- This video show the history of the various religions of the The United States of America using an animated map in order to display which areas are majority of that religion, Starting from the year 1600 of the first English colony along the eastern coast of the US the video goes all the way up to the year 2023 CE and then shows my predictions for what will happen between the years 2023 CE - 2100 CE. You can check out some of my sources below if you are interested and want to learn more (if you have a good enough attention span to be able to read lol) Don't forget to comment like and subscribe and to hit the bell notification so that you can get notified immediately about new videos that I upload and make sure to share this video with you're friends and family as well!

Reply to this comment and let me know would you like for me to make a video on the history of religion in Europe 600 BCE - 2100 CE?
If not what other regions of the worlds religion would you like to see me make?
Something that I would like to clarify is that during the era of westward expansion/manifest destiny in the video, the areas that become Protestant majority during that period are not exactly fully 100% happening in parallel to where white European settlers are. Some of the areas that become Protestant majority are not because of white settlers moving into that region but because the Native Americans in that region have been converted to Protestant Christianity, as shown in the video when the trail of tears happens and the natives are moved to Oklahoma, in the video Oklahoma is shown as being Largely Protestant because many of the natives during the trail of tears were converted along the way but many chose to stick with their indigenous faith. So don't make the mistake of thinking Protestant majority = white or non native majority. ALSO, I would like to point out a small error that I noticed, from my research the Navajo reservation AAs the last major reservation to be mostly converted to Christianity in the 1950's, though in the video I left it blank by accident woops.
Any ways don't forget to comment, like and subscribe and hit the bell icon so you cna notified whenever I upload a new video, and make sure to share it with your friends! See you all soon!

For California all the Catholic missions in the second half of the 18th century and the century after are completely ignored. Here it is shown that Protestantism was rhe first to arrive to the state.

@@bjornironside1857 yea, dont forget about russian colonies.
@@Mix-xn9lc Spain had an slightly earlier presence, but yeah, the Russians also reached as far as San Francisco at one point, just as Spain reached Alaska at the same time.
Sadly.
Thats because Spain made them then left, there are no written documents detailing how much conversions of the natives they made. It was majority native under the Spanish, and settlers only were focused in the south along LA, the first documented residents were Russians holding Fort Ross and trading so it would've been orthodox until the mass migrations during the California gold rush brought thousands of protestants to north california
Interesting map but terrible choice of colors for labels
i think its based on if its similar to a general religion, like how Protestant and Catholic are Christian (and Mormon). Although "Jews" is also labeled with a blue color, and really small areas are harder to differentiate.

I am from Québec and well, the map isn't really telling the truth... Churches here are emptying fast and some churches are abandoned. To be honest, I do expect that in one or two generations most Quebecers will be irreligious on paper too since each generation is baptized less and less. This map is so bad in so many ways good god. Maryland? Lol must be protestant. Catholic missions in California? wtf are those? Mobile, AL founded in 1702 doesn't appear colonized by Europeans until 1821 in this map, and then it just magically appears as a Protestant settlement. Not to mention the color choices for Christianity and Jews being so similar it's hard to tell at a glance, like you know more colors than just blue exist? Native peoples didn't even have their beliefs attempt to be mapped they just phoned it in there. Then the biggest issue is Protestantism itself. Just one giant homogenous blob, even though there are dozens of denominations important to American history. Quakers? nope. Baptists? never heard of em. Methodists? the hell is that.
