    this isn't a review though... It's a promotional video. Anker clearly told him what to say in the video most of the footage and information is provided by Anker.

    I am loving my 33L, so far. I have only had it going on three weeks now, but it has been a game changer. It fits beautifully in my Bronco, and has worked well for day trips, and overnight camping so far. Next test will be a four day camp trip later this month, but I have no doubts that it will perform as designed. I am glad that I waited for the release of this one as it will fit my need and desires perfectly.

      That's great to hear. I have the 33L and the 43L version. The 33L is used for road trips, grocery shopping in Texas heat and around home. I use the 43L as a deep freezer for meat, fish and ice cream. I'm really happy with the EverFrost.
      I've driven about 5000 miles with the 33L strapped into the back seat of the truck with all of the bumps and vibration. No problems yet and it's worked flawlessly. I drive for the day, then park for the night, it uses about 30-60% of the battery over night depending on how long I'm parked, and then it recharges the next day while I drive. Pretty slick!

    Anker says the 42 hours is at 77 degrees ambient temperature. I’d like a test at 95 degrees(F) I’m usually camping in the summer, so it’s rarely ever just 77 degrees out. Have you run any tests in hot weather with this?

    I work at ups. Would this work in a rural route where there is a lot of dust? My truck bounces all over the area. And would it still function well in a hot area? Our cargo area gets as high as 120 degrees

    • @Stonyboot
      @Stonyboot  Год назад +3

      I did some testing in my truck on hot days, the cooler stayed at the set point even when the truck was really hot inside. I would imagine they list the operating requirements in the manual, but I don't remember off the top of my head.
      Another factor to consider is storing the battery in these temperatures. You might want to contact them about the official temperature ranges that it's rated for.

    Great review Scott! I too am interested in the longevity of the hinge, case, wheels, and mostly the compressor. This one has many nice features and I have had good luck with other Anker products.
    I was taught that you should not really move a compressor fridge around much so I wonder how the bouncing around on the wheels will affect it. I did buy a different brand 40 quart 120 Vac / 12Vdc compressor fridge for the back seat of my truck (I transport RVs) and so far it has held up great (one year in). I rarely move it around and I do leave it plugged in all the time.
    You can change the fuse position for the rear seat power outlet so it is hot all the time (which is what I did) and just plug the fridge into that but I like the idea that you are keeping both the battery bank and the fridge charged in your setup. My fridge draws 4 Watts when idle and 40 Watts when the compressor is running so I have never had any issues with it draining the Ram 2500 dual batteries even over long weekends not driven.

    Add a solar panel for when the truck is not running and you get more time. Unplug from truck and add solar.

    What about towing through sand. Would that get onto the compressor?

    • @Stonyboot
      @Stonyboot  4 месяца назад +1

      I’ve done quite a bit of that, and it hasn’t seem to be a problem yet. A little bit of dust and debris doesn’t seem to hurt it at all.

    Hi, can i run the fridge without the battery? i wonder why there is a additional socket under the battery plugs between the wheels.

    • @Stonyboot
      @Stonyboot  Год назад

      You can! Just plug it in using the socket in the bottom and it will run without the battery.
      I'm using one of mine as a deep freezer for food and keep the battery installed incase of a power outage, its been working well for a couple of months.

    Can you leave it outside in the rain overnight?

    • @Stonyboot
      @Stonyboot  Год назад

      I don’t think that would be a good idea. The manual does say to not leave it in the rain. Also, the can see the control panel getting wet, along with the battery compartment.
      It would be nice if it was weather proof.

  • @glennsveum1429

    Just curious as to how long it will run at 95 F?

    • @Stonyboot
      @Stonyboot  Год назад +2

      I don’t have exact measurements, but I’d say in the 30-35 hour range. I used it in my truck a few weeks ago when the outside temps were in the upper 80s and the truck was 90-100 and it held temperature fine. I didn’t calculate the percent/hour but it did great.
      Overall, I’m impressed with the cooler. We rolled it from the truck to our AirBnb and plugged it in. Then did the same thing on our way home.
