    I LOVE Colorburst!!!! I was introduced to it at the Rubbernecker booth at the Stamp Show in March in Albuquerque. The technique to stamp flowers with distress ink then use a small brush to add fabulous extra colors with the colorburst powder just bleeds the color into the damp flower petals. Then emboss with metallic embossing powder. Unbelievable!!!!!! I really like this technique you showed today. How fun to get those gorgeous and intense colors.

    Hi Lindsay... I got my Color Bursts too at the rubberstamp Convention in Adventures In Stamping in Akron Ohio in April... I love using them and the way Rubbernecker guy demoed them. I got his video somewhere on my cell... need to upload it here on youtube. Love how you used them here on your video.

    • @thefrugalcrafter
      @thefrugalcrafter  9 лет назад

      Robin LaVonne Moore I came across a video he uploaded so there is one up he did. I hope the conventions keep going! Have you noticed a trend at the convention you go to? Do you still get a good amount of vendors and attendees? It seemed like attendance was up from the last two years here but fewer vendors (I found plenty to buy though!)

    • @RobinLaVonneMoore
      @RobinLaVonneMoore 9 лет назад

      I think the weather has something to do with if there are a ton of people there or not, and I seen tons of people buying goodies each time I've been there. Though there have been times when there isn't a whole lot of buying, I think that is due to the economy from year to year too. There are always tons of vendors there at Adventures In Stamping. You can also go to the website of Adventures In Stamping and find a big list of vendors, if you can't get to the convention, at least you can visit your favorite vendor online and buy. :) For 32 yrs I"ve been going and also taking classes, I have yet come away from any one year disappointed Lindsay. :)

    Lindsay first thank you for all you reviews and tutorials. I love these color burst techniques. Maybe I'm crazy for asking but the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it was kool-aid. You know we all have accidentally spilled kool-aid and this look is exactly what you get when you try to wipe it up with damp paper towel. Soooo that said would Kool- aid work or is there a special binder in the color burst powders? Just thinking a grape Kool-aid card would look and SMELL great. Would love to see a test video.

    • @thefrugalcrafter
      @thefrugalcrafter  9 лет назад

      Carolyn Reed someone else mentioned that and they said it worked! Be aware that KoolAid has citric acid in it and will damage scrapbook pages eventually so only use it for crafts that do not need to last forever:)

    • @FranOnTheEdge
      @FranOnTheEdge 9 лет назад

      thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Oh that's good to know, thanks Lindsay. I was thinking then that I'd probably get the UK ones (easier to obtain for me) and maybe look around for some bottles like the color bursts use (so that I don't have to puncture the original containers, and can "Puff" the colour if I want to) - if I only knew what to search for, would you say they are "puffer bottles"? Or what?

    • @thefrugalcrafter
      @thefrugalcrafter  9 лет назад

      Fran OnTheEdge i'M NOT SURE, SHAKING THEM WORKS FINE TOO:)

    • @FranOnTheEdge
      @FranOnTheEdge 9 лет назад

      thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Yes it might work okay, but I was thinking that once you've damaged the lid like that you can't seal the paint powder away safely and if you have a very humid atmosphere, you might end up with clumps of crystals and the hole might then clog up, it just seemed rather a drastic thing to do to me. Plus you can't shake the Brusho crystals at an angle like you demonstrated with the Color Bursts in their puffer bottles. And I wanted to try that - but Brusho's come in more colours!
