Looked at the Fortuna back in 2017 but the interior was too small and to be honest you get much more with the Everest. So I bought the Everest and now have over 130k on the clock and couldn't be happier :) Love you raw and unedited review btw:)
I have to agree with you on the comparison with Fortuna. You can even feel the bumps on the road with it oh my word. It is like someone asked Toyota how uncomfortable they wanted it to be and Toyota just said "Yes". I'd choose the Ford if it came down to a bit of comfort and space.
Love the content! Thanks so much! The Interior is meh...its so dated and done before. My question is why would you buy this for example over a fully specd Super Luxury Haval H6? H6 Super Lux with all the bells and whistles costs +- R460k / Saving yourself R230k. I must profess I'm not a big car guy, so perhaps my opinion is flawed for whatever reasons a more seasoned "car person" could tell me. But having been in both the Ford Everest Sport and the Haval H6 Super Lux - the H6 wins for me hands-down.
@@daletowert couldn’t agree more - it’s all marketing BS and the herds all buy into it. I’ve owed Mitsubishi, 2 Land rovers, Amarok, and 2 Hilux’s and my 1st Hilux gave me more trouble than all my previous 4x4’s combined. Toyota bulletproof reliability is 100% marketing snake oil 🐍
Miss this SUV, Ford shut domestic operations in India 😭😭. Although the 500Nm Fortuner is on a new level this time around. The 420Nm Everest isn’t even close! Out on the highway the 2L single turbo 132kw & 420Nm is gasping for breath while the overtaking and the 500Nm Fortuner is flying down.
Interesting statement!!! Have you ever driven the Everest Sport? We just bought the AWD SPORT in Dec 21 and took it up to Wilderness with close to 50kms on the clock and she flew down here fully loaded. It completely chewed up the miles effortlessly. I struggled to keep the thing within the speed limit it was so eager. So I’m not sure where you get your facts from? It’s a brilliant family SUV. Where I’m not 100% happy is at pull away in normal D where it doesn’t change up quick enough for my liking but I simply flick it into S mode when I drive and that immediately solves that “problem”
@@4WDG have driven for a fair bit and there was a noticeable lack of grunt while overtaking (420Nm engine), Fortuner’s 500Nm trumps it in the engine department. Absolutely no two ways about it
Yeah sure the 2.8 definitely has more oomph than the Sport but remember the sport is aimed at the 2.5 Fortuner and the Twin Turbo Everest Limited XLT at the 2.8 Fortuner. Horses for courses
@@4WDG in the Indian market Everest Sport and the rest of the Everest range have only the 420Nm single turbo 2L, we never got the 500Nm twin turbo 2L. And the Fortuner 500Nm cost roughly similar to the Everest 420Nm here in India. Is different in SA as you’re mentioning 👍
Toyota Fortuner will take you to a million kilometers. Ford will do 250000 max. I have a lot of friends and rhey will never buy a ford again because of reliability. A fleetowner will tell you that the ford looks nice, but in the long run it will let you down. You get what you pay for.
Truly love these blogs keep up the great work.

I liked the video just because you said the Ford sounds less industrial than the Fortuner.
That's exactly why I will buy the Fortuner and not the Everest...
Here in Australia EVEREST SPORT comes with bi-Turbo engine only, which produces 500 nm torque and 150 kW power.
love your vids Juliet...your funny and informative...

Love this channel, it's vibing and very honest
Will you please review the Mshindra XUV 700 from India?
You don't have to go out on a limb, the Fortuner is no match for the Everest
The big question is, does it offer the same hassle free reliability as the Fortuner…
When can we expect your review on the new MU-X?

And the Pajero Sport and MUX are better built anyway.
Would like to know what happened to all the guys joking about 2 liter milk or coke on the Amarok now?? Karma can be cruel.
Also not a fan of large groups of bicycle ridists… I say ridists because it sounds more criminal… LOL
In this price category I'd rather have a Subaru 2.5i Touring ES CVT
This si an American company butnthisbwas actually desgined in india

Ooh ok that makes sense. Pity you guys don’t get the twin-turbo it’s a different animal although slightly more thirsty. Thanks 😎
XUV 700 next

Does this woman think she is some sort of celebrity?
Lame review 😒
