    I’ve been watching since before Grayson was born and have always adored your videos. Selling your dad’s bike in order to pursue something you love doesn’t seem like a loss of connection to me. It’s almost as if he would be gifting you the camera and would live on in everything you create with it, rather than through a bike you rarely use. Hope this helps x

    As someone commented earlier, this ‘low effort’ approach is refreshing . Creativity doesn’t seem to flow so well when the effort outweighs the serendipity. ( As a picturebook illustrator I find a similar thing happens when i overdo stuff!)

    Maybe you can make an agreement with the buyer that once a year you can rent it for one day to ride for x amount of dollars??
    That way you can buy your dream camera & still feel connected to your dad in some way.
    So sorry you got hacked Hannah, you’re so lucky you know someone who could help you.
    Sending you guys so much love & positive energy!!💕💕💕

    Stef, sell the bike and every time you use the camera you will also think of your Dad and i am sure your Dad would love you to follow you passion and progress more into it. He would be so proud of you. Dont feel bad, look at it as a new hobby you are sharing with your Dad and because of your Dads help, you can continue with what you are brilliant at doing. Love the new room Hannah!

    Don’t put yourselves down saying you’re Slightly better than the average person. You know perfectly well you’re much more than that.
    Where would we, the Great Unwashed, be if we didn’t have you in our lives to influence us to be better people.
    Forever grateful to have you in our lives.

    another perfect video. exactly what i needed before heading off the work.
    i completely understand wanting to keep your dad's bike, but my gut tells me he would want you to sell if for the camera. Your dad will be with you every time you snap the perfect shot on that Leica, and you can say "great shot dad, thanks"

    I loved the video this week! Such fun and interesting editing - definitely not “low effort”! That’s a tricky one with your Dad’s bike Stef. Your description of how you feel connected was so special. But you’re also right - it’s sitting there gathering dust and rust. Your Dad would be so proud of anything you set your heart to and that bought you joy. You might feel connected to him every day getting to use the camera! Either decision won’t be easy but life is more than the stuff we accumulate. Your Dad’s memory lives on with you!

    Man guys I just love you and your videos so much.
    I personally think that nothing will take your connection to your dad away, you just have to take the time to remember him and give yourself enough space that day to only do that. And no matter where you are, you will feel him.
    Holding onto things for too long, weights is down eventually and there will be someone out there driving it every day! Just my humble opinion.
    Would also be exited to see some more prints n photos.
    All the best to you all

    I’m crazy sentimental and still have things of my grandparents and sister that I will keep for a very long time (aka forever). I understand the association of their stuff with my memories of them. That said, I truly don’t believe the presence or absence of a material thing can maintain or break the connection between two people. Your dad and all your memories of your dad are a part of you. You carry that love and that connection with or without his bike in your back garden or on the road. Personally I think he would be thrilled if his beloved bike enabled you to advance your photography skills/business. What a gift and what a legacy he leaves you when he becomes a new connection and part of your creativity and your everyday! Take loads of pictures of it, make a gallery wall with pictures of your Dad and include shots of his beloved bike. Pay homage, and then move forward with your life. 💗💗💗

    I’m surrogate parent to more people than I should be as it is, but here’s my two cents: there will always be newer, better, shinier, higher tech dream cameras. In fact, you get this camera, and in a few weeks, or few months tops, you will likely set your heart on a newer dream camera. There will only ever be one of your dad’s motorbike. I would sell something else, but you do you. Lovely content as always!

    You don't need a super expensive camera to take great photos. It's not about the camera, it's the person behind it. You already have fantastic cameras that are more than capable of creating the look you want, you just need to know how to do it and change your mindset.

    I lost my Dad at 6 to suicide. I learnt early on to make the right choices and try to plan my life’s path.
    You guys have a wonderful opportunity but don’t rush very significant decisions.
    I’ve watched a few videos, great work but slow down, enjoy the moment and plan the future.
    The kids need their framework, I pray a move will work. I can’t help but think if you can get over the financial issues Wales or Cornwall would suit your lives….

    The yoga room looks so good. My opinion on the bike- I would say sell it. He will always be part of you no matter what you have or don’t. Buying the camera with the bike’s money can be like a gift from him and he can live on through your work and art. When moving to Portugal you will have even less chance to ride it. You can take the camera with you. You can always have someone make a small replica of the bike that you can take with you. It’s a tough one.

  • @AB-hs4cd
    @AB-hs4cd 9 месяцев назад +3

    Can you remove something from the bike that would help you feel connected to your dad before you sell it? You’re not considering selling it for a shallow reason, it’s to invest in your future. He might also prefer that it’s used and enjoyed rather than just sitting rusting? Good luck with your decision x

  • @ChelseaLampinen
    @ChelseaLampinen 9 месяцев назад

    Would you move the bike to Portugal? I would say sell the bike and buy the camera. Your dad was so invested and proud of you and your photography and videography skills, he would def want to see you do more of it even if it meant selling his bike.

    There was something very Tarantino-esque about this video. Not like you were trying to copy someone else's style, but more in the feeling I got from it; the cuts and the camera angles and the almost stoic way of telling rather impactful stories, all with a good dose of humour. All that to say, I really enjoyed this "low effort" video, perhaps as much as the very much not low effort One. Big. Loop. that has stuck with me since I first watched it.

    well however low effort this video was I enjoyed it immensely. Sorry i cant help with the dilemma 50/50 there I'm afraid, but put yourself in the future with your bike and your camera and try to feel what would make you the happiest, then I'm sure your dad would improve. Ultimately don't parents just want their kids to be happy. If Grayson sold the camera in the future to buy something he was passionate about maybe a bike?? ..... circle of life .... x

  • @philippawood5047
    @philippawood5047 9 месяцев назад

    I would say you are not yet ready to sell the bike, yet at least. You already have some fantastic gear and if you really really really want the camera, well, you have put that out to the universe so maybe you are manifesting it. You might come across a second-hand one or a brand wants to gift it to you as part of a job. Lots of possibilities.
    But for now, keep the connection you have with your dad. :)
