Also, absolutely sharing no details on the actual playerbase. Realizing they aren't going to earn tons of money with a near non-exisiting playerbase. Imagine having 5000 players playing your game, and having to pay a large part of a company a salary, pay for rent and maintenance, servers etc. They either ask 20 dollar skins and 100 euro expansions, or kill this game within 5 years. We are witnessing the end of AAA greed, and I'm all here for it. It's gonna last a few years, but yeah. It is high time it was done. It's killing my interest for my life-long hobby.

This is what happens when the company leaves a small team of junior devs to make content under extreme time limitations so they can still claim this is a live service game. Absolutely zero passion goes into it and it shows.
Marketing doesn't take over game development. What the fuck are you talking about? Marketing is just a department at the company like any other, taking orders from the c-suite, like any other.
Keep in mind, there could only be 20 people MAX on that ladder at the time that Asmon was looking at it. It was 10 people per page, and we don't know if the 2nd page is full or partial. It could be 1 person on the 2nd page for all we know lol

Also he may of been on shortly after patch, and one of the few that finished it. It explains why a level 99 was able to rank so high and only 2 pages. I’m sure the rankings are entirely different if you checked now.
Also each week we get a new map and set of bosses for the gauntlet. It’s just something that’s neat or fun to do but not enough…
No way, the leaderboards aren't populated minutes after the patch that adds a brand new activity for the leaderboards goes live?
How could this happen? Could it be that Raxx downloaded the patch and rushed to the activity immediately which is why the leaderboard was just starting to get some entries?

Right there with you man, shadowlands had me nearly convinced, but 48/50 unranked matches in OW2 sunk the nail in the coffin for me. Played WoW since Wrath. Taught me a valuable lesson to not put my faith in these large companies, or too much love into one particular thing. As the Buddhists say, attachment is suffering.

"If you're just starting out, don't work for the larger companies immediately, and look for the smaller team size companies without mega-corp backing. Work there for a year or two."

Blizzard doesn't deserve to exist anymore.
Both for their product, their decision making, their corporate structure, and their complete inability to avoid the most toxic of clique-formations throughout the chain of command.
I gave up on blizzard when they stopped updating Overwatch for 2 and a half years, took everyones money for Overwatch 2, and then lied about all the content in the game once they had your money and its exactly the same as Overwatch 1
This was like the straw that broke the camels back for me, I was obviously annoyed by a lot of things going on with WoW prior to this.
This more just felt like a complete lie and slap to the face, not to mention a destruction of what was an insanely successful game at the time.
I gave up back in mist of pandaria, bruh its been 12 years since blizzard made anything good, blizzard fans are in love with an husband who doesnt love them any more, cheats on you and beats you every day and you still run to his arms waiting to change

Nothing makes me more mad than knowing that Blizzard will sell an expansion for $100, which will include pay-to-win features in it, and people will still mass purchase it because their rotted FOMO-brains compels them to waste money on such a garbage product and continue to reward the mediocrity and exploitation done by Blizzard. Even worse, depending on when version 1.0 of Path of Exile 2 was originally scheduled to launch, which may be at the end of 2024 if all goes well with the beta, then the launch might actually have to be delayed just to not coincide with the release of D4's expansion because half of the world will be playing it thanks to Blizzard spending more on marketing than actually with the development of the game.
It's a Diablo 3 Challenge Rift but you can use your own build. So yeah, it's the same map layout and monster placement for everyone, until it changes to a new map at some point.

In my honest opinion, Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty was the last genuine Blizzard title. It was just before Activision got majority shareholding and Bobby started making the calls...
I finished Starcraft 2, because it was the story I grew up playing. But the moment I started playing Diablo 3 I started seeing the signs... I had to realize that the Blizzard I knew was gone. It was Activision Blizzard now. I gave up on their games because the quality they were known for was pushed out.
There's a reason that the original team members who started Silicon and Synapse left after Activision got their hands on things...

yeah I tried it too, literally just ran through one shotting everything, the entire gauntlet is just "What is your route, and is it better than other peoples?" that's it. Better route = higher score, there is no challenge.
The same map same enemies thing makes sense. All of the dungeon is static each week, all deterministic. The point is to compare your score against others so randomising it wouldn't make sense.
The map and stuff changes each week, it's not static forever.
It's fine to not care about it, but the idea that it's the same for everyone makes perfect sense.
Completed the campaign of D4 and never played it since. I sincerely regret ever bying it.
The delay was because they had to consult with a physician to make sure everything was right.

I think it being the same map and bosses makes sense, since it's a ladder test. Otherwise you get the D3 scenario where you just keep starting/quitting Grifts until you get the one you want. That being said, they could've done a little more with it.

I was wondering same thing. I quit D4 S3 after LE 1.0 released. I'm horrified to think what i would play if LE didnt release. PoE is not my taste to start now as PoE2 is around the corner anyway.

I always wondered how project titan would have turned out under og blizzard north… the fact they turned it into OW then essentially tried to put in pve which was prob the scrapped titan stuff and then abandoned that is kinda insane.
