exposing those supports in the attic to give even more vertical space would look really nice, i think.
also that 3D scan tech Noda-san uses is so cool!

This is so exciting! Glad to see you are moving forward despite the setbacks with the house in Noto. I hope your family is doing well.

Congrats. Good luck with the renovation. The people you assembled to do the work seem like a good fit. BTW, we used lidar on a large commercial building--in the end we sold the space after owning for one year as we found a space better suited for us right down the street AND then we put this second space on the market last month after we consulted with several contractors and engineers and the bids we got for renovation were astronomical--the space is an 8000sq ft bow truss building. We are now looking at commercial spaces that require little to no renovation. I look forward to the progress on your new building. Did they give you a time-frame for the renovation work? Is the permit process easy or difficult in this city?

I had been wondering what the status of the Noto property was and wondered if it had been affected by the quake.
Excited to see this new project!

Hi Steven, can I hv yr advice on whether Kashiwazaki City is a viable place to stay?

Hi Danny, I have not been there personally. As it's towards the southern part of Niigata pref (warmer) and relatively close to the Joetsu shinkansen, I don't think there's any problem with living in Kashiwazaki city.
