As genius a comedian Craig is, Josh Thompson is equally a genius improv creator as well as being able to mechanically control Geoff/Sandra, switch voices, and come up with bits all at the same time.
He’s a miserable sob….it’s what helps make him amazing. Remember how Scorsese never needed that Oscar? JRT doesn’t need the milquetoast mainstream success. We all know he’s a force of nature.

Because the powers of the time didn't like or expect that any of the talent involved made it and could smash it without even trying, on their own merit, rather than based on who they know or the pompous crap they pedal regarding eachother "in the know" . If they let these two through, they would have to start hiring based on talent? Can't have that can they? Then how would they shoehorn 💩 into the timeslots?
"I am exhausted. I've just had a Frisbee in the barn door..." 🤣 I really liked that one, but let's face it, these guys were a FANTASTIC duo. I hope JRT got paid what he was worth. That guy made like half of the entire show funny.

Unless someone comes along to top this act, Craig Ferguson will forever be the undisputed, unrivalled king of all 'late shows'.
@@mikewilliams8951 I've watched all the late shows and NONE of them have ever come close to Craig's style of madcap craziness and interviewing technique while deconstructing the late show format. He was a stand alone maverick in late shows and genuinely loved by many many people.
I miss this show sooooo much. Nothing but madcap lunatic chaos and barely a moment of it is wasted. They would work a general idea for what the wanted the show to be and then just riff and when you have such gifted comedians as Craig and Josh it is always hilarious. And I am still waiting for the spinoff from this show, GP and the Fergs. I will watch the crap outta that show!
Since covid hit, I have watched countless hours of this show, mostly in the GP era, and this was a lot of fresh, hilarious stuff I will watch many times over.
You can really tell how much celebrities really have fun on this show 😂 No theatrics or script or any expectations. Just having weird and random fun with the two weirdest people on Late Night ❤️

@@CaptainAMAZINGGG He never did a ton in Britain, Confidence on Red Dwarf was his first credit I think then he did a few bit parts and ended up on the Drew Carry Show in the States, not sure if that one was as widely exported as stuff like Friends was. The Brits have their own talk shows so this was not exported either, clips maybe but I'm not surprised people are still just finding him now.
Craig Ferguson and Conan O'Brien are my two favorite late night talk show hosts. It didn't matter how bad my day was because late at night it got better.

@@parma-sean I couldn’t be more excited to hear that :) I watched TLL show for the entire duration on CBS yet I never thought to dvr it or archive it sadly (well not entire true I had a ton of vhs tapes from the early years of the show as it was the only simple option; and then came a basement flood) For years I’ve been dreaming of an entire commercial Box Set being released which would never happen (yes I even emailed CBS a few times, I’m that insane fan) or better digital but it’s pipe dreams. Too bad, it’s doable clearly...I’m thinking of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, which I’ve had for years, the entire BBC run, and extra material. Sorry for such a long comment yet again. Really appreciate your work!!
