Replace the Vaseline, with Vicks vapor rub. Useful for keeping insects at bay, rubbing on aching muscles, fire starting etc.
If you want a bushcraft version of an insect repellent then split a reasonable width branch into 4 at the end but ensure the stick is still together. Get yourself some coal fungus which you can usually find on dead ash trees. Break it in half and drive sparks into it with a fire steel so you get an ember. Put it into the split of the stick and wedge it into the floor in your camp. Put a chunk of moss on top of it so it smokes.
@@davidchester429 lol. I get it
Thanks Sootch! God bless brother.
Your Bob has 1 million dollars, a back up cell phone, a 380, stormy Daniels phone number, and a box of rubbers.. Go Trump.😜👍
Have built a few EDC & B O B bags based on your videos.
Had to tell the kidlett she cannot carry a fixed blade molle'd to her EDC just yet. School rules and all.
Hell, she wants a drop down leg holster for her little 380 now too. AND she wants me to go out and get her the Hi Point 380 Carbine, in Muddy Girl pink. She got to fire one at our local range a few weeks ago. She's hooked like a bass on a shiner now.
Keep up the good work.
That's awesome. My girlfriend is a super princess but a decent shot. She'll never be able to bug out tho, bugs and the inconveniences of not having a nail spa.... 🧐
Maybe include an sol 2 person heat sheet or a heat reflective bivy in your first aid then you would have minimal shelter also. Really great vid thanks everything is spot on.
Good base, and all things that deserve redundancy in a complete kit. I edc 4/5....Swiss Army Classic, UST Spark-Wheel, Pulsar II microlight, one of those little aluminum tube thingies with floss, needle & thread, and a piece of Cover-Roll-Stretch which is good as a bandaid or tape or moleskin. Also added a compass as I have no natural sense of direction. Thx Sootch!
I agree with your 5 items . Thank you for posting this. I have the S.O.G Powerlock and I really like it. Very easy for an older person to use as you don’t have to muscle it open like some of the other ones. As I am older and my strength is wanting, it is easy for me to use and not really a heavy tool.
good stuff! Wallet, keys, phone. Knife, multitool, lighter, flashlight, gun, extra mag, med kit. Pen, hanky, water bottle.
Just looked into the Amp-3 Outfitter. Nice complete comprehensive family medical, trauma, dental, first aid, blister kit. Thx Sootch
Good comments below. Absolutely the SOL 2 person heat sheet and thin nylon line; three contractor bags; 1 mil plastic drop cloth. Sawyer mini and 2 two liter collapsible pouches; one liter pot or two GI cups and fork & spoon; Jar peanut butter; cold and hot wets. Fav hard candy. Wipes. .. Tyvek rain suit. Dry warm socks. Sweater or jacket with cap
I passed that test with flying colors... You forgot food. I carry a 30 day supply in my truck at all times, have to remember food. Great vid. Yeah... I finally got an A+.. woo hoo.
I love the bloopers at the end! maybe you can do the best of once a month. great info...thanks
Great advice. I'll be putting together a bag VERY soon.
Sootch I love your videos! Keep up the good work on all platforms. Also, could you do a new video an updated vehicle EDC plus what you would recommend for a "truck gun". I am Deputy in GA and a long time subscriber. Your of my favorites along with Nutnfancy. Your reviews motivates me to buy certain products i.e Olight PL-2 Valkyrie. I use it as my duty weapon light. I love it. Thank you for all you do.

I gotta know what happened during the medical bag blooper. It sounded like you tackled your microphone!!! LOL!!! I hope you didn’t get hurt or break a hip or something. LOL!!! Thanks for sharing brother.
Thanks!
Instead of wrapping your knife sheath or firesteel with paracord, wrap it with jute twine, a great tinder once fluffed up with the edge of your knife
used both on my machete and a fixed blade 😁👌
Sorry but you are crazy :) I mean you are awesome good. you are live encyclopedia for bag-out situation . great.
Love your channel love it almost as much as I love your gun Channel or really maybe more I don't know but keep up the good work thanks for taking the time. Please would you put the links to where we can buy the things and Equipment you suggest.
I love this video!
I don't recall seeing shelter. Rule of 3's says 3 hours without shelter.
That's in his top 10. Heavy duty trash bags (tarp).
What brand is the camo pack?
Long Live The Republic!
Awesome video

Kevin Daughtridge ... You can get that at Bass Pro Shop I believe or any retailer that carries SOG. It is the Powerlock and I have one they are great . Smooth, easy open and the tools are good also.

Tap the zt spine on a roll pf tape i, know i have a 0393 brome my heart
Sawyer mini is far superior to the life straws katadyn etc shown here, it filters 100,000 gallons and to a higher standard of filtration.
Let's say you catch a chicken. How are you going to eat it? That was my challenge recently, so now I have enough spices in there to spice whatever I catch.
