  • Although there are plenty of ways to finishing corner beads, this is how I get it done! For this situation we had to get multiple coats same day and sand/prime the next day, so we were using 45 minute fast setting joint compound aka hot mud and mesh tape. Drywall prep included V gouging joints and pre filling to prevent cracks and putting mesh tape on corner beads to reinforce a little further after using screws to fasten them. We typically do 2 coats fast setting compounds back to back as soon as they set and a final skim coat with premixed joint compound for sandability. If you have any questions or suggestions on how to make my channel a little better, please let me know!
My goal for this channel is to use my vast experience as tradie (drywall & painting) to help DIY and newbies getting started showing easier methods to work, tools and how to get things done with longevity in mind 🦾

Was torn between leaving video as is and maybe people would think it’s boring or put some music in there and make it a little more exiting 😢 thank you for your input may do real subtle music in background next time

Been a builder for long time…..never trust a guy who says something like that or “I can do it all, framing, Sheetrock, roofing” nice bruh, why don’t you have a job then? Haha! Nah I just wanted say there’s only a few trades (mud/tapers, stucco guys, pro mf fessionsals, like yourself) cause there’s always carpenters like me who think they are decent, better than most at finishing concrete, I can do stamped, joints, blah blah, I got called to a job to do the set up for a new auto shop, I volunteered to help these so called “union finishers” thinking I was gonna met some patch guys. Nope, I quickly found my lane, by going to get lunch for everyone, after that I always make sure they have a cold beer, and all the tools are washed, they never have to strip or set up and get cash money every side job we do, quite a few a year! Every time I’m equally as impressed, so the lesson to this rant? Y’all diyers are such dumb masses! because you “diy” and saved the cost of labor, done by a pro who’s names on the work/insurance too, you make a video bragging you saved $5k only a weekend job turned into 3 months, you’ll never admit it looks like sh*t and your YT diy channel is putting another unwarranted BS lie on us hard working professionals, anyone can do it! Yep! The Dumbest masses strike again! Cheers bruh, hope you get a laugh and understand my sarcasm! You kill it!

Oh man! I would lie to you if I said read the whole thing but my brain with attention span of a squirrel just skimmed through the whole book you wrote. But yeah I understand what your rant is about and I feel the same way sometimes, but honestly my videos are meant for people starting out in the trade, people who like attempting doing things themselves (because there's nothing wrong with that) and people who just enjoy watching videos of people slingin mud! Some of my best clients are people who tried doing it themselves and now they 1,000,000% understand what goes into making things look as easy as we make them look. The way I see it I can at least teach other trades people how to better their work making the trade better in general and also letting clients attempt it themselves and then calling me to finish because they complety underestimated the task. I could go on but maybe I should save that topic for a live video in the future with you as the guest
