This is interesting to see. Most Jeep owners are all too ready to throw lifts and big tires on their rigs, but almost no one talks about strengthening the knuckles, lengthening the sway bar links, or any of the other half dozen adaptations Jeep did for this package from the factory. It makes me wonder, at least from an engineering perspective, how much stress people are putting on other parts of their Jeeps without realizing it when they do these big tire and lift kits.

These are the same part numbers as the 392 rubicon which means they are readily available!
seems like there's a lot of parts other than the obvious for xteme package -- does this mean it's difficult to give the 4xe an xtreme recon make over?
It's not too hard, a mopar lift, wheels, tires, regear, and it could be done!
Look its in its natural environment.
Looks really nice. Would sure like to get a diesel extreme recon rubicon wrangler where I live. The company here only brings the gas.
A diesel XR would be awesome!
Why is it when I try to add this Extreme Recon Package to my build it won't allow me to keep the Diesel engine I have selected?
The diesel can't be built with the diesel at this time!
Notice anything different in regards to the supposed reinforced frame?
Nothing stood out to me, i'm sure certain mounts were increased in size!
Is there anything different with the axles them selves other then the gears. Like axles tube size or axle shaft splines?
Axle tubes are thicker, spline is the same!
Can you get Xrecon option on any other rubicon spec that has auto 4wd besides the 392?? Like the 4xe?
Only rubicon, willys, and 392 at the moment
Could you show the 4xe to compare it to the other types of Jeeps
Great idea!
Anyone know if Jeep has plans to bring the Recon package to the Gladiator?
I hope so!
Are the Tires and Rims really on National back order? Is that why it is taking so long to get my Jeep?
I placed mine February 10 when did you order yours if I my ask I can not wait . What color did you Ordered
Ordered mine in October got it 2 weeks ago.
@@MikeL-cb3sr Placed my order 8 March, still in D status as of today
Placed mine February 9th still in D
They are on backorder for us to buy from our parts department, more than likely to keep them for sold orders!
I was thinking of getting the MOPAR 2” lift for my 20 Willys and swapping the tires from the stock 32 to 35s but keeping the MOAB rims, is that Comparable to this set up?
Very comparable, the mopar lift will be taller than the XR package!
I just ordered xtreme. What needs to be done to turn factory beadlock capable wheels to beadlock?
Just order the rings and bolts and dismount the outer bead! Then install the beadlock ring in place!
would you say one should resist the temptation to switch to 37's and stay with the stock 35's?
37's will fit, they will be tight at full flex
Do you know if installing 37s on this would void the warranty?
It shouldn't however it depends if the addition of the tires directly causes an issue
Does the Xtreme Recon Rubicon come with the LED light package and Steel Bumpers as Stock or do you have to add them, I've had two different answers from my local dealers. Thanks
You have to add them, both LED group and Steel bumper group are optional
Can you guys order a right hand drive jeep to spec and ship it out? Don’t know why our dealership in Trinidad can’t get the extreme recon diesel.
We can order them and sell them in the US only.
456…?? Thought 488..?
Or 513.. ? Gear ring was ideal..?? Once again..under geared…
Great video! In your opinion, why do they not offer the extreme recon package with the 3.0 diesel motor?
I'd imagine it has something to do with the suspension, spring rates, shocks, etc.
Has anyone heard if the Wrangler will get the new Hurricane 3.0 engine?
I've heard some rumors, nothing solid yet though!
So the tail lights poke out MORE on the XR package? Same for the LEDs on XR? Is it easy to switch them to the regular tail lights that have less poke?
I haven't pulled them off but i would assume it would be easily swapped!
I have one. You just have to retain the stock mounting bracket from your stock lights. It's held by 4 Phillips bolts. The regular tail lights don't have the holes to mount the extensions even if you wanted to extend them, but you can install them without the extensions.
Copy that, thanks fellas!
