Really happy to see this series coming. I'm actually waiting on my incoming backorder of the SMT10 builder's kit. I already have most of the upgrades I'm going to incorporate into my build too. I'm starting to chomp at the bit, worrying that this corona virus B.S. might cause a delay in the shipping of my kit. I hope not. Anyway, I'm sure looking forward to your upcoming build series. I do have my Awesome New LMT Gravedigger to keep me busy while waiting on SMT Electronics.😁
Since we got rid of cable, haven't seen any monster jam in a long time. And the last show I went to the trucks were still on leaf springs and military surplus Rockwells... I did always like Monster Mutt and was the weird kid who liked the tank trucks like Car Killer and the Virginia Beach Beast.
FYI if you firmware upgrade your DX5 Rugged black and the SR315 you will get smart telemetry. Not entirely useful without a smart ESC too, but nice I guess. No OTA updates though, you have to buy the Spektrum USB cable and have a Windows PC to do it. Thanks for the swaybar part number too. Although I'm considering trying shocks over axle on front instead, ever try that?
Thanks for the tip. I know the DX5 Rugged I have works with telemetry as that’s the one I’ve been using to test it on the Losi DB Pro, but I didn’t know about the SR315 having the capability. Shocks on axle looks awesome but stiffens it up. I had it like that on one truck and decided to move it back to the trailing arms for handling. I need to try it again with different shock springs or something.
I’ve seen a video where if you only put one screw in the lower link to reconnect to the axle the after you put the tube in, the axle should side right in, without grinding.
Michael Shreve my axles wouldn’t fit through the meta tube when I tried before putting either in the axle. It will fit into the plastic housing with one link screw, but not the aftermarket metal tube inserts.

Don’t I need that small “U” shaped mount to bolt to the front? I don’t see it included in the kit your showing there. The mount part number is AX31352 per the parts list manual.
I've just received some jconcepts rangers to go on the wheels which came with the builders kit. The fit is a bit loose on the rim and wondering if that's normal. Contemplating whether to glue them on or get some jconcept midwest wheels instead. What do you think? Thanks
LMT is my favorite RTR RC I’ve ever owned. Yes the axles can break, but so do the smt10. Just have to drive it like a solid axle or upgrade to metal axles when you can. It’s a blast to run. Smt10 is fun too, but really opens up when you go brushless.

I just put this one together a few weeks ago. Mine had the wrong parts trees for the driveshafts. Still waiting for replacements to finish.

No . The stock wheels are 2.2 while the jconcepts are 2.6
