After a bit of research for a tune up for my R1200 I settled for Hilltop, they had some bad press but I still went, no issues job done money paid, before I left the workshop Jeff told me as you did, ride for a hundred miles or so and added that if I was not satisfied go back to them and the ECU would be reverted to standard, and money refunded, the difference for me was just right, no lagging throttle pick up was so smooth and pulled so much better, sold the R1200 for an R1250, no update as yet, time will tell.
Hi. Well I’ve just bought a gs1250 adventure treble black. And watching uour videos helped me make up my mind. Roll on this Saturday Pock up in glasgow and a 200 mile run on its first day. Keep up the good work
Had my 2019 1250 done not long after I got it wasn’t planing on it went along with 2 friends who were getting there 1200 done, Jeff was great really nice guy even got a discount for having the 3 done at the same time, definitely noticed the difference in the low to midrange, in the end my friend changed to a 1250 and mine always pulls better than his standard one, would recommend it
Frankly, I’ve never had a fuel injected bike that fuels as nicely on and off the throttle as a standard GS 1250 anyway, so for that to be better it must be amazing.
I've seen some really bad comments about Hilltop saying its all a rip of etc (plenty of videos out there). He did my sons 2011 firebalde and got a huge power increase and smoothed it all out. he also mapped by 2017 S1000r and made it smoother and put more power in the mid range. I can only speak as i find.
Yup likewise …. I had read all those comments too . Like I say do research and make your own mind up . I don’t think they’ve been found guilty of any crime !!!! 👍
Keep up the good work! I've watched this twice and you don't actually say that you've had it done on your bike. Your comments are about what we would expect rather than your own comments on how your bike has changed from having it done. So, have you had it mapped on your bike? I was also told recently by a tuning specialist in Peterborough that 2022 onwards BMW's cannot be mapped as BMW have imposed greater securities to protect this. If anyone has had mapping on BMW 2022 onwards, let me know please.
Hi Alan , good spot . Always got to be a bit careful incase Mr BMW is watching 😂, suffice to say that Peterborough are factually incorrect and it’s possible , with results expected as per video 😉
Hi, very informative as always, I see you’re using the DJI wireless mic and the Osmo Action 3. Your audio quality is excellent, so I’d be very interested to hear what gains you are using on your camera, receiver and transmitter and are they different when riding and in the man cave ? Thanks in advance. 👍
@@handlebarsandholidays camera settings are left standard on the bike and mancave I use an iPhone 8 ! On a tripod . But use the DJI mic plugged into it .
I had a 2014 GSA which was a nice machine as standard but suffered that hesitancy from emissions nonsense (which actually worsens fuel economy). I had a Hilltop remap and the bike rode smoother and down to lower revs. My fuel economy was superb as in high 60s MPG. The meter was spot on in terms of accuracy. Over 400 miles of tank range. Then it went in for a service and, I suspect, an updated software flash reduced my MPG by around 10. Along with the flap valve failing at just 7,500 miles I’d had enough of BMW. Sad because I loved the bike but not the build quality or service. How is your fuel economy now?
A smoother ride is always a more enjoyable ride! I will look into a service like that for my new Tiger 1200 Rally Pro because it can be really abrupt on/off throttle. Looked to get a GS initially but the closet dealer to me (Buffalo, NY - US) is 3 hrs away in any direction! The making of a servicing nightmare 👎🏾. Cheers!
Hi. Brilliant, makes the throttle linear. Put it this way, I wont be upgrading to the new 1300 anytime, my bike has plenty of oomph. Lots of folk I know have had it done.
I'm looking at our bike in the back ground and noticed there seems to be winglets for air management on each side of the windshield. Am i correct? If so is the some information that can be provided?
There is a lot of controversy about Hilltop's so called mapping. Without empirical evidence the video is really a waste of time. Of course you are going to want to feel a difference, therefore you will.....
That I cannot answer....speak to your supplier or dealer. All I can say is that I believe the bikes oem software is not effected and is left untouched. Apparently it's impossible to trace too. There has been lots of talk on forums about Hilltop , I guess you do what you feel comfortable in doing.
My question: Why doesn’t BMW install the same ecu in their factory, after all, we pay tons of money for that bike! Do you really feel it is worth that extra money? Thanks, Marc Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦🏍😉 Ride safely!
Because an ECU done at the factory covers all countries where they are sold...taking into account a wider range of fuel grades and weathers etc Once mapped locally will take into account your local grades and weather etc
you mentioned nothing about warranty, my bike still has 4 years of warranty left, am I going to lose it? In that case it's not worth it, not even if it was done for free.
@@sunnycloudy1337 indeed it’s entirely up to you . Loads of folk have their bikes tuned from new so you decide what you want to do , simple really . Don’t understand your problem as I did state do research in the description . Anyway have a great weekend and ride safe 👍

@@gsd32i cheers, i am about to purchase and have had mixed experiences with tuners. The internet is hard to interpret and if I made a video about a tune it’d be boring and off topic.

To tell you truth, the whole damn presentation came off more like a HOSTAGE VIDEO than an endorsement. Hell, you even added a disclaimer at the end! And where were the dogs??? Was Jeff threatening them?!! Scratch your left ear if I should call the cops!
Dogs all good 😁 Did I mention call Jeff 😂 i didn’t even get any discount ! Does make a difference …. that’s why I was slightly none too blown away by the new 1300, although hands down it is a quicker bike to get a wiggle on due to its smaller size and new chassis .
Thanks, now i've got something else to consider adding to the finest motorcycle available to man.

I think its the same as fuelx and simililar products. It just ads more fuel in closed loop mode when the lambda sensor is controling the fueling.
Thanks for the info....contemplating having this done. What jacket were you rockin' in your riding video? Rukka?
Hi just using Mondial textile jacket from Oxford 👍
