The Tony Martin era is soooo underrated. I would put Headless Cross and Tyr as some of the best Sabbath albums.
Here In Brazil Born Again Is as loved (If not more) as the other ones with Ozzy. It happens that just as KISS Creatures Of The Night, this album came out around the time when the dictatorship was coming to an end here...so people started having the access to these albums, making them some fan favorites beyond others.
A masterpiece.
Absolutely.
Saw Sabbath on the Born Again tour....
New Haven CT.
Ian gillian singing,
Geezers bass was so loud it shook the building.
One of my favorite concerts. 👍
Children of the Grave is my favorite track as well. Great music like this is truly the wealth of mankind.
Favorite of all Sabbath for me, is The Eternal Idol. Though I love every Sabbath album, to be honest.
The Eternal Idol is fantastic! The Shining is worth the price of the album alone.
love falling of the edge of the world song. born again is awesome. first black sabbath is awesome too.
Heven and Hell is a ten to me too! Mob Rules as well! These were my intro to Black Sabbath as I was a kid then. Dont worry Ralph, Eternal Idols is special to me too cause i first heard it when I was picking up trash on the freeway as punishment for my first & only DUI! Great Album though, made the day go by fast. Scab Cat Man played on Iternal Idols!
Crazy, I've finally given Born Again another chance..., and I LOVE IT! Btw, 13 I agree, blah.
You can't call it the original band without Bill Ward, no matter what Sharon Osbourne says. Sabbath is not Ozzy's alternate backing band. That's bullsh*t. If any one person is Black Sabvath, it's Tony Iommi as he kept the brand going. To my ears, it's Tony's signature riffs that made BS the great band it was.
I've always had Master of Reality at the top of my list, and I've been a Sabbath fan since the early '70s.
I also think that Technical Ecstasy needs to be remastered. There is just something off in the original mix.
1. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (my favorite album of all time)
2. Master of Reality
3. Vol 4
4. Sabotage (could be 5)
5. Heaven and Hell (could be 4 any day)
6. Paranoid
7. Black Sabbath
8. Mob Rules
9. The Eternal Idol
10. Born Again
I had this list in the back of my head already. There's a fine line though. Could change in the future.
Awesome
My personal ranking:
Last - Forbidden (this was a joke)
18th - Never Say Die (the band were running on vapor, and while jazz is cool, there's no place for it on a Black Sabbath album)
Not concrete - Black Sabbath, Sabotage, Technical Ecstasy, Born Again, Seventh Star, Enternal Idol, Headless Cross, Tyr, Dehumanizer, Cross Purposes, 13
Best six - Paranoid, Master Of Reality, Vol. 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Heaven And Hell, Mob Rules
Pretty darn good ranking. But I made their debut my favourite, but I feel the first three are essential. Rodger Bain gave those albums are real doomy feel.
1. Mob Rules
2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
3. Heaven and Hell
4. Sabotage
5. Paranoid
6. Master of Reality
7. Dehumanizer
8. Volume 4
9. Born Again
10. Black Sabbath
11. Headless Cross
12. Tyr
13. The Devil You Know
14. The Eternal Idol
15. Cross Purposes
16. Seventh Star
17. Never Say Die
18. 13
19. Technical Ecstacy
20. Forbidden
Yes more Sabbath videos please! I fully agree with you on 13. It sucks. I listened to it when it came out and never listened to it again. Forgettable Rick Rubin dropped the ball on that one major.
New Sabbath video every Sunday
13 in my opinion wasn't that bad, BUT it was a money making brainchild from Sharon Osbourne, and neither Ozzy nor Tony Iommi were really into it. Tony looked a lot happier with Dio on The Devil You Know tour. Interrestingly enough, none of the tracks from 13 made it on The End final tour.
Ralph
..More rough stuff ❤️
4:57 I heard the track Never Say Die on the radio in a bar a couple of weeks ago

Master is my #1 otherwise total agreement
Hey Dr FUKK what's the name of your band so I can check it out
this is our youtube page ruclips.net/user/thrashordietv
Day late (and always a dollar short) but I largely agree with your rankings. As a DIOtard Dehumanizer is my least favorite of any Dio work. I would put Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell a bit higher maybe but like I said, DIOtard. Long Live Rock and Roll. 🤘🏻
SABBATH!!!!!
Volume 4 guitar tone wise is the heaviest Ozzy Era album by far. Under the Sun might very well be the heaviest Sabbath song ever!!
19 - 13
18 - Forbidden
17 - Seventh Star
16 - Cross Purposes
15 - Tyr
14 - Never Say Die
13 - Technical Ecstasy
12 - Headless Cross
11 - Eternal Idol
10 - Born Again
9 - Mob Rules
8 - Dehumanizer
7 - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
6 - Master of Reality
5 - Sabotage
4 - Black Sabbath
3 - Vol 4
2 - Heaven and Hell
1 - Paranoid
I think taking everything as a whole, Master of Reality was their best. It introduced the doom in metal and the riffs, man the riffs. My second favorite album is......yes, Never Say Die! This album is rough and loud. Bill is pounding on those skins. This album came out after Led Zep's Presence & Thin Lizzy's Johnny the Fox album. All three hard rockers, not metal. I think if Sabbath could've stayed together, who knows what the might've put out. Of course we wouldn't of had RJD's Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules, so all is good.
NEVER SAY DIE RULES!
@@almosthuman56 Yes, I love Never Say Die! I remember I was 15 when I heard Johnny Blade. Freakin bad ass!

19. Seventh Star
20. Forbidden
Eternal Idol is a solid record. The production isn't great though. Born again is excellent as well. Fuck the Haters!!
My least favourite: Forbidden. My all time favourite: The debut, Black Sabbath. The first three are essential, followed by Sabotage, Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules, The Eternal Idol, Born Again, Headless Cross. Gets confusing from there. But, I don't hate any of them, really.
19/ Forbidden
18/ Seventh Star
17/ Never Say Die

3/ Vol 4
2/ Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
1/ Master of Reality
Great list I agree with your selection except I would swap 7 Star for born again!
@@toms4442 I personally never could get into 7 Star. Doesn't sound like Sabbath that much in sound or attitude. Its more 80's hair metal than its Sabbath. I can understand why a lot of fans don't like Born Again but I've grown up around the album my whole life. Its ingrained in my conscience. I love it
Keep it warm, rat.
