For the money, I'd sooner get the $650 40gal unit. Yeah, you lose 20% of the volume but save space and increase runtime - I'm looking at this from a post-storm perspective, YMMV
new sub... show is awesome... i got this free with a f2000 generator + eb2000 battery add on + 400W solar panel, package deal...split well basket with single zone on the 40L sold me. as well as the cost for a spare 300Wh is cheap enough to add on, and battery is stand alone w/handle. so keeping a cpl batteries that can always power the cooler yet be used anywhere a usbc or usba is needed is top dog
The Anker Everfrost 50 is by far the best deal . Quite a bit more capacity and comes with the battery and wheels . I just came from delta . Smaller capacity and the wheels and battery are extra . Best is 2 of the Anker everfrost 30 when on sale for $499 , set one up as freezer and one as a fridge
I see an original Wave on the shelf! The wave 2 is crap, though. My one doesn't have heating mode (I call it a "wave 1.5", because it only does cold!) and took some jiggery-pokery to set it up in my tiny Japanese apartment. It DOES cool the main room (which is probably much bigger than the spaces it's meant for cooling), slowly, on all but the hottest days, though, but it takes a hell of a long time to do it in summer, whereas the installed mini-split cools the main room almost instantly (this with the sun blasting down on a flat roof and extreme humidity, mind you). The Wave 2 uses much less power, even on AC, and I can turn it on remotely as I leave work, though, which is pretty cool. You have to dig online (buried under page after page of websites that got given a free one to give it an "impartial" review, wink wink), but I've heard of people who know about air conditioners who have taken them apart and seen they're pretty much junk, really badly made and prone to fail. I'm just waiting for mine to jam it's fan or vent it's coolant. I'm honestly not expecting it to make it through the next summer. All of which is a bit strange, since DC-powered air conditioners that can work for decades, standing up to all sorts of vibration, jolting and extremes of temperature have been around for a very long time... in cars! Can't somebody just put one of them in a portable box and give it a "reverse gear" for heating?
While i have no doubt that the Anker is better, chucking the bag of ice into the coleman with a much larger interior volume compared to the smaller compartment of the Anker cooler really isn't a fair comparison. Not hating here, to be fair I'm not sure how i would more accurately test this... I guess calculate the ratio of ice to volume and make it the same in both samples? Didn't exactly hit the same for the purpose of your review though. I'm a fan of Anker and have a good handful of their products so I'm not trying to disparage this cooler.
Sounds great but why so dark? Good luck getting that thing cold on the beach in Florida. You would be able to cook eggs on that lid. Coolers should at least have a white lid option.

In the ice test the cooler was off completely. The ice test was to test how it would perform as a traditional non powered cooler and it did perform much better as it is much better insulated.

so 55 watts? i thought they say its got a compressor? even an inverter compressor would pull more than that.... Sounds more like they are using peltier plates for cooling, then that wattage would line up.
Most 12 volt fridges run between 45 and 65 watts. I have cheap ones that run like that in max mode and run 35 watts in eco mode. Your start up is probably closer to 100 watts but that is at start up only.
This is just more proof I'm living in a dream.......... And I'm not one of The NPCs seriously anker A company that makes batteries decides to get into The cooler game this is like something straight out of elder scrolls 😅
After 17 hours the Coleman $10 cooler did great since it costs less than you buying your grown-up's Happy Meal at McDonald's. Meanwhile, the $1000 60 pound (empty) cooler had water in it from the ice melting by over 50%. You inadvertently showed the world how awesome the lightweight $10 Coleman cooler is since one could purchase close to 100 Coleman coolers for the same amount of money, or simply buy one Coleman cooler and then buy 10 pound bags of ice that cost $1 to the tune of over 900 bags of said ice. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Their products are hit and miss depending on the product I have bought speakers that have failed and ones that have are winners like the motion boom their headphones are killer as well.
Yeah I would not take something that expensive that has electronics that are probably not water proof and fans in a very open grill right at the bottom next to the wheels where all kinds of dirt or wet sand is going to get in and possibly destroy this product almost immediately if it’s ever used at a beach like he mentioned and where a lot if not most coolers are used here on the coast. And if it can be set down to even -4° then why did the ice melt at all?!? A better comparison would not be the cheapest possible $10 cooler but an actually well insulated one like a yeti or knock off brand that could be had for a third or less of the cost and keep that bag of ice from melting like that for days and would never have electronics destroyed by a beach.
It's modern marketing. Today you got to completely trash talk the prior generation tech just to make the stuff you're selling even look good. I hope Anker is into this type of marketing. 😢
There was a guy on here that reviewed the 50l anker cooler and he pulled it through sand and it broke his machine. So yea your right don't pull it through sand

If you have to choose between Anker Everfrost 50 and Ecoflow Glacier, which one would you go with?
ecoflow glacier is a fridge, which i would make a freezer with ice making capability and use the wheeled battery cooler as a cooler

This needs 140w type c input along with standard type inputs so you can charge it via usb not a proprietary charger
