DMC Threads here in the Philippines is so very expensive now. Before, way back 2008 the price is 10php. Now is 25php so some of my cross stitch projects, I used CXC threads, before is 8php now is 12php. Soon, I will try this Royal Broiderie threads.
Well, i do not wear my sewing thread. It is on my needle. I have bought these threads for many, many years. They are all excellent. Polyester which is what cxc is blended with, was produced specifically to guard against fading. Royalbroderie is pure cotton. It will fade at tge same rate as dmc
You have absolutely no facts to back up all of your opinions. A “Quick google search” as you say you did to get all of these details will not give you the details you are looking for.
When making this video 2 years ago, if you googled either CXC or Royal threads together with alibaba, you found the links directly to the factories that produces them. On their main page you could see photos of the certificates that they was claiming to have. I looked up their certificate numbers on the corresponding certificate sites and they where either non existing or for another company. Also when you do google CXC or Royal together with alibaba you often find multiple factories that produces the same brand. Today 2 years later I did the same search for CXC and did find multiple factories saying that they produce them (each factory had different company names) , I did find one of them that does look more legit, again I can't verify anything but they seem to have more certificates and even have OEKO. But my worry there is more the other factories that are saying that it is CXC that they are producing but doesn't seem to have any certificates, how can we verify which CXC is the correct ones, specially if you get them from a random Etsy store. This video was more to give my thoughts on how we actually can't verify that these threads are what they seem, we can't verify that the dyes are not toxic. And with knowing that DMC have had to reformulate multiple colors due to toxic ingredients, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the colors are counted as toxic in eu or US. What we also need to remember is that china has different rules and regulations than US and EU, something that is counted as toxic in EU and US might not be counted as toxic in china. And it is the importers job to verify that before importing. That is my worry, and yes this information was a simple google search away...
@@thereallifeofmi i dye fiber for spinning, it’s all toxic, dye is toxic. Full of heavy metals and cancer causing agents. Even natural dyes depending on what mordant and metals you add are also dangerous. Acid dyes are all toxic, read the packaging. Also, all clothing and fabric is treated for bugs, mold and ect., they are treated before being packaged unless labeled otherwise. Food for thought!

There is recent studies that hair dye is toxic. That would concern me more than touching threads
The dye I use is actually non toxic and vegan.
