Can’t help but wonder - living in North Cornwall, we have thousands of visitors who allow their dogs to chase and hunt all manner of wildlife throughout the year without a peep from anyone? Nesting birds destroyed, deer savaged, livestock driven over cliffs et al? Why one rule for one and another for tourism …

Meet these fox hunters a few time within forest parks on mountain bike trails which not only dangerous but completely reckless. In 2005 Quad bikes had entered the forest paths illegally ( new Christmas present then rallied up and down the service gravel road. The Fox hunters had done the same from the opposite side of a 4000 acre forest. I came upon the carnage along with 2 fellow life boat crew cycle buddies. The large quads ploughed into the horse riders on a blind bend missing the front riders but slamming into the rear hunters. 2 -3 serious falls 1 horse was put down at the scene by vets and police. We lost our permit cycle in the forest after this event all recreation was band in NI until 2012. I recall we give first responder treatment to the quad riders, and horse riders stay and coronated the Ambulances into the center of the forest. ( we had keys to open forest road gates upon us). NO one either side ever thanked us either, complete narcissist.
are we still trying to complain about hunts? genuinely the most ridiculous thing ever. i wont dispute the fact the foxes are still being killed, but definitely not by the hunt. hunts are put on purely for the tradition and enjoyment of those involved. before the hunt starts there's one or two runners who go out on the trail with rags and scents and leave a route for the dogs to follow. i understand the argument of the fact that the hounds could still find a fox, but that is highly highly unlikely as the dogs are highly trained and will stick to a pack and the hunt master, so even if a few inexperienced dogs were to find something they are unlikely to leave the pack, the scent is strong and follows a specific trail whereas the scent from a real fox is sporadic and hard to follow, which is why traditional fox hunts would last from early morning to late night, nowadays its usually around 3, i would say maximum 4 hours. I truly hate the idea of foxes being harmed by the hunt, however I research and have experienced the extreme measures taken since the ban to avoid foxes or any other wildlife for that matter being harmed. the hunt are also now banned from wildlife areas such as those owned by national trust, which are the areas animals are most common in as they create ideal habitats for them, and the hunt requires permission for any land they go on which are inspected for the safety of the hunt and wildlife involved, as I understand that some people don't know that foxes aren't everywhere, but if you have less knowledge of the countryside is completely fair and understandable. the main reason some hunts go into towns are for the people to see and enjoy the beauty of the horses, riders, and dogs working in unison. I completely understand why hunt saboteurs protest, you stand up for what you think is right and that deserves respect, however, truth be told, I've never witnessed or heard of saboteurs protesting when government takes country land to build houses and shopping centres. they also lose my respect when they shout and cause fights at meets they instantly lose my respect as they are not only putting the horses, dogs, riders at risk but themselves as well. protests should be safe for everyone, believe it or not sometimes things are resolved better when things aren't aggravated, people are less considerate and more defensive when you come at them attacking. i would like to see a saboteurs opinion of what will happen to the hounds if hunting was banned, as there is a very very low chance of the dogs becoming pets, for starters you would have to separate them from the pack, which i guarantee would wreak absolute havoc, not to mention they are just not suitable pets, they are lovely dogs when they are able to be a group, and they are highly trained to do one thing only, follow the hunt, you cant just take them out of that lifestyle and expect to be able to train them to live in your house and be a sweet lapdog. I've also seen a post by a sab on Instagram i think, were they suggested just let the adult trained hounds out to be strays, obviously not impossible because there are stray dogs but that would be extremely counterproductive as they would stick to their pack and procreate, making it easier for them to hunt and quickly outnumber the foxes. i wouldn't disagree with the fact you may be able to train a hound pup to be a pet, but they are very energetic and need to socialise, so 2 or 3 would take a lot of effort to handle and would lead to owners needing a licence to own them, like what happened with pit bulls i believe, and this would probably lead to extreme prejudice toward the innocent hounds, possibly even causing them to be 'humanely culled', which is just as if not more cruel than foxes being naturally hunted. at the end of the day everyone has their own opinions of what's right and wrong, and that's never going to change, however it is important that we learn about other peoples beliefs and values to be able to fully value your own beliefs and opinions.
Sheffield Hunt sabs are not nice people. They masquerade as animal lovers while the truth is they are far from it. What you don’t see in those ‘hit’ reports that they so conveniently EDIT together is the constant harassment of the Hunt staff and the riders throughout the day, they trespass across private fields & land in a bid to get their footage, upsetting land owners (I’m sure you wouldn’t appreciate a load of masked people with cameras traipsing through your garden) and film children & the rest of us just trying to have a nice day with our horses. They purposely walk in front of the horses & along side them in a bid to make it look like you are riding in to them (I have experienced this myself). It’s intimidating and quite scary at times. And if you dare to speak up, they film it & plaster it everywhere to make it look like they are being ‘attacked’. They play recordings of the hunt horn to upset the Hounds & call them away from the pack - they led a much loved, hand reared Hound on to a road & got it killed recently. They then make out it’s the Hunts fault and again post it all over social media. They sit outside members of the Hunts family homes by the car full in masks in a bid to intimidate & upset them & again will them film any reaction the get (which as you can imagine would not be positive). It’s all very clever editing & usually ends in a plea for some money to ‘fund’ all of their ‘excellent hard work’. There are two sides to every story - this video is a load of rubbish
Good evening dave, this is when I found your channel, a few years ago, I don't agree with fox hunting or any hunting for sport, however I would say most of them turn up for the ride not knowing the big picture, much like motorcycle riders turn up to a patch event
When I was a hunt saboteur, we used to bunk in to the county fairs dressed in wax jackets, flat caps, courdroys, all the gear. When they let people pet the hounds, we would find out the hounds' names (as much as we could) When the season started again, it was handy when you wanted to call them off a scent by calling their names. BTW, NEVER call them "dogs", it's always "hounds" :)
It's a shame they don't respect drag hunting it is only done correctly by about 10 percent of those who organised .I can see why a lot of people get aggrieved

@DonkeyDave269 this comment shows how ignorant you are of the people who hunt.
Good question David 🦊
I counted 86 counting the ponies... We had over 140 in the village in the summer, but that's a common riding, not a cruel hunt.

Hi Simmo, it’s a big event in the toffs social calendar brother 😉🦊
They wouldn’t thank you Marvin, they think they are better than you 😬
are we still trying to complain about hunts? genuinely the most ridiculous thing ever. i wont dispute the fact the foxes are still being killed, but definitely not by the hunt. hunts are put on purely for the tradition and enjoyment of those involved. before the hunt starts there's one or two runners who go out on the trail with rags and scents and leave a route for the dogs to follow. i understand the argument of the fact that the hounds could still find a fox, but that is highly highly unlikely as the dogs are highly trained and will stick to a pack and the hunt master, so even if a few inexperienced dogs were to find something they are unlikely to leave the pack, the scent is strong and follows a specific trail whereas the scent from a real fox is sporadic and hard to follow, which is why traditional fox hunts would last from early morning to late night, nowadays its usually around 3, i would say maximum 4 hours.
@delilahlevy7273 and then you woke up 😉
@ don't worry i haven't slept yet xx
That is exactly what they would like you to think Karl 🦊
When I was a hunt saboteur, we used to bunk in to the county fairs dressed in wax jackets, flat caps, courdroys, all the gear. When they let people pet the hounds, we would find out the hounds' names (as much as we could)
When the season started again, it was handy when you wanted to call them off a scent by calling their names.
BTW, NEVER call them "dogs", it's always "hounds" :)

@DonkeyDave269 come on Dave of course it is, if it were still legal there would be no difference between a lad chasing a hare with a lurcher, or walking up rabbits with his .410. Their both fieldsports and the end result is killing an animal. Nobody screams and waves banners at the latter. Its nothing to do with the animals its purely about incorrect class hatred. You yourself have said "these are all Tories" what does that have to do with it?
@DonkeyDave269 this comment shows how ignorant you are of the people who hunt. The majority of people who hunt have working and "new' middle class backgrounds, but they all work hard and save to enable them to ride and go trail hunting, you're railing against the very same people as your background. I know a hairdresser who trail hunts, her dad was a bricky and grandfather was a miner! She's not the exception, open you mind but your deep seated prejudice aside and maybe try talking to them?
