you guys should fish some tournaments together again and film them and make a tournament video series! that'd be badass!!

They would end up giving away a lot of info tho.. I'm sure everyone in California watches their videos.. 50 boats will be on their spots instead of just 20

Most important thing is to learn from our screw ups and not blame something else. I know you have had tons of tournament success, both of you! You are both great communicators and teachers. I've been fishing for over 50yrs and I'm still learning, the best part of watching Tactical Bassin is you guys spend the money and then tell us what works, you've saved me alot of cash. Thanks

If your bending out that hook, that size, on a rod/reel/line set up like that, there is nothing to be ashamed of except tellingl the story good enough. this is by far one of my favorite videos. you guys let your personalities shine big time. great video and I'm sure you guys were being gunned for by all the other locals. i know around where i live, sometimes its just about beating the "pro" more than winning.

Mr. FatBasstard Ya, that is not cool at all. Here in Ohio, we have nice size houses with multiple acre yards for less than 250,000, but finding 6-7lb bass is pretty much like chasing a white buffalo.

William johnson oh ya. That's a few million dollar spread out here.... I catch plenty of big bass in Ca. but I don't consider myself any better a fisherman than anyone else. We have trout fisherman that troll and catch occasional 6 lb bass and call them "Pesky Bass"

You couldn't pay me to live in "COMMUfornia". Their whole damn state government is made up of scumbag communists. Even their so-called "conservatives" are sell-outs. Most of em anyway. They are literally placing illegal aliens AHEAD OF the locals, and purposely trying to flood the whole damned state with illegal aliens, GIVING them welfare, housing & food.......while they tax the life out of the locals & businesses.......which are moving out of the state in record numbers. Commufornia is in BIG trouble. And I truly feel sorry for the locals. It's one thing to appreciate or admire the fishing somewhere........but it's a whole other deal to actually LIVE there. If you combine quality bass fishing WITH living somewhere.......I'll choose Florida, Texas, and Alabama.....hands down.

Elvis Aviles no thanks California isn't for everyone and it isn't even really beautiful unless you think miles of backed up traffic is beautiful and buildings everywhere there's just a coast which like 15 other states have and it's the coast that's getting raped by radiation cali is hyped by the locals but is just like everywhere else has its goods and has its bads expect California has some more problems then most states.

Ok so I finally had time to watch the entire video. I love the fact that you guys put it all out there and share your personal experiences. It really sucks that you lost a true beast under the gun during a tournament. We can all relate to that empty feeling and the moment after when your totally deflated. I was fishing my first event this year after recovering from a back Injury and had a similar situation, although there is a huge discrepancy in fish size here in Ohio. I hooked an 18-20" bass in some Lilly pads and she got entangled. The max cuatro didn't cut right through like it normally does. When I got up near the fish she bolted again, and that's when the braid sheared off the pads and she went under my kayak and got away. I was so devastated it took me a minute to mentally recover. Well I made my way to some docks and I picked a nice large corner dock with good shade. I skipped a wacky rigged jackall flick shake all the way under too far onto shore, once that worm hit the water a violent explosion and I had another big Ohio bass on. This time I was using my spinning rod set up because I was just trying to catch a limit. I hooked her, was fighting the fish, and then she broke me off on a piling. I was totally defeated at that point and never caught another fish or had another bite all day. It was the only time I have ever been skunked during a tourney in my life. I bounced back and won the very next event, so keep your head up and I'm sure with your skills and knowledge you guys will be in the winner circle sooner than later.

Love the stories! Everyone has days like that. I have been using Carolina rigs with 10"powerworm fishing weed lines on flats and points this summer. I have been doing well, but two times I feel the bite and set the hook and it just rips. Huge fish. I can barely move it and then tink, line broke. It's so hard to comeback after that. Then very next day same spot almost same thing happened. Devastating.

it hurts losing one by 1/4 pound. I had a fish run me into a trot line a few years ago. I was fishing a square bill down a set of barges and docks. I caught a decent keeper and just could not get another keeper to bite. it was our clubs last tournament of the year and I was in the lead for AOY. This club goes by total weight and 3 fish per man limit in tournaments. The guy in 2nd was a little over a pound behind me. At the end of the day I get smoked and hook this fish about a pound and a half and it jumps and runs me right into this trot line someone abandoned. It stays pegged until the boat got close and it started struggling and came off. I couldn't get another keeper bite that day. The guy behind me in the standings weighed in two fish and beat me out for AOY by 2/10 of a pound. All year down the drain because of one trot line. lol
