finally add something that the community has been asking for since day one ... wow. Better late then never i guess.
The x-class modules have potential to be the highest buffs in the game… BUT they have the widest range, so they also have the potential for buffs lower than s-class modules.
We should all create a zen desk message to HG asking them to not do ship Building for special ships to keep them special. Just a suggestion: sentinels, exotics, living, and exclusive parts on expedition ships and pre order ships just to keep those as special
I don’t know - if they push out a BUNCH of one off ship (like the Speeder or Starbon runner) and expand ship building to all the “classic” style ships - I’d be ok with that.
My guess is that eventually the pirate station will get an overhaul with a solar ship construction kit
Oooo. THAT would be awesome. Solar ship parts ARE in the game files too!
@@GhostLightXEAWESOMEEE
Would totally make sense that
You might be right. fighters, haulers, explorers for the lawful stations and shuttles, solars, exotics for the lawless stations

Oh, nice tip! I had no idea!
My only question is "Why on earth were Dark Grey and Black omitted from the color options?"
Black has been an issue in game for a while, at least for ship colors. It’s always just deep purple. I dont understand why.
