But because of that I’ve been feeding a combo of raw and kibble to my ferret that did switch. I didn’t know I couldn’t do both. Thank you so much for this! ❤️
So nice to hear someone be firm with “I can’t suggest anything else other than raw or fresh foods”. That’s exactly how I am. Why have any kind of living creature in your care if you can’t feed it properly or at least be open to making small changes to improve what you already doing. Just because a chihuahua can live 30 years on kibbles n bits doesn’t mean it’s comfortable or thriving!

That’s what imma do! It’s still good for them I’ve searched as long as their getting meats like chicken, beef, lamb, ext twice a day (can be cooked) and there are chew sticks with bones in it to add to the raw diet :)

Hello ferret mummy here. Ferrets should always, always, ALWAYS be adopted in 2s. Only ferrets that are proven to be solitary and the human will have 8-10(at very least)hours of playtime. Also ferrets need other ferrets for many things like grooming and pretty much their entire quality of life. No human can provide what the second ferret does. This is all coming from a place of love. I Just wanted to share with you (life savingly) important info. Also I recommend ton of get any of those small cages sold in the pet store. Double ferret nation is the smallest you should ever have. Watch. All of this lovely woman’s videos. I love how raw, honest, integral, straight forward and I believe her to be 100% truthful. She’s doing so much for the ferret community. She’s the one they will do all the deep and hard hitting research and giving us the notes. She’s weeding out the bad guys here. Showing us which companies to trust. And not to mention that she’s proved herself time and time again through out her videos. Just giving you second opinion on who to trust. And I definitely believe she is the best of the best when it comes to keeping it real and having the ferrets best interest at heart. Many blessings.

Love your content; one nitpick I have is saying propylene glycol is like antifreeze. That claim is like saying margarine is like plastic. Just because the molecular structure is similar doesn't mean the chemical properties are remotely. PG is used in a lot of food and food grade things, it probably isn't healthy for animals but not for the same reason as ethylene glycol. I still agree that it should be avoided, just disagreeing from a chemistry standpoint.

I’m really confused. This video is about ‘how to make Kibble better.’ Please understand that folk who watch videos don’t have a lot of experience already and so jumping into raw feeding is very intimidating and daunting. You’re supposed to help people find safe alternatives if you want to be an advocate for Ferrets
Both of my ferrets refuse raw 😫 I’m struggling to make sure that they stay healthy (not really struggling but very concerned because it stresses me since they refuse raw food, they are BOTH healthy and don’t show any sign of not being healthy.) I am watching this to make sure that even if they continue to not eat raw, I’d have a better idea of what I’m doing. Currently trying to convert them!
It takes anywhere from a week to 8 weeks or even longer for ferrets to start eating all the raw foods. The Holistic Ferret Forum has a detailed section on just this. With my latest two ferrets, both boys, I went by what they say there and also did what Brynn does when switching to raw. Ferrets are extremely stubborn but you have to be more. Don't give up as them being at their healthiest is worth everything.
I wish I would have switched to raw but my ferret has insulinoma and my vet recommended freeze dried raw and wysong as a raw meat diet with her compromised immune system could cause bacteria issues.

My first ferret I got from a woman that wasn't taking care of her or feeding her right and she's 6+ yrs old. They only feed her kibble from Walmart and never any raw meat. The wysong epigen 90 is insane! They advertise that they’re so good for your ferret because of their high protein content and their first ingredient is chicken meal. It’s insane to charge $25-$30for a 5 lb bag of food. For that much money you can feed raw.
I would really like to feed raw but my parents wont let me as the dont want raw meat filling up the freezer. I looked at the Clean Protein kibble but it doesnt ship to the UK but the Ziwi Peak air dried cat food does, ik you wouldnt recommend this as it's still dry food but is it atleast okay? It has kelp in it as well and idk if this is as bad as grains or not?
I have had my ferret for like 4 years, in the begin i fed her raw but she always seemed to eat to little that way. When i took her to her vet they told me she has too weak of a stomach to be able to digest meat properly likely due to what she got fed when she was in shelter (low quality cat food). Ofcourse i still give her fish and egg every so often since she can have that but due to this my ferret vet has prescribed her a type of kibble that is normally used for pre neutered kittens. I would love to feed her raw , but since she gets sick from it i'm stuck on kibble. i'm adopting two boys soon that have been on kibble diet all their life and are rehomed cause of the previous owner not havinbg enough time for them anymore and i will try to get them onto a sort of half kibble half meat diet.
The only reason I can't feed raw is because it does cost to much more than what I can provide for my angels I wish I could raw feed but I thank you for making this video it helps me out so much
I've been turning to your videos before adopting a ferret . They are kibble fed so I've been looking at high quality kibble and slowly moving them to raw diet. I hope they take to raw. I wish we had more local farms I could buy high quality meat.
I want to feed raw. I just don't fully understand how much to feed and what to feed. Ik that chicken wings, chicken and duck necks, eggs, quail, liver, hearts etc.. are good. But I think the problem is I'm scared to not give enough or give to much and not make it a good enough diet. I do know that raw is the best and that's all I want for my ferrets to be, and I too think it's interesting. It's just the prepositions and a proper meal weekly plan that's worries me.
I love your vids and your channel, I’ve been watching all of your videos so I know exactly what to do when I get my ferret. I was originally gonna get my ferret in July but now it might be in august because we are moving. When we move I will also ferret proof while moving. When I get everything settled I will get a ferret nation cage and a play pen for my ferret’s cage at night but during the day my ferret will roam around my room. My ferret will be the only ferret since my dad won’t let me get two. My ferret will have a good life though. I have a amazon list full of stuff for my future ferret. I will also try to find a breeder, if not then I will adopt from a shelter. And that’s just a summary of my plan for when I get my ferret, feel free to leave me tips :D

How do you feel about the wysong feline wet food? I don't mean as the whole diet but I do FDR & kibble atm but since wet food is higher on your list I'm thinking of switching their kibble to that. They get meaty bones multiple times a week so teeth wouldn't be an issue.

Grat video but i have a question, can i let my free roam while am at school if my house is fully ferret proofed. And if i get 1 ferret will it be okay if i get another one a month later. I really need help
Kenan Bergal You can totally let your ferret free roam while your at school, just put away dangerous toys that can be a choking hazard. You will need 2 ferrets are the same time because if you only get one ferret that ferret can become stressed, have separation anxiety, and be depressed. I would say before getting your first ferret just wait the one more month so you can have both ferrets happy and healthy! :)
@@kenanbergal6767 really it should be two or nothing... your mom is inexperienced about ferrets... they are incredibly social animals and need someone of their own species to bond and play with... no matter how much attention you give a ferret it can never match what they get from their own kind. Two ferrets isn't really more work than one ferret and it will go a long way in keeping the ferrets happy and healthy... every day when we see our two ferrets playing with each other we always mention "can you imagine how sad it is that some ferrets never have another ferret to play with? It really should be two or none at all... if your mom insists on the bad advice of only one ferret, than just wait till you're an adult and get two ferrets... I would never wish the sadness of living alone on any ferret. As strongly as this channel recommends a raw diet, I feel just as strongly that ferrets in a home should never be less than two.

Buy another ferret for them! Ferrets need to be in groups so they don’t get depressed and live longer. But it also depends on what you can handle :)

You could try to mix kibble with a tiny bit of raw and maybe something yummy like salmon oil! Just to get them used to it and then switch over

My first ferret I got from a woman that wasn't taking care of her or feeding her right and she's 6+ yrs old. They only feed her kibble from Walmart and never any raw meat. I want to feed her the best for the rest of her life but I've tried every kind of raw meat possible and she will not have any thing to do with it. Do you have any suggestions?

The wysong epigen 90 is insane! They advertise that they’re so good for your ferret because of their high protein content and their first ingredient is chicken meal. It’s insane to charge $25-$30for a 5 lb bag of food. For that much money you can feed raw.
I would really like to feed raw but my parents wont let me as the dont want raw meat filling up the freezer. I looked at the Clean Protein kibble but it doesnt ship to the UK but the Ziwi Peak air dried cat food does, ik you wouldnt recommend this as it's still dry food but is it atleast okay? It has kelp in it as well and idk if this is as bad as grains or not?
Well just try to find the best dry food and add water so they don’t get dehydrated
I have had my ferret for like 4 years, in the begin i fed her raw but she always seemed to eat to little that way. When i took her to her vet they told me she has too weak of a stomach to be able to digest meat properly likely due to what she got fed when she was in shelter (low quality cat food). Ofcourse i still give her fish and egg every so often since she can have that but due to this my ferret vet has prescribed her a type of kibble that is normally used for pre neutered kittens. I would love to feed her raw , but since she gets sick from it i'm stuck on kibble. i'm adopting two boys soon that have been on kibble diet all their life and are rehomed cause of the previous owner not havinbg enough time for them anymore and i will try to get them onto a sort of half kibble half meat diet.
Cooked meat should be easier to digest.
The only reason I can't feed raw is because it does cost to much more than what I can provide for my angels I wish I could raw feed but I thank you for making this video it helps me out so much

I've been turning to your videos before adopting a ferret . They are kibble fed so I've been looking at high quality kibble and slowly moving them to raw diet. I hope they take to raw. I wish we had more local farms I could buy high quality meat.
I want to feed raw. I just don't fully understand how much to feed and what to feed. Ik that chicken wings, chicken and duck necks, eggs, quail, liver, hearts etc.. are good. But I think the problem is I'm scared to not give enough or give to much and not make it a good enough diet. I do know that raw is the best and that's all I want for my ferrets to be, and I too think it's interesting. It's just the prepositions and a proper meal weekly plan that's worries me.

I love your vids and your channel, I’ve been watching all of your videos so I know exactly what to do when I get my ferret. I was originally gonna get my ferret in July but now it might be in august because we are moving. When we move I will also ferret proof while moving. When I get everything settled I will get a ferret nation cage and a play pen for my ferret’s cage at night but during the day my ferret will roam around my room. My ferret will be the only ferret since my dad won’t let me get two. My ferret will have a good life though. I have a amazon list full of stuff for my future ferret. I will also try to find a breeder, if not then I will adopt from a shelter. And that’s just a summary of my plan for when I get my ferret, feel free to leave me tips :D
Im feeding my ferret ziwipeak air dryed food, I saw on the chart you did on your website, that it misses some meaty bones ratio.. Can I feed my ferret some dehydrated bones to compensate this ration ? Many thanks in advance!!
What are your thoughts on feeding ferrets whole prey, such as live or frozen mice.

i want a ferret. which is why i watch her channel. but i don’t feed raw diet for my dogs. i just give them dry food and some times i give them chicken scraps mixed with their food when i’m cooking chicken. i’m i doing thing wrong or right?

How do you feel about the wysong feline wet food? I don't mean as the whole diet but I do FDR & kibble atm but since wet food is higher on your list I'm thinking of switching their kibble to that. They get meaty bones multiple times a week so teeth wouldn't be an issue.

Grat video but i have a question, can i let my free roam while am at school if my house is fully ferret proofed. And if i get 1 ferret will it be okay if i get another one a month later. I really need help
Kenan Bergal You can totally let your ferret free roam while your at school, just put away dangerous toys that can be a choking hazard. You will need 2 ferrets are the same time because if you only get one ferret that ferret can become stressed, have separation anxiety, and be depressed. I would say before getting your first ferret just wait the one more month so you can have both ferrets happy and healthy! :)

Remember they're a huge commitment and very high maintenance. It's not all just play and cuddles
@@kenanbergal6767 really it should be two or nothing... your mom is inexperienced about ferrets... they are incredibly social animals and need someone of their own species to bond and play with... no matter how much attention you give a ferret it can never match what they get from their own kind. Two ferrets isn't really more work than one ferret and it will go a long way in keeping the ferrets happy and healthy... every day when we see our two ferrets playing with each other we always mention "can you imagine how sad it is that some ferrets never have another ferret to play with?
It really should be two or none at all... if your mom insists on the bad advice of only one ferret, than just wait till you're an adult and get two ferrets... I would never wish the sadness of living alone on any ferret. As strongly as this channel recommends a raw diet, I feel just as strongly that ferrets in a home should never be less than two.

I agree kibble can cause cancer and tumers in your animals and ferrets are really sensitive to these conditions
