    You know when you are putting out great content when you got someone to watch a 22 minute video from start to end and I don't own or will own a solid axle monster truck. Great video Tony. Looking forward to the next part. At the end of this maybe you will convert me to getting a solid axle monster truck😊

    I haven’t even gotten all the way through and this makes me want to make some videos about building trucks or performing simple rebuilds! I like these kind of videos Tony, you can probably tell since I do more tinkering and wrenching than driving lol

    What is easier to build... this kit or one of the new Axial kits like the Capra or the SCX10 III?? I assume that because of all of the part trees on this kit that the new kits are easier. I have built the Capra kit, and that was a fascinating build! Love the videos Tony! Keep up the great work!

      I ordered both kits so I could do a side by side comparison, only reason I thought of sending back the SMT10 is because of parts being attached to “parts tree” and all the cutting & filing for a clean fit, and I’m wondering if they’ll hold up as well as the Capra.

    I guess I should buy a monster truck one of these days. Never had one

    Would you say this is the best chassis for monster truck racing or do you have any other suggestions?

    Where can I buy the tubes that go inside the diffs

    Really enjoying this build series. Just came at right time because I am thinking about buying a SMT10 and mount large tyres. Can you possibly help with this question, I can find axle tubes in the UK but it says they are for wraith/ax10/rr10. They look the same as yours BUT would like to know for sure.thanks

    Any idea what the third grub screws are for? Instruction sheet shows them going into the diff covers but there are no holes. I see you also had two left on your mat at the end of the video.

      I wondered the same thing. Couldn't find a spot for the third one.

    Does the kit come with more durable and all around better parts than the RTR Grave Digger?

    • @CCxRC

      Better than the V1, but not the current release that has the metal transmission gears.

    Did you get any binding in the gears? When I built the AR60 axels for my Wraith I had to shim the bearings so the ring and pinion didn’t bind.

      sounds like something wasent seated properly.

    • @brianbeck7468
      @brianbeck7468 4 года назад

      Mine was poor manufacturing. The shims took care of the problem. Hopefully now that Axial is owned by Horizon they have improved their quality. Both of the Axial vehicles I owned were pre Horizon and after building many kits over the years from various manufacturers, I determined that Axial was just not up to par when it comes to fit and finish , and durability. I may change my opinion when and if I buy a newer Axial kit.

      @@brianbeck7468 i just finished building a Smt10 builders kit a few weeks ago and have had no issues with it so that may be the case.

    • @brianbeck7468
      @brianbeck7468 4 года назад

      I am curious to build a new Axial Kit, I might eventually pick up an SMT10 kit. The axel issue I had also may have just been my kit. I tried some aftermarket machined gears and they would bind as well unless I shimmied the bearings. I still like Axial but just had an issue building the axels in my Wraith Kit several years ago.

    • @ShabbernigdoXingjian
      @ShabbernigdoXingjian 4 года назад

      @@brianbeck7468 I never had any issues with mine. I dident use the stock gear set tho i went with the underdrive set and it all just slid right into place for the most part. The little bearing caps for the diffs have these little ears that are a pretty tight fit but other then that no issues. The pinion has a little in and out play but its small and every rc ive ever built has had a little play in it.

  • @TheDeLeonGarageCollection
    @TheDeLeonGarageCollection 4 года назад

    Are shims necessary for the pinion to get full contact with the ring? Do you test the fit or assume they are good?

    • @CCxRC
      @CCxRC  4 года назад +1

      Some people have to shun them. I usually put in the HD bevel gear set and have no issues. The stock ones seem to strip easily when using larger 2.6 wheels. If you feel some slop, a shim will help.

    Hi fella that cow rc stuff is just repackaged Lucas red and tacky which is much cheaper to buy but don’t come in a fancy pot 😂😂.
