Actually I didn't pay attention to the lore and story, I thought it was just a regular cube with hearts printed on it, and I thought "OK, I'll just incinerate it no prob", and I didn't knew that the cube is sentient.

I really like how you talk respectfully about people who were (are?) effectively your competition, and be that for the sake of informing objectively or born out of true sportsmanship THIS should be the norm, not the exception. I guess I’m too used to regular sports/sports media where they belittle each other and all that toxic stuff.
I think the greatest thing about the speedrunning community is that even though it is an incredibly competitive environment, speedrunners are generally very supportive of each other, rather than being enemies.

Speedrunners dont really care about people taking wrs or shit away because they are just happy that "Thing" can be Beaten faster

Congrats, I think with practice, sub 50 is quite good for the average person, so sub 20 is blummin amazing. You are actually really close to world record, in the grand scheme of things, you really can do it, keep us updated on future PBs and soon, you'll be in one of this guy's future videos!

it would be an advantage if it had the portal 2 portalgun, that can shoot at 300 bpm ( i think???) the cooldown for the portal shots is actually big

Shout out to the Portal Done Glitchless segmented speedrun that still somehow beats the current single segment world record despite being *six years old* at this point and surely quite outdated. Extra shout out to the Portal Done Glitchless v2 that is currently in the works and may or may not beat a certain time goal...
One of my favorite things about the video is the subtle matching of the clips to the music, it really brought my hype up while watching

@Private117 Recently my fiance played Portal using PS3 controller as she's not used to mouse and keyboard
3.5h-4hrs of playtime from start to finish, this being her first playthrough without any knowledge about game and it's mechanics - as close as we can get to "not knowing anything about Portal"
Although this category is the most newbie friendly category which often recommended for new runner to learn, this is by far the hardest one in the game if not the hardest, because you are forbidden to use any glitches whatsoever, in fact the use of glitches is making the game easier, also this category is the longest pace in the game and every mistake even micro mistake is unforgiving.
gonna point out that oob was easily the hardest before omelette skip was found, when Can't Even's 6:16 was world record.

Started learning this a few days ago. Using WadaWada's tutorial. I'm very inconsistent and haven't got the hang of bhopping yet but with practice I'm getting better :)

Sure, it'd be embarrassing to be a hyperintelligent AI and some nerd you wake up for testing obliterates the laws of physics just to whoop your ass in half the time it takes me to get out of bed in the morning, but imagine how much more embarrassing it'd be if she didn't break them at all (or at least not more than you can with the Portal Gun.)
Jesus, the fact it takes a 19 minute video to explain this 15 minute speed run is even more impressive.
The most interesting part is all the cosmetic mods. I find it cool that they allow those to be used during speedruns

Honestly, I think the runners who do hard glitches no matter how little time the save almost always end up being the legends of their categories. A few reasons really, including the massive dedication they need and the fact that they end up actually getting good at those inconsistend gltiches.

You guys are nuts lol. I love the Portal games, they’re by far my favourite games I’ve ever played (I haven’t been gaming for long - the last console I owned was an n64 in the 90s). But as much as I love them, I couldn’t play them over and over and over. Like that one guy who played 18000 times and only completed it 12 times? That would drive me mad lol.
