Revisiting this for the first time since the match first happened. John has improved ALOT since this match, both in strength, and stamina
John Brzenk is an absolute living legend. Sure he's lost matches, but the man has cemented his status dominating the sport for over 30+ years beating guys who are much bigger than he was throughout his whole career.
The undeniable fact is no arm wrestler could match his legacy. Even now at 57 years of age, John is still a beast proving once again why he's the GOAT.

Great guy, really a down-to-earth kind of person. He was really cool Saturday when we were there, just talked to everyone, watched the matches, and was there enjoying it like everyone else.
And unlike many of the top armwrestlers, he will live longer, probably even outlive some..

John's flop press is both rare as hell and SAVAGE! Wasn't really a flop press though, he didn't lose his hand all the way, but his hand was bent over which I rarely have ever seen done to John, yet he still pulled it out.
I love this footage, i had a great time seeing all the angles from a spectators's crowd view.
I'm shy to say this,but i just found out about John 2 days ago...than i found out about Devon...and now i'm an Arm wrestling fan :) John and Devon r legit amazing men with an unrivaled level of heart and skill.

Welcome to arm wrestling man. Personally, devon is the first pro arm wrestler i watched and the one that made me love the sport. Lucky for you, you can start binging all his videos lol. Ive practically watched them all😂
i found this sport by accidentally in my recommendation videos about 3 month before. I remember that i was look video where is Schoolboy. Since then i am in love with this sport. Also i am girl i really love this guys.

Wish I knew what John said to Dmitry at 14:17 before he applied the head-shaking hydraulic press... it looked like Dmitry said "go" shortly after their friendly-appearing exchange and gave it everything he had to hold John back but couldn't. Great match and props to both individuals. He made John earn this win. That says a lot about the fresh out of retirement GOAT.

Love John, been following him since the mid 80's, when I saw one of his battles with Dave Patton. I'd like to see him work on his stamina a little, he seemed awful winded after the second match.
I mean, he is 57 after having been basically retired from the sport for 3-5 years and is pulling a world level 32 year old here so...🤷♂️

Obviously, refs can vary widely, but is there any accepted wisdom on whether there's an advantage to the ref being on your forehand (to your left in a RH match) or on your backhand (to your right on a RG match)?

This was closer than it looked. Jon said it himself after the pull. He thought he was gonna dominate him but was surprised by his strength

If you follow Texas Armwrestling League on Facebook, they always post their events and the times for them usually a few months outside of the actual day. Hopefully you can catch the next one.
