You're the best dermatologist on social media. You are very authentic
Thank you! At 71 years young, I have NO expectation that any potion will make me look 40 again…and that’s ok. I just want products that will allow me to look the best that I can and that I can feel good about that. There is so much hype out there about aging. How sad that we can’t see that every candle we get to add to our cake is a blessing (only one alternative🤪). Thank you for your open, honest videos. I appreciate that you not only respect our intelligence, but also that everyone’s financial situation is different. Offering us options is very helpful. Thanks for all you do. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
As someone who does not watch TV or consume social media and have a social circle that does not partake in any cosmetic “enhancements”, when i look at someone who has been even the slightest overdone I notice immediately, I cannot unsee it, I’m extremely distracted by it, and I don’t take them seriously. It’s a bias I have and it’s not an explicit thought process of mine but I’ve had PCPs or interviews with potential supervisors who were overdone and I just couldn’t see past it.
Bobby Brown has spoken out about filler and Botox. She only does lasers and may be someone to look into who is in the cosmetic field and does not get lost in the hype.
Your post resonates with me. I too am 71 and on a budget so I really appreciate influencers sharing affordable options!
@@DELLRS2012 if you don't "consume social media" why are you here? Obviously you do.
@@katgirlblue I forget some people count RUclips as social media. That makes sense. I was referring to Facebook, instagram, TikTok, etc
@@DELLRS2012 I understand, but it isn't some people - RUclips IS social media and always was - it's a global forum and was one of the first.
Your advice to not compare your self to others on social media or in general is the best advice ever
I love your views on the beauty industry, thank you Maren! I also love that you are probably the only person on RUclips in this space who doesn't have fillers &/or botox in your face!!
THANK YOU!!!!! What an amazingly inspirational video! Thank you for being an inspiration and voice for us!
I love you! You’re just soo honest and I love your approach in every sense! Thank you for making amazing videos like this and always giving us a chance to find something on a budget ❤❤
I've been using these products upon your suggestion for about 2 years. Love them! And thank you! I didn't know about the sale rn 🎉
I have used this brand for quite awhile. I discovered from these videos,. It really works.....I am 72 years old and have used retinol with a subscription for a very long time. As i have gotten older my skin has gotten more sensitive. This brand has really helped me!!! Try it , its greart!!
Sis went off!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I started using this product because you recommended it as well. I’m now moving up to .1 version.
I love you! I have missed you. I miss your takes on aging. I don’t want fillers, I want to age! But I do want to look as great as I can as I age. Consistent skincare has been working so well! Thanks for all the wonderful advice!
Awesome! Thanks so much for your honesty and encouragement. I appreciate you!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for your comments finally someone spoke the truth about beauty - you are absolutely correct!!!!!!
Truly thank you for having the courage to be so practical and realistic about women’s beauty. I’m 34 and find myself feeling pressure to look a certain way - it’s refreshing to hear your opinions and a great reminder for all women to be kind to themselves. 💕
I have watched you for a few years now, and besides your recommendations, I appreciate your honesty.
Hey, Maren! I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while. I’m 62 and got tired of spending a LOT of money for products that didn’t do what they claimed to do!
I just got the Dermelect Smooth Upper Lip Perioral Anti-Aging Treatment AND Dr. Dennis Gross’s SpectraLite LipWare Pro. After three uses, I can ALREADY see a plumper top lip AND lip lines (from sleeping on my side) drastically reduced!!!
Thank you for giving honest information about skin products!
Love this "keeping it real" video Doc Locke! I've been using Avene's products since discovering them in Europe nearly 30 years ago. They make my sensitive skin so happy and plump. Any time I cycle off them it's always great to come back around, they really agree with a healthy skin barrier! Woot woot. Just love the keeping it real part of this video....seriously girl!!!
Love your tutorials and appreciate the hard work you've done. I am 63 and I follow your regiment Avene doesn't give me result but other products YES like Timeless. When i visit my family they ask me why my face glow and it looks healthy.
Even go to work either no make only Tula the blue stick it makes magic 🎉
Just ordered the Avène .05, the sale really is a good deal, plus free shipping to boot 😀 I'm in my mid40s and have been really happy with products you've recommended. My skin was rough looking and sooo dry; it's looking so much healthier now.
I LOVE YOUR MESSAGE!!!
Thank you so much for addressing this unattainable perfection. It is not realty at all. This is so refreshing! I will be sharing this video. Xo
Well said! I'm so tired of the anti-aging movement...People age, it's normal, it's normal to get wrinkles! My god, why would I want to look like I'm 40 when I'm many many years older... Like you, I want to look as good as I can for my age, naturally...I do not judge those who want to have things done...however, it is quite noticeable when people have had work done..it's sad to see young women in their 20's and 30's worrying about wrinkles and not looking perfect...thank you for your honesty and educating us.
Thanks for sharing your recommendations and tips. LOVE your natural beauty and encouragement to pursue our own definition of beauty!
Thank YOU! There are so many lies on social media, including from doctors. Let's face it: it's all about making money. One dermatologist would "brag" about how smart she was to become a dermatologist, which is total BS because all doctors need to be brilliant. Ask me how I know. Anyway, I use Avene Retrinal, and my skin looks great for my age. Their entire line is affordable and excellent. Additionally, they often offer fantastic discounts.
Also wanna say I'VE learned alot about my skin over the years and about what products that can be effective . Your channel is a well of knowledge. Thank you again lol 😀
I love the message ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for the reminder ❤️❤️❤️
Have used the face cream and eye cream at your recommendation. Amazing! Have used for two years and won’t be without them.
✨Thank you‼️ I’m so glad you put this message out there…but, crazy that this needs to be said👀 Love your videos and info!❤️✨
You are fantastic! Thank you for sharing your expertise and also watching our budget. I love your philosophy. 💖
I use prescription Retin A. I want to thank you for your honesty. Some of the women on RUclips look unreal great and it does make one feel lessor than, so thank you!
When I was a young girl I used to love to smooth my fingers over my grandma's soft, crinkly skin. It was soooo soft. Like delicate rose petals. Now I am a grandmother of four and really hope that I am lucky enough to grow my own wrinkles over many years ahead. In my grandma's day, you took care of your skin with simple things: cold cream, rose water, maybe a homemade mask, a facial steam, a bar of Dove soap, a lovely cream in a small but thickly-walled glass jar. Some Oil of Olay. :) Oh they were so lovely. Keeping our skin clean, fresh and dewy and protected from the sun is a joy. I LOVE skin care. I LOVE my rituals. Actives and injectibles are not for me, but I would never judge anyone else. Just let me grow old and soft and wrinkly rose petal skin. I'll be grateful.
So true! Thank you for saying it out loud. I've used Avene retinol 0.1 for abt 10 years now and at 75 I can attest it works. Donna
Thank you for this info! Yes, a budget eye cream video would be great.
Loved this video and your comments about being you!
I’ve used Environ’s and Medik8’s retinal but I love Avene products so I’ll have to try this one.
Also, after seeing this video, I subscribed to your channel. I love your attitude and outlook so much.
Totally 100% correct on the Avene Retrinal! It works better than anything! Have been using for 2+ years and no Botox or fillers and people say I look 15 years younger.👍😊
Been using this for three years now. It is excellent indeed
Thank you so much! I hope the young folks see this and take your advice!
Absolutely love your positivity!
Huuuge huuge THUMBS UP for your point of view and opinions about the influencer topic + the beauty trends around botox/fillers. thank you so so much for just being natural, which is very refreshing nowadays (actually sad, that it is huh?).
there is also so much pressure you feel to also do those "beauty standards" because everyone is doing it.
I wish than in a few years the trend will become more towards natural looks.
Again, thank you
Love this entire video especially your intro into natural aging🎉🎉🎉
I learned about the Avene Retrinal line from a previous video of yours and love it. I use the .05 version because it does not contain silicones and does contain squalane. As it is not as strong, I do use it every night and have noticed major benefits. Because there is no silicone in it, the moisturizer I use after the Retrinal (Neutrogena Hydroboost) sinks in so well and helps plump the skin.
A great idea to put these products on your Christmas wish list. Avene products are excellent.
Great, credible channel. A go-to!
really love the introduction ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have used this for a while now! I agree it’s a wonderful product! I use 1-2 times per week at night only. I have recently started using the .05 strength when I feel I need to dial it down, alternating between the two. I also use the eye cream, Physiolift hyaluronic acid, day cream, aqua gel (moisturizer). It’s a GREAT brand and I definitely see a big difference! It all started with the one product Avene RetrinAl Intensive .1 strength and thanks to you! I’ve been watching you for a while now. My hairdresser complemented my skin the other day! She asked me if I got a peel. I can see a difference as well. There are a couple of other products I have tried as well that are amazing especially the new hyaluronic acid HYALURON ACTIV B3. Wow! 😊
One more thing - all products last a very long time and go a long way if you’re concerned about price.
Thank you so much for this very helpful and informative video!
Thank you. Thank you. It is this video that draws me to your channel. You are so naturally beautiful.
IF YOU LIVE IN AUSTRALIA: please know that the Retrinal that Maren discusses is sold under a different name in Australia (don't ask me why). It is called Hyaluron Activ B3 Multi-Intensive Night Cream. It has 0.1% retinaldehyde. I even emailed Avene Australia about this to find out if I could get the Retrinal- they told me they don't sell it in Australia but this has the same ingerdients.
Thankful for a Real dermatologist review and tips ,thanks for what you do .Cant afford to pay to see a derm but thanks to you I can get some real advice thank you ! God bless
Thanks for your review. Am super curious to see a side by side comparison with the Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 0.1% retinal serum.
I absolutely love your attitude ❤
👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽love to see and hear this. I am 44. I choose to age naturally and gracefully. I love a lot of your recommendations and I appreciate you. Self care is good. Skin care is self care.
This is so refreshing!
I’ve been using this twice a week for 6 months and my skin has never been better! Prefer the retinaldehyde over tretinoin which just irritates my skin.
Hi Maren! Have you ever tried the Geek&Gorgeous Retinal Cream with also 0,1% Retinal (A-Game 10)? It is my holy grail in skincare and the ingredients seem to be quite similar to the Avene Retrinal, but its far more cheaper. Geek&Gorgeous is a hungarian brand, but I think they do deliver to the US as well. I would really love to hear a product review from you, especially since Avene is quite expensive here in Central Europe. 👍
Yes, also curious about the Naturium retinaldehyde, which is more budget friendly
For those of us who already have a skin care routine at night. I use retinol on certain nights, vitamin C and a product called CaviPLLA multi serum mask. I tolerate the retinol by Christine Byer really well. I place this retinol, and then follow with the rest. Your assessment of this product makes me really want to try it in additional to the rest of these. Q is purchase .05 or 1%
I have been using the one from youth to the people retinal. I love it. Makes my skin so glowy
Comparison is the thief of joy. If someone wants to do botox or whatever - it's their call. As for me, I do more skincare/SPF than anything else. I eat very healthy 90% of the time and work out (walking, or spin, yoga, or weights) daily, no smoking and minimal drinking. That too, helps us to age well. I will say, as I've gotten older (I'm 56), it's interesting that once I entered menopause, I became invisible. It's difficult to describe but you'll know it when it happens. It's ok, I had my time, and now it's the young'ins turn. That's the cycle of life.
I totally get “ invisible “ I’m 63
@@rosalievitale3340 yes! It's a strange dynamic, for sure. It's like one day you turn 55, and *poof* someone flips a switch.
I'm 64 and enjoy being invisible most of the time. I like observing and remembering how we looked and acted, what we worried about, what was happening in the world, 30-40 years ago.
that is soooo true coz i think that everyone is pretty n beautiful in their own way
Geek & Gorgeous / Naturium / Medik8 deliver same strength of Retinal & much cheaper!!!
Thank you so much for this!😅
I can't afford $80 either for one
Geek & Gorgeous A-Game is awesome! It's the same ounce and strength and correct ph.
Yes! Geek and Gorgeous and The Ordinary are affordable
I use Retin-A Micro, which is Rx tretinoin, but your praise of this product is making me want to try it.
Thank you so much for saying what you shared today.I also try to be natural and look healthy for my age.
Thankyou❤love your videos so much, you are so sweet and kind.
Well said !!! Love your channel
Great advice Maren
The Avene 0 .1% RetrinAL is one of my two Number One Holy Grail skincare products, too! The other Number One is a THD version of vitamin C.
I love Avene! I’m 58 (soon to be 59) and am often mistaken as my grandkids Mother instead of their Granny. ❤
That's wonderful for you 👍🏻😀
I can't afford $80 for one product
@@thedareneewilliams8360 I’ve never paid more than $55 for the Avene. I always get it on sale. I also was blessed with good genes. My Momma had beautiful skin.
Just ordered the Avene one percent I’ve been using the .5 so I’ll give it a shot. Thank you.
Would love a video on budget eye creams!
In the meantime, if you do a search, the budget dermatologist eye cream, she's got videos on budget eye creams.
I’ve been using this for a few months now after watching your videos and have noticed my skin is more even. I love it
Hi do you use it around your eyes?
I use avene for over a year and I love it.
Love your videos ❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! ❤
Thank you for much for your information.
I’m 64, and I have been using Curology for around five years. Do I have no wrinkles. Nope. But that’s okay. I’m not 24 I’m 64. It has helped me tremendously. I have purchased a lot of things. But I don’t use them. In fact, every time something comes in a small box, my husband asks me if it’s something for my face. And I use sunscreen everyday. I have a red light therapy mask. But I don’t use it enough. I also have a Nu Face Trinity. I don’t use it as often as I should. I actually don’t use the Trentinoin every night. I skip some nights if I feel my face is too dry. But if it get to the point I can’t use this. I will start using what you use. My skin is sensitive and picky. I found something to put on my neck. And I put it over my face after my trentinoin. I don’t want my dogs to lick my face with that on it. I’m not sure if it will do anything to them or not. I may get the eye cream anyway. I haven’t found anything that works for my eyes. I sleep on my left side. So my left eye is way darker than my right eye. I look weird. And I don’t wear makeup. But I may have to start to soon.
I’ve been using the Geek and Gorgeous 0.1, it gets green reviews here in the UK but I’m. It sure I actually notice much difference in my skin.
I would love to see greenery in your bathroom!
The only night cream that is necessary is Prescription tretinoin, anything else is a waste of money. during the years I have tried almost everything to look younger + delay aging as much as possible, anything from face exercises, vitamin C serum, Fraxel, collagen supplements and of course Retin A (7 years straight), home devices and what not. However, nothing made any real difference compared to the high-quality derma pen I purchased for around 100 bucks. Within 3 months of use, my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY. I don't look like I'm 18 again, but definitely not 44 either. My fine lines have disappeared completely, and my nasolabial folds are way less are nonexist. People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin.
Could you tell us the brand of the derma pen you used please ? Thanks for the comment by the way!
KorabeauticaIs V2
+1 for kora. I started doing microneedIIing about 12 or so years ago. Nobody believe I am 56. They all say I am in my eary 40's. The reason it works so well is because when we get older, our skin gets thinner therefore creating wrinkIes. But the wounding keep boosting the collagen production after every session to "heal" it self.
How often do you do it?
Once a month, 1.5mm depth all over the face (0.75mm under eyes and forehead).
This is the best video you've ever done. Thank you.
I'm 56. No procedures. No botox.
Just skincare is my game. In fact my 'makeup' is skincare. Can't wear facial makeup almost ever.
Thoughts on using Adalapene instead of retinols for anti-aging?
I would love to see you review One Skin
It’s something I will try. It’s just so expensive in Australia
I am lucky, I started using sunscreen in my 30s. I'm now 76 and have very few wrinkles. Once the sun has done its damage, it's very hard to reverse.
Would love to start trying this. What night moisturizer woule you recommend with this product?
Wondering if their is a big difference between the Avene and the Maelove Moonlight drops?? Interested to know your opinion. Thanks! I love your videos!
I also love your videos. Question. How many times a week should I use this item and how long will it last me.
Hello. I've been a fan of yours since I discovered your channel. Your skin is so beautiful and cared for. Thank you for sharing. I have a question about the use of retinoids. I'm currently using Avene retrinal 0.05 cream. I often hear that it is a concentration for beginners. How do I know if I should stay at this concentration or increase to Avene 0.1 intense cream? Another question is: is the retinoid applied only to the chin or to the bottom of the jaw? Sorry if the question seems goofy. Thank you and happy holidays
can you use this along along with Retin A in the evenings? Great video!
The Avene retinal isn’t cheap but Murad, Isdin, Skinbetter Science and Allies of Skin retinal products cost more. Personally I will stick with my $25/ tube 0.05 % tretinoin which lasts me 3 months but for someone who wants to get pregnant, the Avene product would be a great choice.
The Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream is applied 1 hour after the tretinoin in winter and the Cocokind Resurrection peptide cream the rest of the year work for me.
Thank you for your information.
Could you please compare this to an Adapalene product? Thank you!
Could you please review the Paula's Choice retinol and bakuchiol?
I just found your channel and love it. I'm combating arthritis and my doctor said I should discontinue Retin-A. Is retinaldehyde is safer?
Please an eye product video and the purpose of using something for the eyes
Love retinaldehyde. What’s the difference between Avene and Maelove Moonlight serum or Naturium which are less expensive.
Please let us know what’s the routine if we use the avene?
I have been using both the face and eye Avene RetinAL, but I don't think it's helping much for my undereyes. They look more hydrated sure, but not seeing a change in the wrinkles there. I have more than just fine lines though and have deeper lines now. What do you think of their other undereye product, the Physiolift? Is that better for deeper wrinkles?
What are your thoughts on medik8 crystal retinal versus Avene
Hi,
I love your channel and your expert tips regarding skincare, thank you. However I live in New Zealand and some of the products including this one aren't available here.:( Do you have any other similar recommendations please?
Have you ever used the Beauty of Joseon retinal serum? I'm on my first tube but I'm hoping it turns out to be effective for me since I'm on a very tight budget and it's way more affordable than the avene retinal. Also I try to only shop cruelty free and I'm not sure avene is.
You are a pretty girl! Thanks for the video...❤
I’m on Tretnoin when should I switch? Which one is better??
