  • Hello and welcome back to Bumppo's Speed Shop!
    We are back with some more Dyna goodies! I have finally found the Tach/Speedo combo I have been looking for! I have been searching for a while for a good speedometer and tach combo, whether it be the dual pod setup, or something all-in-one, like this gauge.
    What I ended up with is the HD-04 Multimeter Gauge from Koso North America. I found it on a retailer called motosport.com for the best price and this is exactly what I was wanting.
    Even though my stock motorcycle did not have a tachometer, there is still a sensor in the harness for it, so it works. I had double-checked, triple-checked, and checked one more time after that with the helpful folks up north at Koso.
    I wasn't able to get the install completely done just yet. I need a couple gaskets for the gauge from my local Harley shop so I can avoid gluing the gauge in place again.
    Be sure to come back Thursday for the final install and test run of the gauge.
    New videos every Tuesday and Thursday!
    Thanks for all of the support!

    I like that. Said nice out loud when it lit up. Will probably not work on my '96 Dyna...

      You’d be surprised. Give the guys at Koso North America a call. It might work.

    I turned ignition key too "on" on my 03' fxdx, I watched speedometer go from zero to pegged out as fast as I can go! Only problem, I'm seating still, not moving! Instrument repair couldn't fix gauge. I had too buy new speedometer, now my mileage is not correct!

    Hey man dig the videos. Just curious, the combo tach/speedo from Harley is 50 bucks cheaper. Did you get this for the shift light/other features?

      What part number you looking at from Harley?

    So the trip button is just built into the housing and clicks a button on the speedo? Never knew that.

      @NattyBumppo  3 года назад

      Yup. Just a little switch that sits on the back of the gauge.

    Did your 05 originally have a tach? My 07 fxdb doesn't so I'm curious how this tach would just plug in and work with a tech.

    • @NattyBumppo
      @NattyBumppo  2 года назад +2

      From what the guys at Koso said, no matter if your bike has a tach or not, the harness will still have the output for it. Mine did not have a tach and it works like a champ.

    So I just ordered the hd-04 I have it end of next week maybe. It says it's 3 3/8 so it should fit in place of my stock speedometer? I'm hoping. Dakota digital says their Guage is 3 3/8 that replace the speedometer so I'm assuming that's my stock Guage size on my 07 fxdb.

    Little late to this party but curious.. what year is your bike? I want to do a dual gauge set up.. but my ‘14 dyna has a electric RPM readout in the little screen integrated into the speedo.. any idea if I could do the dual (speedo & tach)?

      Mine is an 05. I’m sure there are plenty of options out there to run that. Just gotta do some digging.

      @@bullast2046 there has got to be someone out there who can. Or at least get you a couple steps in the right direction, you may need to Jerry rig some stuff. 🤷🏻‍♂️
