Cockpit cover fitted as instructed this afternoon, I had a double USB fitted with top entry, the nut was slow coming off but managed. WD40 on the thread going back made it easy also installed the front screws to holed the cover in place while fiddling with the back screw clips then remove before fitting the the front cover under the screen, all good, thanks again for the video.
That was a faff! Managed to get the plastic spanner back in to tighten the lock-ring. Put it down to my electrician skills. With the USB point, I just turned it 45° to the left and left it at that. Top video, super helpful, mate.

Awesome! yes very fiddly but the feeling will come back to the fingers when turning home the USB nut! Thank you for the clear instructional video, i have just come in having fitted this bit of kit to the cockpit of my BMW R1250 GSA, slightly different shape with the fairings but fitted perfectly well. A quick tip, when fitting the locking plastic holders onto the fairing of the bike, undo the bolt head to max open, then turn the catching lip of the plastic piece provided till its sitting under the fairing, hold in place and tighten the bolt. this way the piece of kit bites in true and holds fast. if you don't hold it, the plastic piece twists and you only have an edge biting into the underneath of the fairing. the way you gave clear step by step instructions really helped me through the process. thanks again. Angus
Thanks , it does finish the cockpit off quite nicely. A few people have suggested putting a rubber washer between the usb and the cover to raise it up a bit to aid insertion of the cable . I may give this a go even though there is that male into female piece that stops the usb charger from rotating . 👍
Good Evening, I concur a right faff. I fitted this evening so I’m sat here with tender finger tips. What I did do was replace the USB socket with the dual one from Nippy Norman’s and fitted the BMW one in place of the DIN plug just below the riders seat so it eliminated the need to cut the bung.
Great video, thanks! For the last part, instead of cutting off the first section of the USB cap, you could simply rotate the socket clockwise to a position that allows you to insert the USB connector w/o damaging the cap. Yes, then you have the anti-rotation dent for which you could simply cut a new groove in the desired position. Cheers
Can you please include here a link to the dual USB you've ordered? I have encountered a similar problem and up to now haven't given yet too much thought about how to solve it. Thanks!! Also, whenever you test it, I would appreciate it if you could comment about this product and if it has solved your issues. Cheers
Great video. Thanks. Top Tip: I had a major hassle trying to tighten the small plastic lugs with the locking nut dropping out of the slot and everything just spinning around. In the end I super glued the nuts into the holes on the plastic lugs which made the fitting lot easier.
Great vid - although mine was £14 - biggest headache the usb - got it off got the plug out then when I put it back put 4 rubber washers to raise it clear couldn’t get the steel screw on but on so pushed on a tight washer from the back - works a treat - quick tip if you take you’re faring off the front I checked the screws fixed to the screen some of them were semi loose - 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks mate . From South Africa 🇿🇦 we have big hands. Some words were used. I just screwed the usb unit to the new panel, easy. The panels attaches to 4 points . Seems to work 👊
This is a really useful and very comprehensive video, many thanks for posting it. I had taken a gamble on a cheap chinese copy of the cover and was scratching my head about how to fit it, there being no instructions (except a cheeky nod to the Wunderlich website!). Following your technique made the installation suprisingly simple, so much less complicated than I had feared. The cheap copy is actually really good by the way. Now tackling brake cleaning after watching your videos on this subject.
Great video, i appreciate your patience and your re-installing unit for your RUclips followers! That will be my Wed afternoon project on my 23 GS Trophy!
Excellent tutorial. I think this modification is mostly cosmetic. I recently purchased a 2013 R1200GS. It had original Michelin Anakee tires. Front tire made a lot of road noise. After watching and reading about tire reviews I ended up getting Michelin Road 6 tires. They are very quiet. No road noise at all.
You're right, it is a faff. Nippy's/ Wunderlich taking the P with the price. I bought mine from eBay for £9.74 (exactly the same item without the branding). Really finishes the cockpit nicely, don't understand all the "what's the point" comments. Another well made and really useful video btw [thumbsup]
Juat added this today and your video is invaluable. Found the metal nut a bit tough and a 7/8 inch wrench (open end) works as a modified nut driver. Looks great!
I just traded my RS in for a GS this afternoon. This part is a "must have" after being used to the tidy RS cockpit. Your channel will be my go to instruction site for a while🙂 Great videos. Thanks for your effort.
@@gsd32i I installed it on my bike this morning. Quite easy to do ( with a bit of patience and finger-spits-gefühl, the plastic spanner is pretty useful tightening the charging socket😉 ) It does make a small improvement to the ( very loud ) noise i have from the front of the bike. First i thought it was from the windscreen ( mine is extra tall and flapping around a bit). Then i thought the front wheel bearings were done😧 Checked that...nothing wrong. After playing around (testing different riding positions, speeds, throttle on/off, etc) i found out the noise is coming from my front tire. I bought the bike used with a brand new set of Battlax T31r. Great grip on tarmac and gravel, but the front tire is really really noisy. As my windscreen is much bigger than yours, i suspect it reflects more noise coming from the front fork "tunnel" to my helmet. So, as this addition might not be a huge improvement on the sound side, it certainly is ( as you mention ) to the look of the cockpit. After owning a 1250RS for a year, all the wires, brackets and cables out in the open was a pain to look at. ( PS have a GIVI "GSA" screen + the support bracket on order ) You have already touched on noisy tires in another video. Pretty important regarding comfort on this bike more than others. Apologies for the much too long comment. Thanks again for your effort.
Good tutorial with some great advice thanks for taking the time to show the easiest method. I made a home made version but alas the front wheel noise isn't much better, may have to buy one of these .
The brain would like to say the noise is less...however I am not able to say at the moment, too early. Certainly looks so much better. I may swap out the new oem adventure style tyres that the bike came with as these are noisy starting at 29mph! Looks like Pilot road 6 will be going on next .
Thanks for the usual formative video. I have used your films as a reference to do a couple of jobs on my GSA. After seeing how much trouble you had fitting this and considering my skills level I have decided to put up with the noise which I notice less and less as time goes on.
Just fitted this to my 23 GSA, Oh I wish I had small hands. It is achievable without the spanner but my fingers are now in traction for 6 weeks!. Looks good though and hopefully worth the effort. Thanks for the tips.
Yes it certainly is. That and the bar end weights are some of the best accessories I have fitted. The cover just completes the look, in my humble opinion. Hope the fingers get better !
I have a slightly earlier GS with the DIN socket where you have the USB and so in addition I fitted the accessory USB socket on the left side of the cockpit. I've asked Nippy Normans if the manufacturer has any plans to produce a version of the cover with provision for two power sockets (DIN and USB) and they said "no plans at present" so I won't be buying or fitting one. It will be interesting, though, to hear if you think the cover cuts down on road/tyre noise.
Is there much room underneath the cover to attach some sound-deadening foam (cut out from an old back protector). Picking up my GS1250 on Wednesday with much quieter Road 6s fitted but howl still audible at 40mph. Much reduced and now bearable, but if there's a bit of clearance added rubber under the cover can't make it worse! Thanks for the video - very clear and useful.
Thanks, I think you could add some foam if thats what you wanted. My understanding is that the clutch at the front of the motor does a lot to contribute to the BMW sound track!
Great video and crystal clear instructions! Considering to buy this myself, if so probably along with the dual socket plug Wunderlich provides. A question though, does the panel actually do anything with regards to blocking or diverting air in the fork shaft? Have you noticed any side effects vs air noise? Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the video. Have you noticed any improvement in the noise coming through that part of the bike? in mine, there is a deaf noise (kind of when you open back windows in a car), I wonder whether this is solved or mitigated at least. thanks
Hi, i also put new road tyres on. The whole thing is now much much better. Might be a psychologic thing when it comes to noise reduction!!with the cover alone. I really like the clean look the bike has, even if it does/does not reduce the nose level.
Great video. For the usb problem, you should consider switching the USB plug for another one, I use the one from Poweroo, it's a dual socket and it's faced up.
How about placing a rubber hose washer 1st on the usb plug before the nut. Would that raise the height of the usb plug enough to give it some additional room for ease of use? Just a thought. Thanks for a great install video.
Possibly . To be honest I just live with it and don’t use the usb much anyway . I should try that and lost it …. The usb has a male part to stop it turning when you secure it, I may give it a go and post 👍
Thanks for the idea! I did this on my install today and the rubber hose washer fit great, glad I had a black washer. Still had to trim the rubber insert but the USB cable plugs in much easier.
Does it make the riding experience quieter? Instead of using the thin nut could you not just replace it with a bigger/thicker nut of the same thread to make it easier to hold/locate and tighten?
Super SUPER helpful video! Looking at my amazon copy of the Wunderlich one and wondering this helps at all with wind, road noise, back splash in the rain? I'll still be putting it on but wondering what your feedback would be regarding those other aspects/ long term review. Thanks from California 🤙
I did consider this panel but vtold weren't shipping outside the EU at the time, like others it's more about road noise coming up if it doesn't reduce it the cost is a little steep for aesthetics the A41s are pretty bad so Road 5/6 when they are done here also.
The cover does make it look so much better , but I am a bit of a tart ( if I’m allowed to say that ? ) definitely changing the tyres sooner rather than later to pilot 6’s
The USB port I would use a plastic chopping board or something similar so it is 5mm thick and cut it to shape and needed then black spray paint to make everything look nice, if the wires are not long enough the cut them and add a couple of centimetres.
Quick question on road noise please, have you found the road noise from the front wheel more prominent or noticable since you fitted the cover? I have fitted one recently and now feel that the road noise is more focused coming from the front wheel through the opening below the cover and the bike..
My brain says it's a bit quieter! But without any audio testing device I can't say for sure. Thew clutch does make a noise on the front of the engine regardless, but my tourance Next 2 tyres make no noise whatsoever, longer trips with earplugs means no issue .👍
Great video, I’ve watch a few of your other video’s thanks for all your efforts, I’ve just purchased a 1250 GS, these videos are very useful to me. Question for you, does the cockpit cover offer wind protection?
Hi, and firstly thanks for some great super detailed instal videos, I’m riding exactly the same bike with exactly the same tyres and would be very interested to hear if you’ve since found this cover to reduce the road/tyre noise through the tunnel to a level that’s noticeably less ? Thanks in advance.
Hi.to be honest, its really difficult to say one way or the other, as the brain says it may be quieter if you know what I mean. I will probably swap the tyres out(Anakee adventure) and run with pilot 6's, but only after ive ridden the dealers owners gs that has just had them fitted, just to confirm that its the tyres predominantly making the awful noise, which starts at 39mph!!(speed limit where I live is 40)
@@gsd32i Hi, thanks for the reply, I’d love to know your opinion then once you’ve ridden his bike. I’m in exactly the same position and have an 8 day tour planned in October, after which I was also thinking of going for Pilot 6’s too, so we’re very much in the same boat. Feel free to check out my “much smaller” channel, it’s called Handlebars and Holidays.
Instead of cutting the USB rubber, you could have possibly added some washers to the thread and then put the nut on? This possibly could have given you some clearance to get the USB cable in?
There is a lug that fits into a cutout piece to stop the device turning . With washers you could use them but the charger may turn around a bit as the lug may not be in the cutout .
Hi mate, just fitted mine today. What a pain in the arse trying to get the usb charger to tighten up. I bloody cross threaded it first time then couldn't get the dam nut back off. Done now, back of hand covered in scratched. Looks ok I suppose but its way overpriced for what it is.
hi, hope the hand gets better.....yes it is overpriced , but been out on my GS today and it definitely make the area look much better....so I am pleased with the end result...I do so like things to look nice n tidy 😂!
Ill give it ago tomorrow, ive got just about every accessory going, it gets quite addictive lol. Ive had a couple of Gs's I love them and currently have the triple black, looks great👍
Thanks for that video! Would you say that the cockpit fairing takes away some of the annoying squeaking noice from the front wheel that comes through the gap of the steering column? Or does it not really make a difference?
To be honest, the clutch at the front of the bike makes a bit of noise and I don't think the cockpit fairing makes any difference....but I really like the how it finishes the bike...but its all subjective . have a great weekend 👍
I hope that once you get some dirt on your bike you can worry about it a bit less. My 1250 is corroding away with flaky paint on the engine and shaft cover and believe me I babied mine too !! But now just given up. I just take time now to enjoy it until the battery packs up again .....My other ride is the interceptor 650 and that thing makes me wonder why i paid nr 20k for my GS. They don't make em like they used to !!!
It has reduced the noise by a small margin , mostly though cosmetic if I am honest . Can’t say I’ve noticed any buffet up the fork tunnel , but the cover has been on for a while now so can’t remember what it was like before 🙈
Getting a lot of noise coming up from the fork area on my 23 GSA and I'm wondering if you notice any improvements of noise level after installing this cockpit cover?
Hallo, is it not more practical to fit the window in front of the frame so that it is easyer to clean? Or does that not fit? Regards from Holland, Mike
Hi there if you get a bmw motorrad connected ride cradle. This Mount's in the bmw Satnav cradle ... then place and connect the phone it also act's as a sat nav and charges the phone as you ride .... plus has tilt angle on it so as you ride round a corner, it gives your tilt angles 😉 lol
Hi Chris I looked at that but iPhone in my experience in the sun is just not that brilliant . Zumo is smith better . Plus I can live with some little sod knocking my zumo at the traffic lights but not my phone !
If you take two tiny pieces of tap to adhere the nut to the back of the plate, you dont have to fish it in and try to get it aligned after its all in place. You just have to reach your fingers into hold it in place as it breaks away from the tape and screw it on.
After you put this on, and have ridden the bike, does it get rid of the noise that comes up thru the forks? This is my main problem on my GSA, the amount of noise coming up thru the front forks from the road is insane. So does it get rid of that ??
@@gsd32i compared to £72 I personally think it’s a no brainier. The wunderlich part is probably made in china anyways like most other parts from the likes of the expensive company’s. That sell parts at a ridiculous price.
Nice job! ”Faff” My english improves 😁. Couldn’t you angle the USB socket to the left ti get clearance for the plug? I have one of those dual sockets but I don’t remember…
Hard to say , I would like to say yes it does but I don’t know if that’s me saying that because I now have a barrier between myself and the tyres . I now have the road 6’s which are much quieter than the oem ones .
Hi Mike . To be honest I am not sure 🙈 I don’t even know anyone who has the non tft version and there are none of those bikes in my dealer currently , so I can’t even go and have a look , to be able to get back to you , one way or another .
Thanks, mate. After reading all the comments -- particularly the one that mentioned a video on the Wunderlich site, I found that they have a super-detailed one for the analog instrumental panel. And fiddly it is, the instrument cluster must be removed to fit the panel. 😒
@@gsd32i Thanks, i find that a lot of air rushes up around the forks directly into my face while riding, and i find this most annoying. I ordered one of these from the overseas and expecting it soon. Hoping it will block some of this airflow without any downsides. However, I think if the bavarians thought it was a good idea to fit this part, the bike would come standard with it. So lets see.
Hi Jim, not sure about the box spanner unless its shaped like a human hand! Reduce noise, mmhm not sure, but it cleans the cockpit area up which is what I was really looking for. Michelin road 6 tyres going on next week at the 500 mile service and they are so much quieter than my oem tyres. Splashes , sorry no idea at the moment , haven't even washed it!
@@gsd32i I use Heidenau tyres they are almost as noisy as the TKC80 I had on my first Adventure, I check the box spanner theory while mine is on the lift.
@ Genuine Comments: I totally agree with you. Buying a part like this is often ridiculous in price. That is common to all !! major Bike Company’s. Go to Triumph, Ducati, H-D, and …. It is always the same. They often own these 3. Party Companies or want a huge amount of money for the right to equip their Bikes with alternative Parts
I think it makes a small Difference of the air coming up the form tubes , more for the looks and even after all this time with it on the bike I think it looks great and oem 😁
I’m must confess my ignorance to all things technical, just wondering if this accessory may interfere with access at service time and need to be removed and reinstalled?
There is a metal frame that the usb unit has to connect to also , it would be so much easier if you could de it the way you have thought of , but sadly cant 🙈
Because there is such a huge aftermarket industry for these bikes there is a risk of putting a multitude of unnecessary gimmicks onto them. I would suggest that this is one of them. I have a few accessories fitted to mine, X Heads, Barkbusters, WunderLINQ, toolbox, fender extenders f&r, TFT screen protector, windscreen brace, Cansmart and Baja Designs driving lights and Soundblaster. Every item has proven itself to be totally worthwhile but the cockpit cover? Apart from being a ripoff pricewise, it's going to make future maintenance a pain and doesn't really appear to have any genuine benefit.
Hello mates ... Do you have solid reason Why must install this cockpit cover? ..If can explain Reasonable reason Why should we install this cockpit cover?
I had to laugh when I saw the length of your video compared to your frame plug video. Like I said in a previous comment, being a plumber, I can get my hands in places no human should be able to 🤣 but my usb socket has found a nice spot to live on a shelf for now, I had to call it a day... It's a stupid amount of money for what it is but it makes such a big difference its justifiable, just... I'll be interested to see how much of a difference the road 6 tyres make to the noise, unless I get there before you, I had road 5's on my GTR and loved them. My dealer runs pirelli scorpion 2 tyres on his own bike and says they are much more quiet. I have some new custom earplugs ordered to replace my 12 year old plugs. I'll try these before new tyres. Wish I'd gone for the gold wheels now instead of the black spoked. Bugger😠
😂 cheers , small hands do come in handy (groan) . Had the scorpion 2’s on my Africa Twin and they had zero road noise . The dealership owner has the pilot 6’s on his new GSA and I was speaking to him tonight about road noise and he did say the anakee’s were noisy with most GS road riders changing to a more road focussed tyre at the first service , which I may do . I may try his bike just to confirm how quiet they are . Sorry about the length of video but these videos unless you show everything are a total waste of time ! Black bodywork surprisingly shows the dust 😂
I just purchased one, I can’t believe how small it is and flimsy for the price. The cost to manufacture it can only be a few pounds less than £3, mine doesn’t even look as good as yours. I have had my own companies manufacturing both inject and vacuum forming products this one is an absolute rip off. The margins either to the manufacture or supplier must be huge line 25 times the cost. Shocking , I would advise anyone else not to purchase one until the price is mor like £25

For the cost of a premium bike BMW should fit a piece like this to finish the GS off.
Thanks!
Hi . Can’t say it has reduced noise but makes things look much better .
dog looks thrilled!
I have one installed too. I really dont understand why this is not mounted from factory. It makes the cockpit look great.
Great video. For the usb problem, you should consider switching the USB plug for another one, I use the one from Poweroo, it's a dual socket and it's faced up.
Yes I changed a little while ago to a Dual USB.
@@rolandofranco9993 Glad it worked. I'm going to do the same when I install mine.
Does it make the riding experience quieter? Instead of using the thin nut could you not just replace it with a bigger/thicker nut of the same thread to make it easier to hold/locate and tighten?
Quieter ....not really, it's the clutch noise that does it I believe. Looks massively better though. Yes you could I guess.👍
Hi . To be honest it doesn’t do a lot from a noise issue . But makes the front look so much tidier. Would I buy it again ? Yes . 👍
I had the same issue (different installation) I bought a 90 degree usb cable. solved the problem
Didn’t know they did those 🙈
@@gsd32i Lifesaver for what I needed. Hope it helps. I have 2 GSD's at home! Jim from San Diego CA
Possibly a bit , but I got it more for the look.
@@handlebarsandholidays will do . Should be riding the dealers bike today as they are offering free ice cream today ! Would be rude not to 🤪
@@gsd32i Exactly ! ...... cheers
@@Carlshandlebarsandholidays so what did you think of the dealers bike with the pilot 6’s, any better ?
Excellent. Have you noticed any reduction in road noise from the front wheel?
Not much. But li like the way it finishes the cockpit area off. 👍
Excellent tutorial. Thank you
You are welcome!
i bought one off ebay for £19.00
fitted a treat
👏
@@gsd32i okay, thanks! You too!
Why not replace the USB socket for a double top loader. You can get them from Nippy Normans too.
Thanks I’ll have a look 👍
I hope that once you get some dirt on your bike you can worry about it a bit less. My 1250 is corroding away with flaky paint on the engine and shaft cover and believe me I babied mine too !! But now just given up. I just take time now to enjoy it until the battery packs up again .....My other ride is the interceptor 650 and that thing makes me wonder why i paid nr 20k for my GS. They don't make em like they used to !!!
Oh dear....I feel your pain. Is everything done on the cheap now? No pride anymore🙈
Hello
Can you tell me - did the cover stop any of the noise that you get coming up the fork tunnel. The noise on mine is driving me mad
Sadly not by much if any 🙈 TBH Doesn't bother me now!
Was the benefit purely cosmetic, or did it stop wind noise or buffeting ?
It has reduced the noise by a small margin , mostly though cosmetic if I am honest . Can’t say I’ve noticed any buffet up the fork tunnel , but the cover has been on for a while now so can’t remember what it was like before 🙈
Getting a lot of noise coming up from the fork area on my 23 GSA and I'm wondering if you notice any improvements of noise level after installing this cockpit cover?
Not a great deal tbh . More
To do with the tyres possibly . I swapped to road 6’s and noticeably quieter
Hallo, is it not more practical to fit the window in front of the frame so that it is easyer to clean? Or does that not fit? Regards from Holland, Mike
Not sure what you mean. But the way it's fitted there is no issue in cleaning. 😁
Thanks! 🙂
I noticed wind protection deflectors on each side, how do you rate them , would you recommend them, and where did you purchase them?
Standard on the gs 👍
a good tutorial, danke !!
Is it functional or just decoarative?
functional.
Did you try to pop off the usb cover all together and rotate it 180 deg so it flipped open upwards instead of downwards?
Its a fixed unit. I did look at that ( i think 🤔!)
If you take two tiny pieces of tap to adhere the nut to the back of the plate, you dont have to fish it in and try to get it aligned after its all in place. You just have to reach your fingers into hold it in place as it breaks away from the tape and screw it on.
Hi, can you give some feedback on the effectiveness of the infill, is it a quieter ride?
Honestly ....can't say its quieter, but it looks way nicer in my opinion.😁
Cheers, ordered one today 👍
After you put this on, and have ridden the bike, does it get rid of the noise that comes up thru the forks? This is my main problem on my GSA, the amount of noise coming up thru the front forks from the road is insane. So does it get rid of that ??
Paul not sure at the moment as I think the adventure tyres that are oem have a noise switch inbuilt at 39mph 🙈
Thanks for the video. £3.50 from Ali express for the cockpit fairing.
Not a great fan of the knock off trade but everyone has choices .👍
@@gsd32i compared to £72 I personally think it’s a no brainier. The wunderlich part is probably made in china anyways like most other parts from the likes of the expensive company’s. That sell parts at a ridiculous price.
@@martindove2819 Not saying its cheap but not going to pay into the knock off market. Either way ride safe 😁
Nice job! ”Faff” My english improves 😁. Couldn’t you angle the USB socket to the left ti get clearance for the plug? I have one of those dual sockets but I don’t remember…
sadly I can't angle it due to its construction.
What is the advantage of having the cockpit cover?
Basically it’s for the look . 😁
Does it Quiet down some front tire noise?
Thanks for sharing.
Hard to say , I would like to say yes it does but I don’t know if that’s me saying that because I now have a barrier between myself and the tyres . I now have the road 6’s which are much quieter than the oem ones .
I run the TrailMax's front and back there not real noisy but the oem's sounded BAD! Got rid of them under 4000 miles do to the noise.
Any thoughts about the panel fitting with the pre-TFT display panel?
😒
The panel is listed at $159.95USD. 🤑
Haven’t seen anyone ask this question. What difference does this part actually make to the riding experience?
Hi Chris . Most people ask about noise reduction … doesn’t reduce noise really but looks like it was fitted at the factory
and looks very good .
@@chrisfouche9562no issues with the wind rushing up through forks . Oh it looks nice too 😁
What if you turned the USB socket more toward the centre of the bike rather than keeping it straight ?
There is a male and female thing going on with the usb and bit it glows into ! If it was only that simple . Works fine just a bit tight ! 👍
What type of windshild you have on your bike sir? Where can i purchase this one ?Thank you
BMW Motorrad Rally screen from their accessory range.
use the needle nose pliers to tighten the nut underside usb?
Would a 22mm box spanner help? Does it reduce noise and splashes onto the TFT screen. Thanks for sharing
Not a chance of getting much up there I have a 22mm ratchet spanner but its to long! Oh well we'll see how I get on 🤣
@ Genuine Comments: I totally agree with you. Buying a part like this is often ridiculous in price. That is common to all !! major Bike Company’s. Go to Triumph, Ducati, H-D, and …. It is always the same. They often own these 3. Party Companies or want a huge amount of money for the right to equip their Bikes with alternative Parts
I am curious if this helps with the tunnel noise a bit?
Gotta say …. Not sure if I am honest . My new tyres do though !
Does this make much differnce to turbulence etc please?
I think it makes a small
Difference of the air coming up the form tubes , more for the looks and even after all this time with it on the bike I think it looks great and oem 😁
I’m must confess my ignorance to all things technical, just wondering if this accessory may interfere with access at service time and need to be removed and reinstalled?
You can always ask the service manager before it goes in for whatever work etc 👍
@@gsd32i I’ll ask next time. At least it’s not a K1600, half service time is removing/replacing fairings.

Why can’t you fit the usb outlet into the cover while on the bench prior to fitting? The you simply have to reconnect power supply
There is a metal frame that the usb unit has to connect to also , it would be so much easier if you could de it the way you have thought of , but sadly cant 🙈
I own a 2020 gs just wondered what the per pose of fitting the cockpit cover was for ??
Hi Brian, for me, it was purely cosmetic. Yup, sad I know, but it looks so much cleaner.
could you attach the usb to the cover then install the cover then hook up the power supply
You could do I guess . I just now angle it to the side when I want to plug in the usb .👍
I don’t think that would work because the socket has to go back through the original metal bracket on the bike.
Thanks for the informative video. I’ll try using a crowsfoot socket to snug down the USB nut.
Well done ¡¡. Good work ¡¡ Thanks ¡¡.
👍
Does it noticeably reduce front wheel noise?
No. But looks better. Tyre choice has a bit to do with the wind noise, plus you get a bit of clutch noise too.
Best video
Thank you very much 👍 ride safe
@@gsd32i I bought the same part. This video was very good, I will montage it tonight.
Interesting, for me it tidy's the front area up and other than the price I am pleased with the item. Each to their own as they say and ride safe 👍
Great information......S.F.A.
Glad it was helpful!
Hello mates ... Do you have solid reason Why must install this cockpit cover? ..If can explain Reasonable reason Why should we install this cockpit cover?
Simple it makes the area look much better ….. in my opinion 😀

Should be called Rippy Normans. I
I’d call it whatever if I didn’t have to pay for it ! 👍
Thx for the vid. Just wondering why one would install that bracket??
Bracket? If you mean the whole item , it’s purely for cosmetic purposes to tidy the area up . 😊
What do in you bike Terry

Why not just get a right angle USB cable .... I wouldn't have cut it
Hi David, I don't have any knowledge on right angled usb cables but that may be a future option thanks 👍
Shocking , I would advise anyone else not to purchase one until the price is mor like £25
Agree, its costly but looks great. How sad am I 🙄
There is another company that makes the same product, I saw it on You Tube, will try to find it.
